  1. As far as the NFL goes I support the Falcons. It is not as if Blank is not putting up any of his own money but to extort money from the taxpayers for a venue they can live without is sleazy business. As long as there is a Sanford stadium in Athens I could care less if the Falcons leave and take the Hawks with them.
  2. Does not sound normal. Could be a mistake by the power company. Are you total electric? From the bill I assume you are. Have you had your furnace and hot water tank checked. During the short cold snaps we have had recently if your furnace has been running more during that billing period it could be calling for the heat strips unnecessarily. If you have natural gas/propane heat I don't know. Also stoves, heaters, pools, freezers, refridgerators or any appliance that stay plugged in can be a culprit. While the power companies absolutely make mistakes if your meter shows that kwh used during that
  3. Spunky I hope everthing turns out fine. I am not refering just to you but this is a good example. Just one question, it is one of those things that annoys me. "Need some advise!", go to the doctor,go to the doctor, go to the doctor now. Three days later, went to the ER today. Honey why ask for advise and then ignore it? These people stated they have had the same experience and it was not good and you ask for their advise. Sorry I don't understand.
  4. Smallest? .357 magnum but I carry a .40 Glock most of the time. The momma bear who shot the scumbag intruder five times with a .38 and he ran out would have had to step over his cold body if it had been five .357 slugs. JMO.
  5. This thread is not my style....but I WILL SURVIVE.
  6. While my response last night was rambling ( way past my bed time) and probably appears to lump all of the people mentioned into one pot that was not the intent. I was trying to address previous posts without writing a novel. As far as I know you are the Harper Lee of Dallas and I apologize if you thought I was insinuateing you are anything short of a Southern Belle that was not my intention. If you want me to defend any politician left, right or middle you do not know me. I too agree our state house needs a good spring cleaning. I think the port deepening is being held up by enviromental conce
  7. Vivian Leigh. Of course famous as Katie Scarlett but even better in A Streetcar Named Desire as Blanche and in her day drop dead gorgeous.
  8. Mailman, I assure you I tremble at your great knowledge of Google Search topics. With a statement like "If you don't like my knowledge" why would anyone ever think you might be a narcissistic elitist bully. Also not that it matters but why would I get out when I love the South. LPPT as for the whole right to work argument, sell it to the Unions who have put the auto plants, steel plants, mills, airlines out of business or begging for taxpayer bailouts. I'm not buying. I have worked for Fortune 500 companies, held a Union card and worked for mom/ pop shops so my experience is first hand not Wik
  9. Postman if you detest the backword South so much get the hell out. I know, how about a crap hole like Philidelphia, Detroit, Chicago or really any where north of the Mason-Dixon line in my opinion. Wait, California I hear their tax rate is very affordable. I have friends in Mississippi and yes it is not a place I would choose to live so I don't. There are many reasons they are lagging economically and none of them have a thing to do with conservatve thought. Mississippi has a very large minority population and a very large uneducated population of all races that seems to accept government enti
  10. Fair enough I respect your opinion. I do not share the same exact opinion but the debate has gone on for years. True walk, trot, canter and gallop are the natural gaits of most breeds and the other gaits are usually variations of these base gaits. It could be argued that a rack, tolt, largo, pace are variations of the trot and I see that point. My reference was to the statement that a rack has to be taught and that is not true in a well bred racking linage horse. Yes it has been bred into them by selective breeding over generations so are the traits of many breeds. The quarter horse, TB, stardard
  11. Was going to keep my thoughts to myself but since the weather was brought up I have something to say. The media coverage in Atlanta has got to be the worst anywhere. "SEVERE WINTER STORM EMERGENCY WEATHER EVENT S.W.A.T. TEAM COVERAGE". It is pathetic and I actually feel embarrassed for them. Here is Suzy Snowflake at the Walmart in Calhoun we have some footage from 1996 when they had 1/2" of snow at this very spot. Meanwhile there is not a drop of rain, sleet, snow for 200 miles and she looks like an idiot standing there. OK the weather does effect commutes, live stock, schools, etc. but aroun
  12. While I agree the N Koreans are a threat to world peace they are also a third world nation when it comes to social and economic issues. Picture the USSR in 1960 and you have a snap shot of N Korea today. They are posturing. There are three major deterents to any action by them. Mainly but not limited to the USA, China and Japan. Their communist buddies from the north will consume them like a tiger eating their young if they go too far. The USA and Japan would support the south without hesitation ( at least all past administrations would I cannot speak for president B Hussain Obama). They are r
  13. As was discussed earlier in the thread you are correct about the color registry. However you are wrong about the four beat racking gait, it is not man made. You are correct the RHBAA is a show registry but the gait is natural. I have been involved with racking horses for 25+ years and have seen foals single foot at a week old. It is just as natural a gait as the flat walk, running walk or canter. It is only exaggerated in the show ring, exactly like the TWH.
  14. Don't know the name of them but there are two parks on Barrett Pkwy/East West Connector east of Macland Rd. that have soccer fields and there are always hispanic people hanging out there. I assure you they are safer than Central America.
  15. Totally agree. I enjoyed the conversation and you are right Roy would have looked pretty silly mounted on a sheep. And by mounted I mean using as a means of locomotion but it would look funny either way.
  16. I agree there is an association and claim to a breed. However much like the American Paint Horse Association the registry is based on color. The true genetic foot print of most "Paints" and "Palominos" within these associations is the American Quarter Horse although many breeds can produce these colrs/patterns. Your point is well taken and I agree there is a registry but they do not qualify as a stand alone breed much as a pony is not a breed but a genetic predisposition based on stature. I do not know how long the PHBA has been around maybe Trigger was registered to that breed also I don't re
  17. Point of clarity Palomino is a color not a breed. Any breed that is capable of producing that color gene can throw a palomino foal. Many western movie horses are "gaited" breeds, TWH, Racking Horse, Paso Fino, Morgan, etc. I do not know about Trigger but I do believe TWH claims him as their own. Traveller, the great war horse, was probably a Nargasent Pacer a pre curser to the TWH breed.
  18. Have to agree Stradial. The Searchers is a spectacular piece of cinema very well filmed and cast, maybe JW's best western. "Ole Mose just wants him a rockin chair". Ethan is a bad ass. I will definately call it Top 10 or better. Have to agree Stradial. The Searchers is a spectacular piece of cinema very well filmed and cast, maybe JW's best western. 19. Great topic. Really like The Duke, Clint, Sam Elliot, Ben Johnson, Gary Cooper, Henry Fonda, James Stewart, Alan Ladd, Tommy Lee Jones, Lee Van Cleff and a host of others too long to mention. But I will get off the fence and say Robert Duval (Augustus Mc Cray and "Boss" Bluebonnet Spearman).
  20. I think the OP started the thread to make the statement they did not like the alcohol being served in a family oriented business that caters mostly to children. They stated they would spend there money else where. They have their right to make these statements every bit as much as others have their right to disagree. I assure you no one on here wants to challenge me to a beer drinking contest but I do not consume in front of children or any one I think it might offend. This is not self righteousness, prudeness, religious zealotry or any of the attacks on people rights that some here seem to eq
  21. I would like them to raise taxes on the productive citizens and give it to the non productive ones.... oh wait thats what they have already done.....never mind. I would like them raise the taxes on guns, just like cars tax them to help pay for all the costs they cause. Just like smokers cause increased medical care. Tax guns yearly in taxes to pay for all the injuries, deaths etc that are caused by guns. Gun owners need to help pay for the issues guns cause, just like cigarette tax and alcohol tax. I say 10% of the value a year.
  22. Have never watched the man in four years (six counting his two year campaign). Will not start now. No respect for him what so ever. I will add I have no respect for any politician not just him. If you kill them all there will be a tax increase from hell by morning.
  23. This will not effect his draft status at all. He is an outstanding player. If you play defense and are a Heisman finalist, you don't suck at the game. There are plenty of total thugs in the NFL with huge contracts. He will probably go Top 5 definately Top 10. I will admit the whole story is weird at best and I am glad ND lost to Bama. The whole team was over rated but he is a really good player just read his stats. JMHO.
  24. I give to plenty of charities during the year and do not mind helping others at all. I must admit I do not like the practice of teaching children to beg for money. If they are having a car wash, selling donuts or anything where they are earning their money or providing a product I will participate. Standing in traffic and begging or yelling and being cute do not qualify as earning to me. No wonder we are becoming a country of lazy entitlement minded people. And by the way I do like kids and I do support youth sports.
