It has nothing to do with the "province of Georgia" law. The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals is a Federal Court. The State of Georgia including the Georgia Supreme Court has green lighted the execution. They voted Tuesday and deadlocked meaning the original sentence would not change. The only current Georgia entity left to appeal to is the Governor. His appeals to the State are gone and due process of law has been met on the State level. That is why the more liberal Federal court is looking again.

Not only did he tour the venue he never missed a beat with the band who was still on stage. He covered, at least pieces of Jimi, Muddy, Albert King, John Lee Hooker, Clapton (Cream) and BB. I am sure I am missing a few but he was really good. The consumate showman played behind the back, behind the head, upside down, with a drumstick, with his teeth and with a towel. The old man was kicking arse and taking names.

Saw Buddy Guy and Johnny Lang last night at Cobb Energy Center. Lang was good, apparently under the weather sick back stage but played probably an hour and fifteen minutes give or take. I thought his sound needed tweaking music really loud vocals drowned out somewhat. Buddy was awesome. Seventy six years old and he is still one of the best showman and guitarist you will see. His sound was much better than Lang's. I know Clapton, Stevie ray, Keith Richards and a host of others always claim Buddy as one of their idols/mentors. Now I know why. Got in at one up at five paying a little for today fo

Ok I will clarify perhaps the use of the word support was a bad choice. What I was trying to convey was the neighbors job relied on tax money perhaps I should say public dollars rather than private dollars. I had never really thought about it that much until this past Christmas at the family gathering. I come from a very traditional conservative family who prides itself on self reliance. There were 16 working age adults in the room and I realized 8 of them worked in the public sector. My point being these jobs pull from the public dole rather than contribute to it without receiving a salary f

I respect your opinion and my statement was just that my opinion. I have been in construction for 30 years and do not accept the "there are no jobs" stance. I have never drawn an unemployement check nor missed any work I did not want to miss. SIL must have been in residential construction which has taken a huge hit. I do not know a skilled tradesman ( that is not in a union) that cannot find work if they want it. Admittedly some of this work requires relocation. My point is these folk you speak of entered a field that was not apparently substainable. I wish them best for your SIL and neighbor

My heart aches for this family, may God show mercy and send down healing angels for them. -
This country has been really fortunate that inflation has stayed low for the last few years. The increase in the MW could well be the last straw to send us into double digit inflation. I am pleasently shocked that the increase in unemployment benefits and useless government entitlements have not sent us past the point of no return as of yet. Like it or not a raise in the MW will cost jobs, a fool could see it. If anyone is working for MW they either are entry level, unskilled or have made some bad life choices. Washington is completely screwed up on both sides of the isle. Every damn one of th

Will be there 8th row orchestra want to see Buddy while he is still around. As for the thread worst songs ALL disco, techno, rap, hip-hop, The Doors, Heart, Beyonce, Maria Carey, most modern country, 50's music, The Beach Boys, "Pontoon", silly asses Brad Paisley and Toby Keith. Come on a song about ticks and a plastic cup, really? I think popular music reflects the interests and mindset of the population at any given time period. If this is true the country is surely dumbing down as some claim it is. And yes I know don't be so serious music is just for entertainment but does it have to be tot

American Sniper' author Chris Kyle fatally shot at Texas gun range

"Whitefeather" would be proud. I have great respect for the job they do. It is not a video game real people die and it takes a strong mind to handle that. I have a good friend who was a Marine Sniper in Lebanon during the time frame of the embassy attack. He did his duty and lives with it everyday. -
Just my two cents, no pun intended. The worker(s) should not have posted the receipt without being willing to accept the consequences. I really don't think people realize the potential hazzards associated with social media. If I was the manager and especially if it was against company policy, I would fire all involved. Common sense seems to be lacking in so many people these days. Having said that the person who failed to tip is a cheapskate selfish prick (or prickess). I would have had to really hold my temper to not confront them and express my concerns in no uncertain terms but in person wi

A lot of folks on here and all over the country complain that certain clubs/organizations are exclusionary of certain groups. A lot of the time these folks are the first to support exclusive entities themselves ( all black universities, gay organizations, etc.). I really don't believe the BSA ever intended to allow gay men/women to be role models for their particular institution based on their founding principles. If it is so important to the supporters of gay rights, in this instance, start your own scouts and allow anyone you want in. Agree with their leadership or not why would you force yo

I know one of the St.Louis and one of the New Hampshire teams that take care of and transport these animals. They are very well taken care of and cannot be transported for more than 8-10 hours a day. They make overnight rest stops along the route if they have to travel a total of say 16 hrs. Each crew transports eight horses at a time, six for the hitch and two reserves. The strongest two are hitched closest to the wagon to carry the bulk of the start/stop load. The horses must have specific markings in order to be considered, blaze, four white socks, geldings, etc. AB raises some of their sto

Georgia Home Owner Shoots And Kills A Young Latino Man

I don't know all the details or facts of that night but in any case this is a tragic story. -
This an impossible question for me to answer. The seventies were the most prolific years for almost every classic rock band and many great country bands. The Allman Bros., Marshall Tucker Band, Skynyrd, Clapton, Haggard, Willie Nelson, Waylon, The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Journey, Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, Zepplin, Bob Segar, CCR, Boston, Elton, John Prine and the list goes on and on. 80% of the songs you hear on a classic rock station are from the 70's. I have thought and the song list is staggering.

Rain has picked back up in Hulseytown. Not much wind or lightning. Pretty hard rain though.

Came through Hulseytown a while ago. Wind, heavy rain, lightning no damage heading Northeast. Hunker down it will pass quickly.
