  1. We've always eaten at the table. I didn't do it growing up, don't know why I started it but it really is a special time. It's amazing what can be discussed when everyone sits down together. The only thing I have ever said no to was the "yuk's". If you don't like it, just pass it down the line. Everyone had to take at least two bites of everything when they were growing up, if they didn't like it I never forced them to eat it, if they took those two bites. This was every time it was served, just because they didn't like it last time doesn't mean they won't like it this time. Like so
  2. I know exactly where ours is, I was here when they put it in. All field lines drain away from the house.
  3. Juice them, seriously there are some veggies that make wonderful juices. Carrot juice tastes yummy and even sweetens other veggies. Veggies by themselves are not very filling. I agree with CC, don't buy anything you don't want him to eat.
  4. LOL @ BS!! C4B we got about 1/4 inch in Yorkville and we still have a little on the ground in spots. Dallas didn't even get that much. No school closings in Paulding County.
  5. More importantly, what did you do? LOL
  6. Eddie was a great person, his SIL lived next door to us for 10 years. Sad we've lost another old Paulding Countian. He was good people.
  7. Burn a hot fire on a calm day, it may straighten it out. I have a separate vent, like a dryer vent on the outside of my chimney, it creates it's own draft. I only have problems when it's really hot. I use my fireplace to vent my smoke from my cigarettes. I burned a creosote log this summer and all is good. Make sure your cap is seated well, a bird could have built a nest in there.
  8. Whoa!! I hope this is for real.
  9. Stop..........you'e not in Georgia anymore and you both work for the federal government. You're not in the same sector as most people, only in the sector that has $.
  10. Hope it doesn't cloud up. This is a good one. My link
  11. Well we're not in the housing industry. Haven't worked on a house in a bizillion (ok, I exaggerate) years. Commercial construction here. Hospitals, Schools, Churches are where we generate most of our income. Nope they're not building them unless the contracts have been in place a while. At any rate, since there are several here that recognize the housing industry is still in a Mell of a Hess, I would hardly say this is a "full recovery" as stated by the OP.
  12. It's too cold for this early in the year, it's been unusually warm in the Southwest.......could it be headed here next week?? One can only hope!! AccuWeather
  13. OH NO!!! (on the furnace) I don't know anything about a gas fireplace but I wish you luck, you could have a bad frozen pipe problem - quickly - today. Good luck.
  14. Thank you SW, I was just thinking the same thing. Praying for the Bus Drivers and their precious cargo.
  15. Especially since they've had the heat on about 50 all weekend. The kids are going to be so cold in the morning. Make sure they wear jackets if there is school tomorrow.
  16. Wooo Hoooo sticking to the grass. Going to be a winter wonderland soon!! Oh and btw, Snow please stay off our roads.

    SNOW!

Done gone in Yorkville, but shoot it's cold and windy. Still cloudy but nothing falling from the sky. My deck still has little beads on it. If you have to go out, please be very, very careful. Oops spoke too soon, just came back.
  18. Awww, just think it was the only one of it's kind. Sure others look something like it but no two snowflakes are never exactly the same, kind of like us. (coffee in those cups)
  19. You are too kind. And thanks for the good wishes. Hey I think I just heard a bell. :yahoo:
  20. :clapping: I have always believed doing the right thing gives us more riches than anyone can imagine. It's tough right now for many, many people. But like you I've taken a step back and looked at what I have. Everyone needs to walk a mile in someone else's shoes to really understand. However, I don't wish that on anyone. Keep up the good work and the positive attitude, that's all we really need.
