what have you had to explain to an older generation
DoubleRose replied to Sadie612's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My mom bought my 70 year old grandmother a computer so she could play games online and read about new interesting things. A week later my grandmother told my mom to come get the computer because "There just wasn't anything on the internet." -
Interesting. The only thing I've ever heard about lead at the pediatrician's office is in a little questionnaire we had to fill out asking questions about if the kids had been exposed to lead (living in an older home, etc..). I can see drawing blood if the child has had exposure to lead, but if not.. I don't think I would have the test done. If it is mandatory, I wonder why it isn't done in all offices. ETA: Ok, I see here (click the first link that comes up, a pdf file) http://health.state.ga.us/search/index.asp?cx=013336951444074479352:vfp7xijr7q8&cof=FORID:11&q=mandatory+

I have never heard of a mandatory routine blood test for a child.. My kids are 7 and 5 and been to several pediatricians. Is she a healthy child? Did they say why???

"Canceled" is correct, and "not today, not ever" is too. But you are right about "Two people was killed". Unless "two people" is someones name..

Detective: Child's Beating Death 'Worst I've Ever Seen'

SAME HERE. I don't even know why I clicked on this thread in the first place. -
I had mine taken out at 19 and it was a very painful recovery. I remember my husband (boyfriend then) brought me flowers and I almost ripped his head off for sitting on the bed LOL. It was worth it though, I can't remember the last time I had a sore throat.

I believe they have summer camp there. To answer your question, no it would not be normal for a 7 year old to be left at a park. Or 8,9,10,11,12 in my opinion.

Aw, my 7 year old used to watch Sprout. He loved "The Goodnight Show". Brings back memories.. <3

Did I tell you we started the levelized billing? I love it. It is a lot ($337) but I like knowing what it will be. No more $550+ surprises!!

Thank you

Thank you guys, but it would take me FOREVER to get to North Paulding. Really looking for Villa Rica or Carrollton. Possibly Douglasville.

That sounds great, but I'm looking for something that is during the day and closer to home. Thanks though, I hope you have a great turnout!

Looking for a week of day-camp for my son (7 years old), but afraid we have missed them all. Anyone know of a soccer, baseball, football or basketball camp coming up? Hoping for one in Villa Rica, Carrollton or possibly Douglasville. Thanks!

We had a great time at the Georgia Aquarium. I liked how you could choose which exhibit you wanted to see and and go back as many times as you want. My kids LOVED it (7 and 5 years old). We went on a weekday and it wasn't very crowded. Bought tickets at the ATM type machine with no wait. 3 hours is enough time, but you can stay longer if you want to go back to certain exhibits. My friend's kids were younger and they left before us because they needed a nap. My kids and I went back to the tank where you can touch the sharks and rays, back to the playground, and through the tunnel wi

My son went with a friend (I've never been) and he and his friend said it wasn't so great. I think they were hoping for more slides. But, they are 7 and 9 years old and we have our own pool where he swims every day. I think he was expecting something like White Water. It would probably be fun for younger kids or kids who don't swim often. Wish I could tell you more, but I haven't been myself.

What about the gay rumors? I think he might be gay and just did the Bachelorette for exposure. Vienna said that he was "waiting for marriage", but if that is your belief, don't you usually wait to move in together too? Why would he be living with her, sharing a bedroom with her if he believes so strongly against pre-marital sex? And she kept saying he stopped kissing her when the cameras were off. He seemed sooo weird and creepy on that interview and I definitely believed her, even if she did seem a little dramatic. Ok, I can't believe I actually care about this

I go to Charmaine's in Douglasville and Becky (co-owner) does my hair. I always tip her because it just feels wrong not to tip. If I get just a cut, I usually tip around $10. If I get foils, at least a $20 tip.

How much do you tip your pizza delivery person?
DoubleRose replied to Baileybleu's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I tip $5 every time. We usually only order one pizza and maybe breadsticks. If we had a huge order I might tip more. -
Mine just looked like a flesh colored bump, about half the size of a pencil eraser. It gradually (over a few months) appeared and at one point kind of flaked off (gross I know) and then grew right back. When it came back, I knew I needed to have it checked. I think the key is to notice any changes in your skin. Any new bumps or moles, or any old ones that change color or shape need to be checked. And it's a good idea to go in for a full body check if you have moles that you wonder about, or any skin cancer in your family history. ETA: You can search Google images for pictures.

That's good that they do Moh's. Be prepared to be at the surgery center for a long time. It takes a while especially if they have to go back and remove more. I think I had to go back in about 3 times. Good luck to you!
-
I had it about 2 years ago. I had the Moh's surgery which is where they remove the cancerous cells and test the surrounding area right there so that they can take out as little as possible, reducing the size of the scar. They take out a little, then test the edges of what they cut out and if they need to cut out more they will until all edges are cancer free. They did tell me that Moh's was usually only covered by insurance if the cancer is on your face or genital area. Mine was below my eye. After the Moh's surgery I had my cosmetic surgeon close the wound and he did a skin graft, taking

He is ok, MRI showed no damage to his brain. I'm sure she will come on here and give more information. They are already home. Thank you for all the prayers!!!
-
Just got a text from her to please post a prayer thread for her baby Grayson. Don't know the details, but he fell onto concrete at Target and landed on his head. They are at the hospital getting scans and he may be taken by life flight to Children's. He is only 2 months old. Thank you for prayers and good thoughts!! I will update as soon as I hear anything.

I honestly don't know what to say about this.

The kid is smarter than the mom ! She realizes her feet shouldn't be covered in oil, but her mom thinks it fine.. I like when she says "oh it's ok, it's on mommy's feet too.." wow.
