Someone broke into my parent's flooded house!

I'm so very sorry. I was afraid stuff like this would happen. Prayers being said for your family. -

I don't think anyone "knows", there are several threads with speculation. I would think the boil water issue would have an impact on the school lunch program. It would also effect the student population in regards to hand washing. Welcome to Pcom.

I agree, those with compromised immune systems should always be extra careful. But for those that don't, hand sanitizers should work fine. I feel confident most of us would not have a problem, and those that could know this. I'm sorry you have to deal with those issues, that's horrible.

Have you tried Villa Rica stores for water?? It's not that far, they should have plenty. Rockmart should have some as well. We're in Yorkville, water pressure is low but still flowing for now.

We have been known to use the 5 second rule, on several occasions.

I agree, what about people that have no means to cook a meal or boil water?? Exactly how are they supposed to eat???
-
Don't know for sure but may have to do with water issues.

I'm sure no one would mind if you brought in your own drink. I think it would be better than them just closing down and losing all that revenue.

Yesterday we tried to eat lunch at a couple of our favorite restaurants. One shut down completely, others are not serving any drinks except bottled water or milk. Might want to check things out before you make plans to eat out.

Dang!! :o

Who stole the parking places?? Some people will stop at nothing. (I'm with LPPT, need humor...... desperately )

Pressure if very low right now, won't last long. Guess the tank is about empty. Time to switch over to the well.

Guess it wasn't a rumor that the water was getting shut off.....

Just go to the upper right corner in any forum and you will see, "New Topic". Click on it and you can start anything you would like. I would think washing clothes should not be a problem. Most dishwashers require the water be very hot, and most dishwasher detergents have chlorine in them. Make sure yours does and it should be fine.

Quick everyone hurry to Walmart in Hiram. We can meet for coffee afterwards, that is if anyone has any water.

Hey, want to know if it's gonna rain, if schools are going to be closed or if the water will be shut off, just step inside. You will learn things you never even thought about.

Must be a grandma thing. Heard my Gramma say it, now I'm a Gramma.

Not really but it usually happens just before a rain, old wives tale. One of them that seems to always be right. I'm so befuddled in the winter when the trees have no leaves. Oh yea, if the birds are singing when it rains, it will rain all day. If they are quiet, it's only a shower. Works every time.

Guess I'm staying home. But wait all my kids are grown, I don't need an excuse anymore. -
Yes, but unfortunately I don't think it was "storms" that sent all the rain this way, this time. It liked us so much it just kinda hung out here for too long!!!

I saw that behind David Chandley a little while ago. Please stay South. Told hubby tonight the leaves on the maple tree were turned upside down, usually an indication of rain.

Dispelling the rumors about WATER being shut off

Ok, since you work at home now and the kids don't have school tomorrow, with or without water, can I drop my grandson off??? -
When I first moved to Paulding in 1983, we didn't have water for 4 days. I learned to appreciate it then. Don't remember what the problem was but with two young kids (8 & 10), it was a mess. I was so thankful my neighbor gave me a bucket of water to use in the toilet.
