  1. My parents live on Holly Springs, just as you go down the hill from the school. Their front yard was a parking lot full of wrecked cars last night. I'll call and see if it's any better this morning. BRB
  2. Mr.Dis, glad you are there to keep us safe, now you need to rethink your steps, cat litter works good for a little while, well until it turns to clay and freezes. Rock salt eats the wood but keeps you from hurting so much.
  3. Love, love, love Anita. and Mark Thanks for rescuing Mark.............I know how harrowing it was. I spent 7 1/2 total driving/riding in it. I hope I never have to do that again. So glad everyone got home safe!!
  4. Me too!! We still have to go get DS's truck but not til about 10:00. I'm not going anywhere for a while. BTW, it's up to 41 here now. The warmer air is coming!!
  5. They also opened Ragsdale Elementary in Yorkville. When we cam through about 11:00 there were probably 100 cars in the parking lot. Thank you Ragsdale!!!
  6. Please stay home for a while unless you just have to go out. It's better for everyone that way. I have never seen so many accidents, cars off the road and people unable to move their vehicles in my life. Please be safe!!
  7. I know there are still some areas that are not yet above freezing.......everyone needs to stay put, at least til daylight.
  8. 38 and rising in Yorkville, I still think roads are going to be rough til the sun comes up. If you don't have to go out, please don't.
  9. I can't sleep, worrying about all those poor people still trapped in this. As of 5:45 it was 37 here and went up to 38 in the last 15 minutes. I still think it's going to take some time for the roads to be passable, especially bridges and overpasses. Praying that everyone got home safe or had a safe place to stay. I forgot to tell y'all that they opened Ragsdale Elementary for the folks that couldn't make it down Holly Springs Road. When I can through the first time about 5:30 last night my parents yard looked like a parking lot, we we finally got back from rescuing Sean, it was
  10. We came through there (278 and business 6) right after the SUV had flipped we must have been there pretty close to the same time. There was a bad wreck on Goldmine that took about 2 hours to clear, walked in at 5:45 left at 6:00 to go get DS off Buchanan Hwy, got home at 11:30, what a nightmare!!
  11. Buchanan Hwy is a parking lot!! We were about 1/2 mile from White Oak Church for 3 hours, finally a salt truck came through just after a fender bender with two cars. People left their cars in the middle of the road, just turned them off and left. I was a nightmare!!! Thank goodness they are helping, believe me it was needed. Thank you White Oak Church!! :clapping:
  12. Hubby just drove up, 2 home two to go.
  13. It's horrible out there. Took 1 hr 45 minutes to get home from Dallas, 11 miles. Pray for everyone on the roads right now!!!
  14. It took me an hour and 45 minutes to get home. Saw at least 6 wrecks, hubby was a few cars behind me and he's not home yet, daughter is not home yet either, son is on Buchanan Hwy, said it's crawling. I'm going to get him at Rose's if he ever makes it that far. Pray hard, this is horrible, I have never been so nervous in my life.
  15. It started (in Yorkville) just as I was leaving the house to come to the office, just before 1:00. It was still only 31 degrees but the humidity was down in the 40s so I don't think anything will accumulate. There's just not enough moisture in the air and it's been warming up slowly all day.
  16. You'll be rocking that baby to sleep for a long time. Don't let it worry you, every baby is different but they all love their mommas and daddies.
  17. I understand, two of mine are 12 years apart.
  18. You have the right idea, just keep the times you go in there a little further apart each time. Follow your gut, you know how to do this.
  19. I agree, until they can sit up by themselves I don't think it's a good idea. I will say however, don't go running in there, right away every time they wake up. Let them wake up on their own a few minutes and then be all happy when you go in there. They will slowly get used to being by themselves and know you will eventually come in.
  20. Nope. No NPR here. Not my type of programing.
  21. That's good!! What ever works for you, spending uninterrupted time together is wonderful no matter where you do it. We also don't allow any tv's for phone calls during supper, it's family time.
