I meant in the case of an accident.

Give them a chance to fix the problem before you give up on them. My 7 year old won a Game Cube at a church VBS type event. He got it home and it didn't work. There was a Game Stop sticker on the box, so my husband took it to Game Stop in Hiram. They could have refused since we didn't purchase it, and have no idea when it was actually purchased but they didn't. They not only apologized, but replaced it, no questions asked. I give them a big thumbs up!

Thank you!

Free as in.. free with an adult visit? First visit free? Surely you don't just treat all kids free all the time...? Oh, and if you read the entire post you will see that I take her to the pediatrician every time she is sick and am now looking for a urologist.

It's AWFUL, but my 4 year old loves it. Think that was their target audience? LOL

Try some caffeine. I take a medicine that is usually prescribed for tension headaches, and it has caffeine in it. It's called Fiorinal (aspirin/butalbital/caffeine) so maybe take an aspirin and drink a Coke? You should go to the doctor and get them to give you something just to have on hand in case this happens again. Hope you feel better soon!! Oops, just read you are feeling better. That's great!!

She DID have constipation issues for a while, actually. But hasn't for a while now. I know the 2 can be related. I have told her ped about it before and I will definitely tell the urologist. Thanks for reminding me.

Thanks, I don't know why the doctor thinks it can't start later on. I have read of several cases starting at her age. Hopefully the urologist will be more knowledgeable. I'm going to call her first, just wanted recommendations in case she doesn't take our insurance.
-
Yeah you're probably right.

Thanks G! I will see if he accepts our insurance. Is he specifically for pediatric patients? I'm looking for someone who is great with kids...

Well, we had our appointment today. She had another severe infection. The doctor thinks I should definitely take her to a urologist. She didn't seem to think it was reflux because this all started just after she turned 4. Apparently reflux into the bladder or kidneys starts during infancy. So I still don't know why this is happening, but I'm going to make an appointment with a pediatric urologist at either Scottish Rite or CHOA. Any recommendations on who to use? Or who to avoid? And thank you all for the well wishes and for sharing your experiences.

WOMEN: Has anyone had a LEEP procedure?
DoubleRose replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I think everyone is different. I'm sure there are many factors contributing to the amount of pain involved. I had it done at 18 and it was nothing like a pap. After that experience, my dr. told me that if I ever had to have another one, it would be under general anesthesia. I guess some are more sensitive than others. I was okay afterward, but the actual procedure was almost unbearable. I do not have a low pain tolerance in general, just with any gynecological procedure. -
If they suspect texting, they can get a record of your phone use from your phone provider.

I have. I'll pm you. -
You are just really really good at making extremely handsome and adorable little boys. Why mess with perfection??

Of course!

He should be! His Transformers, Bakugans, whatever boy stuff he plays with will be safe. But he might get suckered in to a tea party or two..

Thank you, he was an amazing young man and I wish I had gotten to know him more. He was so sweet and took the time to hit baseballs and throw a football with my 7 year old, when most teenage boys would be "too cool" for that. His parents did a great job raising him and my heart breaks knowing their time with him was cut short.

Congratulations! I have a boy and a girl, 2 1/2 years apart. It is so sweet to see your son be protective over his little sister. It will melt your heart!

Some friends of ours just lost their 18 year old son, Caleb in December. He was texting while driving and had a head-on collision. He was a wonderful boy, in college with a bright future and now he is gone. Although I know that teens will still do things even if they are illegal, maybe a large fine would be a deterrent. I would even be for suspending the license of any teen caught driving while texting. Maybe that would help them to take it seriously. http://www.facebook.com/#/group.php?gid=247771794435

Thank you all for your replies. She has an appointment at 3:15 with her pediatrician. If she doesn't give me the answers I need, I will take her to a urologist. Luckily our insurance does not require a referral. The VCUG just sounds terrible to me. I can't imagine holding my daughter while they insert a catheter and trying to explain that to her. I've read different views on using sedation during the procedure. Some say that it alters the results of the test, because the child is lethargic and not urinating like they normally do. But, I just can't imagine it without sedation.

Thanks I will ask about the culture. They always test her urine, but I don't think they send it to a lab.

Yes we never do bubble baths. I used to let her on occasion have bubbles in the bath, but rarely. And since this started, never. And she does wipe properly. We've been through all the common causes. At this point I'm worried about some sort of resistant bacteria, or anatomical problem with her urinary tract.

My daughter is 4 1/2 and has been having urinary tract infections for several months now. She was a late potty trainer, always having accidents and still sleeps in a pull-up. The first one happened probably late summer of last year. It was awful, her urine was cloudy and had a horrible odor. Since then she has been treated 2 other times for the same type infection with antibiotics. So that is 3 rounds of different antibiotics in less than 6 months. Well, now she has another infection. I'm calling the doctor tomorrow for an appointment. I feel so sorry for her. When she has to pee, she
