  1. In some accidents, NOTHING is gonna help. If he hadn't been wearing the seatbelt, he'd have still been hurt if that much force was in the accident. But a burised sturnum is alot easier to treat than the other options... ONce again, I'm sure that there are plenty of circumstances of some not to be wearing a seatbelt. But don't kid yourself, seatbelts can save your life...
  2. Yeah... cars also kill... steakknives also kill...yadda yadda yadda... you can spend your life taking mass transit and eating only hamburger and hopefully never having to realize that maybe you shoulda washed your steering wheel before it got slammed into your mouth in a 30 mph crash... mmmmmmm leathery...
  3. I understand there are gonna be circumstances where you can't or don't want to wear a seatbelt, but the first time you eat steering wheel in a minor crash and smash out your front teeth, that seatbelt not gonna seem so silly... ... but seriously, I have seen first hand the results of a crash where the person would have survived if she'd had been wearing a seatbelt and not been BRUSHING HER HAIR WHILE DRIVING. She went around a curve at about 40mph, slid off the road and into a retaining wall that was about up to her windows. She wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was ejected thru the passenge
  4. Unfortunately we never found the santa suit. I also left it up to my children, who were running the display, to also take pictures. Being teenagers, they took pics of nothing but themselves and their friends. No there wasn't much to show this year. But on that note, I was approached by a woman who said her son was deployed in Afganastan and that he'd been coming to my house on Halloween since he was a kid. Since he could not come this year, he asked his mom to come and take a picture of me and the display and send it to him. I thought that was sweet...
  5. Wifey went and got Bar-b-que from the hickory hut...
  6. We like our tea dark, strong and sweet. Tea so strong and thick a rat couldn't sink a foot in it. Made a gallon at a time with 2 1/2 cups of sugar. Now that's Southern Sweet Tea, also known as "Brown Kool-aide". ...sometimes we'll mix Oolong with the standard Orange or Black for that extra twang...
  7. If I get lousy service, they don't get a tip. I don't care what they expect. I eat out quite alot, almost every day of the week. I know quite a few restaurant owners who consider me and others who eat at their restaurants regularly as the ones keeping them in business. If I don't leave a tip, they know I'm not being a tightwad, there was something wrong. Alot of those owners are MY customers and have my business cell and have/will call me to see what's wrong, they want to keep me coming back. At one Mexican restaurant in Mableton, the exact same waiter always greets and serves me (I gues
  8. While I personally always leave a good tip (unless I get lousy service), to the above statement I'm sure the owners of those establishments will whole heartedly disagree with you...
  9. The steady rise of Islamic finance The banking crisis was avoidable, says Islamic scholar Sheikh Hussain Hussan By Emily Buchanan and Bhasker Solanki BBC News London has become one of the biggest centres for Islamic finance in the world, with five Islamic banks, and many others in the high street offering Islamic financial products, or "windows" as they are known. The growth of Islamic finance has been an unexpected outcome of the attacks on the World Trade Center of 11 September 2001. Islamic finance is based on rules from Islam's holy texts - the Koran
  10. ...raking in the cash...raking in the cash... the pharmacutical companies are just raking in the cash... ...along with a few congressmen I'd wager.
  11. I've come across a few Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants that do that to bone the wing then stuff them with different dressings and pureed meats. Stuffed Chicken Wings. I can usually lap the meat off faster than that guy boned them. It would also be a neat idea to do ahead of time for your guest at a party...
  12. Yep, me too. I can't even get into the post before it hangs up and I have to use the task manager to get out of IE totally. It's getting annoying...
