Have you wondered, Whitey, why people have a problem with you and your anti-airport group? You're too insinuating and think too highly of yourself. You're as biased and hypocritical as they come. The only person in your group who is reasonable enough and able to consider both sides of the argument without condescending and insulting remarks to anyone is mojo. You and the rest of them, sorry, but you are everything of what you accuse your commissioners as being. Enjoy yourselves.

Oh boy, I know that one. We were going through a pair of shoes every 2 months until I had to start about some really good quality shoes which cost an arm and a leg. But at least they're good for 6 months and then we have to buy a bigger size. And all the jeans... I don't want to know what boys do, really, but he goes through jeans every 4 weeks. Yep, I say save where and when you can!

I had the same problem with my son. By the time he turned 12 he was already taller than me. Those places where we are regulars knew that he really was 12 and gave me the discount. But you're not being cheap. Take the advantage everywhere you can.

Those banners show what? David Barnett's name? How is that a proof to the rumor that you were talking about? This only shows the surplus truck being used for campaign. Nowhere on it is there a claim to someone saying something about someone else not being a veteran. And you want to talk about fallacies here too? SMH you'll make a fine politician, Martina.

Sorry, those are not my "arbitrary rules" that I made up. Both my English and Speech Professors drilled the proper, official mind you, rules of structuring a proposal and persuasion into me for 3 semesters. Oh and I have written speeches for my job as well before. I also have worked with a client of mine who writes speeches for a living with a PhD in communications who tore my speeches apart when they weren't following the guidelines. I was a lot nicer with your speech than he would have been though. So, yeah, I didn't make those rules up no matter how much you might not like them. Now

As I said. I wish you lots of luck.

It's interesting, Whitey... I never did once mention exactly where I'm at. Did I ruffle some feathers there that you had me looked up? Oh and btw, I don't consider raising my family and keeping my promises to them as having problems. Thank you, BB! I'd love to have you and yours over as well. No matter of fact, I'd love to meet up with you on one of my upcoming trips up there this or next month. It would be a pleasure finally meeting you.

You know what, it all depends on the parents too. My kids watched Red Skelton and 3 stooges growing up all the time and would now too if it came on TV. I definitely think he would make it today. That was clean and heartfelt entertainment. It's still sought out too.

Oh for God's Sake, Whitey, how many other posters have never spoken before the commission? Most! And there you go again with your discrimination of only the residents of the county being allowed to speak about the county's issues and only their opinions being of importance. Only now I guess it's also even if you are a citizen you have to speak in front of the commissioners before you are allowed to have your opinion and granted the privilege of voicing it.

Martina, you would know it if I was being nasty, trust me. Now why don't you stop being childish and learn to take constructive criticism. While Whitey, Paulding Patti, and Tundra are going on about your speech and all, do you realize that everybody else is focused on your inappropriate introduction? The message that you were trying to send is lost on everybody because of it. Consider your audience and the occasion when you make up your speeches. I might not agree with everything the no-airport group says, but it doesn't mean that some of your questions shouldn't be answered by the commissi

First, your speech was not about the veterans. Only your introduction was. It had NOTHING to do with the issues outlined in your speech. Yet you used veterans as an attention grabber. Take Speech 101. It won't explain to you how wrong it is to use veterans as an attention grabber in this instance but it will explain to you about relevancy of your introduction and closing statements to the body of the speech. Second, you used veterans to spread more unproven allegations about the opposition during the election. So far I have seen nothing solid to prove those allegations. It is all hears

Yep, after checking it was Paulding Patti. I wasn't sure which one of you was it which is why I phrased it the way I did "Was it you or Pailding Patti?" You're a veteran and yet you bring it into a political issue concerning an airport? Do you understand the concept of irrelevant even? Playing on sacrifices of veterans and using your status as one to get your answers as a citizen in a local issue is way overplayed and in poor taste. I know plenty of veterans and active duty, they don't brag or use their service to the country as a chip on their shoulder or a way to gain attention. But y

Wait a minute, then who was it that used PTSD bit for a political agenda just a little while ago? Was it you or Pailding Patti? And I guess that was alright, insulting veterans by comparing some little god forsaken airport to a combat zone. Now you are once again dragging them into this issue for no reason. You people are no better than the commissioners. You use whatever you feel like to gain your goals and justify your actions the same way they do. Shame on both of the sides.
-
And that happened because the airport was built there? Seriously, I drove around the area and I didn't see anything you have spoken to around the airport. Now by the old courthouse is another story. But I guess that can be blamed on the airport too. And this too. Because of the airport. Yep. It's not the boogey man you should be scaring your children with nowdays. It's the airport.

And who are the "blow hards"? -
Pubby, they are not talking about someone with student visas or "a doctor from the Dominican Republic upon graduation from UGA med school" to enlist. That is a big difference. And definitely a dumb and an insulting idea to a lot of people.
-
It's not about foreigners, Pubby. It's about illegal immigrants being granted a status just for signing up at the nearest recruiting office to where they crossed the boarder. Illegally. So those who have joined the armed forces in this country out of patriotism get to be spit on and that's alright. It doesn't matter, I guess, why you get recruited, as long as you do, and you don't even have to have the privilege of being a legal citizen.

What's everybody doing for Memorial Day Weekend?
Jane Ty replied to Jane Ty's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Ahhh if it was drag racing, my family would be sold and I think my daughter would beg and plead with her boss to give her a day off just this once. Resting sounds like a good plan for the weekend too -
I thought about taking my kids to the beach but after the last trip and an encounter with a baby shark that was apparently swimming only few feet away from us before someone decided to reel it in to the shore, I'm kind of leery of the beach. And with my daughter working we can't even take a trip anywhere fun. I guess we'll just be sticking to home and maybe a bbq. What's everybody else's plans for this long weekend? Hope you all get to have some fun!

Awww she's such a precious baby! And look at her having fun. I wish my labs were that excited about swimming. Some water dogs they are lol.

"Our nation's military is full of dedicated men and women and to disrespect them by rewarding illegal aliens with citizenship is an insult," Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, said in a recent statement." I find that to be so true. And as you read through it, think about all the possibilities this opens up to the National Security being vulnerable. Are they going to thoroughly screen these illegal immigrant recruits to rule out the possibility of them being raised and bred as terrorist cells? Then there is another insult, to the legal immigrants who had to jump through hoops and hoops to get here LE

I've had Samsung Galaxy 3 for a while now, thinking of upgrading it to 4. I can do texting, emails, play games, take pictures, basically use any feature while I'm on a call. It's a great little phone. -
I'm happy to live in the neighborhood where HOA mostly forgets about me. It's ok, I'm happy to forget about them too all the time. Until my neighbor remembers that I'm not much on chit chat or pool hopping and then he reminds HOA about my existence.
