Bd of Ed Tax Hike Hearings Tuesday & July 22
tundra replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
And here we go again. No the tax hasn't changed but you will be paying more school taxes because housing values are increasing. The BOC has a 5% across the board increase in it's budget, so look for your taxes to take a huge leap with both of these increases. How the county values your property vs what you can sell it for are not one and the same! There is no way they can take over 50,000 houses in the county and have an appropriate value for each and every one. My daughter's house value jumped from 38,000 to 63,000..............while there are still many foreclosures and vacant pr -
^^^^ this is a brilliant idea. Seems like the only ones that think so are sort of at the bottom of the totem pole.

Woot and you still have til at least October to enjoy it all! Then when it gets cool, you can sit around the deck enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds of water year round!!

Rumors and innuendos. I thought you were a journalist, Pubby. Did you verify any of what you said to be fact? Because I can tell you first hand, no attorney has been fired by anyone.

Todd not being transparent? Really? How many months did everyone know about the airport but Todd? The disrespect shown to this commissioner, again by another post commissioner and other members of that steering committee floored me. The more I see how Todd is treated the more I know we must stand up for what is right and sensible!! Blake thinks the Atlanta City Council was rude to him and Ben DeCosta? What do you call this?

Just because you didn't like the results doesn't make you right. I talked to those people, they willingly expressed their opinions. I may not be right in your eyes, but I assure you I'm with the majority. Call it what you want, but those opposed to the airport were motivated to vote. Obviously, some people didn't even know about the airport, nor do they care one way or the other if it goes commercial. I happen to know one of those residents that complained about the helicopters inherited a house built way before the airport was thought of, way before the "building boom". I also k

I don't know who did what or who paid for what except for myself, nor do I care. My copier was busy, my feet and legs got tired, I didn't do a lot of stucco business at work, sometimes I got 4-5 hours of sleep at night before I got up and was knocking on doors again the next day. As for me, I talked to people in every corner of Paulding County, North, South, East and West. Know what I found out? Paulding County has some awesome people living here, they love to talk and they care about their community and quality of life. The opposition to the airport was overwhelming. Some people d

I love the benches in the deep end. I have two, one on each side. Spent many an hour just sitting there, enjoying the cool water. It's beautiful Blondie! You don't need no stinking plants to swim. Done in record time, really. They started ours in February and we didn't get to swim until May. A little over two months isn't bad at all.

Great news!! Hope your able to get up and move around some, don't want that new hip locking up.

Well I guess that Post 2 race didn't go as everyone expected.

Woot! Free at last, thank God surepip is free at last. I know he's glad to be home!

Woot! Won't be long. Get ready for a lot of brushing and back washing initially. That plaster dust takes about a week or so to get out of there, maybe longer. That's what kids and grandkids are for. It's looking awesome, love the waterfall feature, you won't be sorry on those cool evenings in the spring and fall. Even if you can't get in or don't want to get in, you have the water feature. Nothing as relaxing as the sound of water. You are so going to love it! I have to call them, had some tiles pop off the upper edge of ours. Pretty sure it had to do with the last couple of

This started with trial lawyers and "personal injury" cases. Doctors still have a hard time going in to private practice because of the high premiums for insurance. While I understand there are some instances where mistakes are made and compensation is awarded accordingly, greedy insurance companies started this trend with liability insurance along with the ambulance chasers. You can sugar coat it all you want but we can thank those insurance companies and trial lawyers for the cost of Health Insurance today. Guess who lobbied to get Obamacare passed? I hope you guessed insurance compa

See that's the problem, health care was affordable before the insurance companies took it over. Doctor and Hospital fees while not a normal expense were affordable and you could set up payments. 42 short years ago, my son cost $350.00 to bring into the world. That included the hospital bill and the best doctor in town. No I didn't have insurance, didn't need it.

Boom! Nailed it. Liberals don't understand it's their responsibility to take care of themselves and their families. It's not the employer's nor the government's job. Don't expect them to understand personal responsibility when it's so much easier to blame someone else. They are the compassionate ones as long as they don't have to take the money out of their wallets to help others. Our Blamer-in-Chief has set the perfect example. It's too simple for some. I almost typed, in my last reply, and they hate big business, they hate the 1% they hate anyone that has done better th -
Funny you should bring up this author. Here's a review of his book, It Can't Happen Here, published in 1935. I see many references and similarities to what is happening in America today. http://www.amazon.com/Cant-Happen-Here-Signet-Classics/dp/0451529294

I just want to know how many times Paulding has to vote against the airport for the unelected Authorities to realize we don't want an airport. None of the people that were in office when this airport was built was re-elected, this past election was clearly anti-airport people that went to the polls. While those that are subject to the election process have been changed, many of the same people that have been on the PCAA since 2004 are still there, pushing their agenda without citizen input. They don't need no stinking opinion from the peons, they KNOW what's best for Paulding County. T

Sadly in this day an age, any social media stores all your info. Once it's on line, it's forever. It's not just Facebook. I rarely post family pics, or personal information on line or in emails.

If I could give you 10,000 likes for this I would. Everyone here is blaming the mom but those children do have fathers somewhere, they can't be made by themselves.

Wow, you do get to choose where you work, for now anyway. Until the government mandates your work place based on your skills, then they tell you where you should live. Based on what I've seen over the past decade, that's probably not too far away. Does it not bother you that the government is mandating something be bought, whether you want/need it or not? Hobby Lobby is not the bad guy here. Don't want to buy car insurance? Don't own a car. Don't want to have unwanted pregnancies? Don't have sex or go to the health dept. You can get all the free contraception there you want.

Silver Comet Field County vindicated on Airport Bonds

The courts interpreted the law as written. Remember, there was a time, not that long ago when women couldn't vote.- 11 replies
