And in the mean time the voters are going to the polls, one election at a time. Sending a clear message they don't want a commercial airport. The seat Carmichael walked away from was replaced by a candidate that opposes commercial service at our airport, with a record voter turn out. The results were 2-1 in favor of Commissioner Davis. Keep in mind the airport was not his only issue, but was an important one. We have one candidate that supports commercialization, three are opposed for Commission Chair. Denial is not a river in Egypt.

Roger did not second a vote to buy property for an airport. Roger seconded a vote to have it put on the ballot for the people to decide. There have been people pushing for an airport in Paulding County for years. He thought the people should decide. Roger only served two years with Jerry Shearin, he was left at the end of 2001, Jerry was first elected in 2000. Roger was long gone before they decided to build the airport in spite of the vote he required be put on the ballot.
