  1. AGG, it's been a long time since I've been to p.com and I've been trying to read your thread all day but I'm no longer just a first time mom and with a two year old and a seven year old in the house, all day is just what it takes these days for me to read three pages! Sad but true (and I wouldn't have it any other way!). I want you to know that my prayers are with you and your husband as you complete this journey. I was doing okay until I read that as a child your husband was beaten black and blue by his mom's boyfriend, and then came the part about the baby's injuries and oh my! My heart is
  2. It definitely wasn't easy but I knew it needed to be done. My heart was broken, having to leave that precious baby in that mess....not just the filth, the whole thing.
  3. I just learned last week that I know someone like this. My husbands niece had a baby five weeks ago so I drove down to Florida with both of my children and planned on spending a few days with them so that I could meet the baby and spend time with our niece. We got there and immediately I knew that it wasn't going to work. There were roaches everywhere, the white tiles in the shower were almost black, and when my daughter walked across the carpet without shoes, her feet turned black! Then I realized that she and her boyfriend were selling drugs on top of being nasty! Needless to say, I put
  4. We went on our first cruise in May and a lady on the ship with us (who had been on 19 cruises) told us to rent a car because it's cheaper than a taxi and you can go anywhere you want. We rented a jeep and it was SO much fun. We checked the taxi rate and to go where we wanted to go cost $120 round trip. We rented the jeep for the entire day for less than $60! However, the next day we decided to rent a small four door car with AC! It's just a little too warm in Mexico for a topless vehicle.
  5. That's exactly what we had to do with our little one because we had upped his formula and he was still waking every four hours, thinking it was time to eat. I let him cry one time and decided that if he cried for 5-10 minutes, then I would feed him. He stopped almost as quickly as he started and that was the end of the every four hour feedings. He started waking up around 430-500 and about a month after that he started stretching it to 830. He now goes to bed between 8 and 830 and wakes twelve hours later.
  6. I just did a search and this dog is a Pomeranian, not a Papillon.
  7. We were at White Oak Park tonight and found a small black dog. We asked around to see if he belonged to anyone there and decided to bring him home with us and try to find his owners. I was originally thinking he was a Papillon but now I'm not sure. If you know someone who has lost their dog, please let me know. He's not filthy so that made me think that he hasn't been away from home very long and he looks to be an older dog. If I have a chance tomorrow I'll post a picture of him.
  8. Vent away! I completely understand. Our little guy is 4 months old and has just started sleeping through the night! Luckily, like you, I have a husband who got up for the first feeding of the night. Unfortunately, also like you, I usually woke up when I heard the baby fussing and couldn't go back to sleep for hours. It was so frustrating but I was thankful that I could just lie there and at least rest while my husband fed him. Hope you're able to wake up at some point today. I didn't sleep worth a flip last night so I'll probably be in the same boat as you. Doesn't make you any less ti
  9. I use Dr. Basu at Emory and I love her. She worked my medication until she got my thyroid straightened out and I started losing weight like crazy. She is soft spoken and kind and I've never waited more than 15 minutes to see her...and they are busy but I've never felt rushed.
  10. My prayers are with the family. I am so sorry for your loss.
  11. Denise, I am so sorry. If there is anything that I can do, please let me know. I will be praying for Phillip and for you.
  12. I agree that if the sign is standing she should have stopped but the problem with the stop signs you're talking about is that if you aren't familiar with that parking lot you won't know they're there at all, or until it's too late. They really do need to be replaced. However, it doesn't matter to me if there is a stop sign in place or not. If I see someone in the middle of an intersection I'm going to stop because I don't want to be in a car accident! I wonder why the lady that almost hit you doesn't know that?!?!
  13. I am so glad this made it to p.com. I grew up with Lee's wife and this has been a rough several months for them. He just had another surgery this week and his surgeries will continue. He definitely deserves your vote and I can tell you that his family is grateful for the votes. Please continue to pray for him, his wife, and their children as the recovery continues.
  14. My mom grad. from Pebblebrook in 76. I grad. from EPHS in 98, my husband grad. from Riverdale HS in 94.
  15. I do. It'll probably be Friday before I can get to you but I'll come by before my dr.'s appt. which is at 215. Is that okay with you?
  16. I want to make an appt. with you but not until a little later in the year when I'm showing. How long is this deal good?? Also, you said to get with you....so what day is good for you?
  17. I normally start dinner around 5 and we eat between 6-6:30. Then it's bath time, story time, and bedtime around 8:00 for the little one. For the first two or three months of our daughters life we didn't eat dinner until 10:30 or 11 because we were so scattered that everything was out of whack! I remember crying to my husband one night while we were finishing dinner around midnight and asking him if we'd ever eat dinner at a normal hour again!!
  18. I'm in Yorkville and while I didn't hear them tonight, we hear them almost daily from about noon until late at night. It's scary how close they sound!
  19. We had chili leftover from Thursday night so I made chili cheese fries! Pretty good, I just ate way too much. ugh...I hate it when I do that!
  20. I first met my husband when I was 13 and he was 17. A girl that I grew up going to church with brought him to church with her. Because of the age difference we didn't really know each other that well because we had different friends. He dated a girl for six years and we all thought they'd get married. Shortly after they broke up I saw him in the Walmart parking lot and he had just bought a new truck so I used the truck as my excuse to talk to him (I had always thought he was good looking!). A few days later I was on the Silver Comet Trail and he was too, but I had just started and he was
  21. Just the swing, or do you also want to borrow the child? You have to take both.
