I really am glad some of you are satisfied with what you got, I was just trying to give information to let folks make their own call. Just posting what the Georgia Dept of Agriculture requires. I just like to know what I'm getting and the seller is being honest and following GA law.

And what was the length of the pieces of wood?? Sometimes that's where the shortages are not so visible. I use a lot of wood, it makes a huge difference when you use it to cook and keep warm in the great outdoors. I have a beautiful bird house of the Lost Mountain Store a dear friend made me about 15 years ago. It is very, very close to the first picture SS posted. There isn't anyone standing in the doorway, however. I had the chance on several occasions to visit the Lost Mountain Store while it was still in business, I truly felt like I had stepped back in time. It was a great experience!! I only wish I had taken pics of the inside.

Thanks mei lan, that's right. They are supposed to have cubic/cord measurements. ~~sigh~~ There are just too many people being taken advantage of with firewood. It really helps if we understand what we are paying for.

It has just now reached 32 degrees at my house, it's entirely possible the pipes are frozen. Fortunately it's not been cold for too long and they should thaw out relatively quickly. However.........they could be busted if they froze. GLT Plumbing is honest, fair and reasonable. If you need to call someone, they can help.

The Georgia Dept of Agriculture is very specific about firewood sold in Georgia. Anyone selling wood must advertise and sell using "cord" as the standard measurement. I've gotten wood from more than one source that is cut shorter than required to measure properly. Here's the info. More info and a picture of a cord of wood can be found here
