  1. Well there is this ya know. Does he still have an interest in the FBO at our airport? <snip> http://www.ch-aviation.com/portal/news/35068-adi-moves-to-distance-itself-from-former-boss-scott-beale
  2. Those two letters say a lot. Thanks!!
  3. I have on more than one occasion "walked into the airport" No I have not utilized any of the planes there. I know there are very few landings and take offs, I attend the meetings, the FBO director gives a report, or supplies the PCAA with the information. Of course if you went to the meetings, you would know that. I know the flight school is gone, I know there has only been one interest in the GA airport that has been opened for 10 years. I know that one "interest" hightailed it out of there after a worker was killed building the corporate hanger then the tornado hit, destroying 2/3 of th
  4. Look it wasn't even close to his house, he had NO impact from the airport but a paycheck and a cushy job. It's not melodramatic, it's reality. Planes are loud, traffic would increase, our beautiful Paulding County would become so commercialized no families would want to stay. Blake walked away and left the taxpayers holding the bag with the failure of the airport and movie studio. You think for one minute Propeller won't do the same? Of course they will, just like they walked away from EOS airlines. I wish him be best, and it's only a matter of time and his mess will be cleaned u
  5. I simply shake my head at someone that lives outside the county wanting to destroy our peace and quiet. Thank goodness he's gone for good.
  6. Independents can run, there is nothing stopping them. This was a Republican and Democrat primary. The whole crux of the election is for the Republicans to choose their candidates and the Democrats to choose theirs. That's why you can't cross vote. If there was a Purple party, they could have their own candidates, too. You could then ask for a Purple party ballot. November is the time to vote for who you want to, you don't have to choose a party. I think people are confused. I went to school in Illinois, we were taught about how the election process works, in 8th grade. I don't thi
  7. 1. Every district had individuals up for election. The commission chair, superior court judge, and school board are county wide elections, all three had an unusual high number of candidates. 2. There were lots of opposing candidates in key positions 3. That's what primaries are for, to vote party lines for a candidate of that "party" 4. If you didn't have options, you probably didn't research any of the candidates.
  8. A candidate must win 50% plus 1 to avoid a runoff. Joe Watson only received 48.75% of the votes. It's not 51% but requires 1 more vote than 50% of those that voted.
  9. Just so you know, it was NOT the City Manager that ordered the crosses removed. He was only following bad legal advice. The City Council handled it last night and they will go right back where they were removed from, this morning. Hiram is a wonderful place, the people are incredible. I think it's time to make some more changes though. The new City Manager is a great guy, none of this was his decision. Don't abandon them when they need our support the most. Sometimes you just have to get all the facts, from the governing body, not on social media. I will be doing as much shopping
  10. Just so everyone knows, it was not the Mayor, the City Council or the City Manager that said the crosses needed to be removed. The City Council voted last night to put them right back where they were. It will be done at 8:30 this morning.
  11. They seemed to believe the big box stores wouldn't care, they would consider it a cost of doing business. They obviously don't know what they did and they didn't care. They used the City of Woodstock as an example, their resource was the guy that switched Woodstock over to that method of business tax. Now, compare Woodstock to Hiram............LOL
  12. Those gross receipts for business taxes hurt Hiram. I already know three people that were considering opening businesses in Hiram, they decided it was cheaper outside the city limits. The big problem is the previous Mayor didn't do any negotiating with the county on the tap fees for people to connect to the sewers. The businesses and homeowners can't afford a $5,000.00 tap fee. It's a huge mess and it won't get fixed any time soon. Hiram will not collect any fees for the sewer, they can get a "small" administrative fee but the county owns it. The new Mayor's hands are tied. After Hiram i
  13.  That's pretty funny, right there. I didn't post his address, anywhere. Never have, never will. Our "little revolution" started when our "big government" tried to run all over the citizens. I'm not worried about our credibility. The Let Paulding Fly people, well that's a whole 'nother story. I could care less what Blake Swafford is doing or living. Except the fact that he doesn't even live in Paulding County. You have a great weekend, it's beautiful out there. Just waiting for this load of clothes to get dry and I'm going back outside.
  14. I hope everyone realize the airport authority and David Austin have a list of names and addresses of those opposed to commercialization of the airport. There are maps with "pins" showing where they live, distributed freely for any who ask. Yea, I have copies and my name and address are on their "hit list". The supporters, the Let Paulding Fly group, have published names, addresses and other personal information on social media for a couple of years. And someone is concerned about Blake's address being exposed? BTW, did you notice it's in Cobb County?
  15. Yes!! We have industrial parks practically empty that DO NOT have water and sewer to all the lots. Nor have they had soil tests done. That is the job of the IBA, NOT AIRPORTS. The tap fees are exorbitant, too. Robert Reynolds does seem to be very versed in what he's doing. I was impressed with him at the Town Hall Meeting. This falls directly into the lap of the IBA and the Chamber of Commerce, both of which have been so focused on the airport, spending every available penny out there, what they should be doing is left hanging in the balance.
  16. I find myself agreeing quite often with CC on local matters. But if everyone doesn't get out and vote, we're gonna be stuck with Maxwell 2 more years.
  17. I am defending Kerstin Liberty's support of MEDICAL CANNABIS, not recreational use. If you are too stupid to know the difference, I can't help you or Howard. I typed that really, really slow so Pubby could read it. I guess he believes Maxwell's lies over the truth. Kerstin has NEVER supported recreational use of any drug, in fact she has worked with teens and young adults teaching the dangers of recreational of all drugs, even marijuana. Kerstin and her children don't even drink soda or tea. She doesn't even use refined sugar...........Pubby knows this, he's just perpetuating lies. W
  18. Oh me, oh my. AFC is about school choice. I say good for Liberty, Maxwell has spent way more than that from Liquor and Gambling contributions. So do you want someone that supports school choice or wants to bring in peri mutuel betting to the state. You really need to check out Howard's campaign contributions. Wayyyyyyyyyyyy more than $37,000, like a couple hundred thousand! Howard collects that in two days. http://media.ethics.ga.gov/search/campaign/Campaign_Namesearchresults.aspx?CommitteeName=&LastName=Maxwell&FirstName=Howard&Method=0
  19. I know who made that video, believe it or not it was just your average anti-commercialization supporter. No cost, just time. We have some pretty smart cookies in that "little" (hahahaha) group (it's not so little). Many of them even have degrees!! OMG, can you believe it!!
  20. I looked up the Non Profit on the secretary of state's web site.
  21. I got the answers I needed, thanks you everyone. When all else fails, go directly to the source.
  22. So you're telling us a non-profit organization, EPFBC works through a different non-profit organization(?? Name ??) for fundraisers? Then that non-profit turns around and makes a donation to EPFBC? Is that correct? Are any of the EPFBC members related to or have a financial interest in the members of the other non-profit? Did that "other non-profit" perhaps make a donation to the BSA, is that where the confusion has come from?
  23. It's all good, I'm with you.........these people are long time friends and have been part of Paulding County politics for a very long time. While this is Virginia's first run at an elected office, she has been politically active for years. Howard's mailer was ugly, full of lies, and very unprofessional. He is no gentleman, twisting words and printing lies is not very becoming of a sitting State Representative.
  24. This thread started out about Howard's ugly mailer, packed full of mis-truth and inuendos, somehow it migrated to the School Board race. Here's what I know about the booster club, and this did not come from a school board member or a candidate running for a school board seat. My information is based on this post here from 2014: http://paulding.com/forum/topic/312397-east-paulding-football-booster-club-issues/?hl=%20east%20%20paulding%20%20field%20%20house I called asked questions and got the information about the loan and the builder/developer. I still think the Booster Club got a raw dea
  25. No, I'm not accusing the booster club of anything, I know you have a momentous task because of what happened with the loan. My information came way before the elections, like way before. Yes, those kids deserve so much more, I'm sorry I upset you. That was NOT my intention. Amen!
