All I'm gonna say is you get what you pay for. Cheapest is not always best. Dealing with a competitior on other county projects that doesn't have the proper insurance. Can't compete with his prices because of it. GC said the county doesn't require it........................ We'll see when they have a system failure.

She needs to turn left off the ramp of Chapel Hill, other than that, it's a great route. Hwy 5 exit might be a better alternative.

I think parts of Bankhead hwy (78) are still under water. Check the Cobb County link here to be sure.

Perdue Declares Emergency After Deadly Flooding
Cathyhelms replied to MillCreek's topic in RECENT TOPICS
You know Mother Nature is fickle. Who would ever think you need flood insurance when you live on a hill in Paulding County?? Guess it never occurs to most of us, basements are prone to flooding no matter where they are located. Streams become raging rivers during down pours like we had. You just never really know. In the 26 years I've lived here I have never seen anything like this. I just want to thank everyone that responded to those in need of help. Because of those people, we had no loss of life in Paulding County. Looking at the pictures with the massive flooding and road co -
Oh no!! How old are they?? Prayers being said!!!

Wonder if Paulding will follow suit and make the decision soon instead of 5:00am tomorrow. It would be nice if parents could make arrangements early. from WSB

Where is station 4?? We live in Yorkville, maybe we can help out here. I'm sure those guys are out helping even if it's not bad here. -
We live in Yorkville, about 4 miles North of Rose's, we're good here. We only got about 4 inches of rain. Southeast Paulding got hit the hardest. Sounds like North Paulding is having lots of trouble right now.

Just talked to my niece on Mt. Tabor and Due West, she has very low water pressure.

We only got about 4 inches of rain, home is dry, creek is still at the bottom of the hill. We never lost power and I have pcom friends to chat with. All in all, not that bad for me, just worried about those in Southeast Paulding. I'm staying put to ease the burden on the PSCO and Dallas and Hiram PD. I'm here if anybody needs anything.

Here too, we have an extra bedroom and lots of coffee. We're on the other side of the world from 1Novella so if her neighborhood fills up, we're open 24/7.

OK, trying to lighten up here. Just had a visual of CC riding a Pink Flamingo out of this driveway. This really has me shook up, I'm having a hard time with this. I think I'm going to start a happy thread.

I talked to her about 7:30 this morning. They are still dealing with a flooded basement, her SIL was going over to try and help. If he can get there. Lots of water damage but physically they were OK.

Look at this loop, unbelievable. Looks like Southeast Paulding got over 15 inches of rain. We only got 3-4 in Yorkville. NOAA

To SPEED THINGS UP, I'M CHANGING SKINS

Thanks, it's still moving slow but maybe it will improve. -
This is what you get when you hire GC's that don't pay subcontractors. Eventually the guys that do the best work won't bid on their projects any more. Anyone in the County want my list of GC's we won't work for??? This was one and there's another one building the new fire station up in the ritzy neighborhood, you know that large group that has entitlement issues. After 20 years, word of mouth spreads among all trades, right Fellip.

Hail damage usually doesn't show up right away. It takes a soaking rain like this to identify the damage. My Son-in-law is working for Tempest Roofing, he really needs the work. They are licensed, bonded and insured. They are local and are commerce memebers here. If you want him to come and look at your roof, send me a PM. I'll give you his direct number.

Has anyone ever know it to flood like this before
Cathyhelms replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Even with the hurricanes I've never seen this kind of rain. Not for days on end. When our neighbors were building their house in 1994, they cut down a bunch of trees and we got 20 inches of rain in July. But that was over the course of the month, not in a week. Needless to say the tree removal created a river and washed out our driveway. I just can't imagine what some are going through right now. Continuing prayers.
