  1. I think this is the only "fair tax" that exists today. That 1% is paid by everyone that buys something in Paulding County. Those shops in Hiram generate a lot of revenue. Like everyone else I don't like any tax but the school board is going to spend it anyway. They do need to become more responsible with their budget, they need to be sure the $$$ is well spent. We as taxpayers need to watch and pay attention. The one thing I have learned in the last 6 months is that every expenditure needs to be accounted for and examined by the public. The school board budget and expenditures are publ
  2. Yes but before we get them all bunched together, please understand these men are individuals and will not "go with the flow". Don't think for one minute they will merely follow each other. They have worked side by side during this election, they will continue to do that as Post Commissioners. However, each one is a strong supporter of what they believe is right. Congratulations to transparency, integrity and honor. It's about time you got the credit.
  3. Sweet Jesus, how many times do we have to say our group has NOTHING to do with Delta. Protect Paulding is NOT DELTA!! Atlanta owns the land around the airport, not Delta. DELTA is an airline, not an airport. All of Propeller's money is outside money!! At least Atlanta and Delta are part of Georgia and drive a huge portion of the state's economy. Who is Propeller anyway?
  4. As far as outside money coming in to Paulding, who do you think paid for many of Barnett's mailers? Who do you think is paying for all this airport stuff? Who do you think paid for Maxwell's flyers? Many of those folks are not from Paulding County. Seriously, outside money has been flowing to this county for years. For the first time ever, someone stepped up to help the citizens. I can't help but think the Pip's might have had something to do with that. I just wish there was more we could do to help them. Yes the airport was the hot issue (one a lot wanted to avoid) but the way
  5. Gah!! I'm so sick of threats, pass the Esplost or your taxes will rise, they went up anyway. Pass the Splost or your taxes will rise, they went up anyway. Build this general aviation airport to keep commercial flights out of Paulding, nothing bigger than an SUV with wings!! They want commercial anyway! To bring jobs and lower our taxes. Build this courthouse now, we NEED to spend 65 million dollars on it. Build the Movie Studio we need jobs it will bring 2-3000 and prevent a tax hike. I'm sick of the blatant lies to get projects done so their builder buds can all make money.
  6. Yes you can spray them with a waterproofing, putting them in the dryer with dryer sheets actually repels water, too. No sewing, no heming, no work on those sheets. They come in multiple colors and patterns. Love using sheets.
  7. I went and looked at them, have you considered using flat sheets and clip on curtain hangers instead? I use flat sheets for many things, you can buy some large metal washers for weights. Twin flat sheets measure 66" x 96". Those microfiber sheets are horrible to sleep on but they make awesome curtains.
  8. I'm still trying to figure out if he's for or against commercialization of the airport. From his mailer, you'd think he was opposed. He has never publicly stated if he was for or against it. When asked for an interview by the ponytail patriot, he didn't respond, every other candidate did. When asked by the Stop the Airport Expansion group about his position on the airport, he didn't respond. When asked by the Support the Airport Expansion group about his position on the airport, he didn't respond. So either he's afraid to state his position or the airport is unimportant to him. Which
  9. Yes Tony, thank you for your service. This is embarrassing, not sure where it started but I know the truth will come out. Another one: http://ponytailpatriot.com/section-blog/236-mr-barnett-what-is-the-truth&Itemid=82 And the Ponytail Patriot has been on the ball. Outside money coming into a campaign is nothing new. Sort of like the money Barnett and Haynes got from the Association of Realtors in Chicago. Can't wait for the campaign disclosures to see how much those outside firms contributed across the board. http://ponytailpatriot.com/section-blog/238-local-elections-and-
  10. cmorg if I could give you 1000 likes for this post I would. If people didn't think outside the box, indeed Eli Whitney wouldn't have invented the cotton gin. Without the cotton gin, the South would be a whole lot different, perhaps the Industrial Revolution would have never happened. Then where would those Yankees and Mid-westerner's go to prove they are so much smarter.
  11. Deep down, reading some of this makes me so glad I have no school age children. If I had to do it over again, no way would I let the public school system indoctrinate my child. What a waste of resources and money. I remember a time when our children were compared to those of Japan and others leading the age of learning. Sad to see some look aat education as a tool to push through a political agenda. Thank you Jimmy Carter, the Southern President that is responsible for dumbing down our kids.
  12. People are not fond of dirty politics, just saying.
  13. So David Barnett is responsible for bringing the Driver's License Center to Paulding but not the airport. Does anyone really believe that?
  14. I see, it's only "secrecy" when the Post 2 commissioner requests it, otherwise its just business as usual. The only drama I see is in the description of this meeting.
  15. Oh wow! And to think Cobb County can do all that without a Commercial airport! Holy Toledo, or should I say Holy Kennesaw?? I'm pretty sure most of the people in Paulding County don't want to be in Cobb County. Pubby, they moved here for a reason...........to escape all the traffic and high taxes of Cobb County and beyond. Some people, the majority I do believe, would prefer to stay a Bedroom Community. Some people are just fine with commuting to work. Now that the East Hiram Parkway is built and they are widening 92, I think we'll be good for a while.
  16. Yes, use evergreen shrubs or the leaves will end up in the pool. We have day lilies and iris lilies, gardenias are evergreen. We use the lilies because they don't seem to attract too many bees. Nothing like having to swat bees away while you are swimming. Another thing, we have rock around the edge of the pool instead of tile coping. While it's beautiful, it's rough and has been known to put a hole or two in those blow up floats. Put coping (if you can) on the edges, then put the stone in. There are all kinds of gunite colors and tile arrangements you can do on the bottom. Be g
  17. Pubby, do you really want people to come to your playground? You should probably start by not being so condescending to your posters. You just tore surepip apart and told him he was living in the past. It's like inviting someone to come into your torture chamber and let you show them how the equipment works. Just saying.
  18. I just want to say, anyone that doesn't believe those planes will be loud are dancing around with their fingers in their ears. Either that or they are already very hard of hearing. Does anyone seriously think MD80 or 737s are whisper quiet? Seriously?
  19. Hmmm, I don't remember Microsoft, Apple or IBM requiring millions of dollars of tax payer $$$$ to get their facilities ready. Did I miss something? You keep talking about a monopoly at HJIA, you do realize there are many airlines that fly in and out of there, don't you? McCollum Field, Cartersville Airport, Stockmar Airport are examples of successful General Aviation airports, in close proximity of HJIA. So explain to me where the monopoly is? Where is the "exclusive" control you elude to time and time again? If such a monopoly existed as you claim, the government would step in a
  20. Yea, well sort of and sort of, not. The supporters of the airport keep tying reduction in taxes to the schools. So, I must ask, can the airport help the school system or not?
  21. Maybe I'm wrong here but anyone that runs for "more authority and power" shouldn't be running. You run to represent the people, not for authority and power. I'll vote for the candidate that wants to represent me first.
  22. El Zorro, I'm surprised you typed this. Yes, I know they have to give up their other positions, that was the whole point of this post. If kids are your passion why not stay in the position to which you were elected that is most directly related to the kids? I guess you're OK with people not finishing what they were elected to do. He threw the voters away for a run at at commission seat. Why? It's not like this school board seat had been held by the same person for a long time. He was just elected in 2012. What will happen if something "better" comes along when he's a sitting Commissione
  23. Well, since the Industrial Building Authority and the Airport Authority have the ability to bring jobs to Paulding, where are they? Why all the sudden is everything dependent on Commercial Service? Why are they letting a company that has NO history of success, NOTHING to show take over our airport and let the taxpayers foot the bill for their escapades. They've had years to bring jobs to Paulding, they don't know how and you want us to trust them on this? Who is Propeller Investments? I find it odd that people are more worried about who's funding the opposition than Who Propeller is.
  24. Yes, I understand that but why resign when you have recently been elected or appointed to a position where you can already do what you're campaigning on? Why resign a school board post if you're most concerned about kids? Why resign your recently appointed position on Economic Development if you're concerned about economic development? Are you going to quit as a Commissioner because you want to run for something else?
  25. Yes, Mr. Passantino is quite awesome and the AJC even asked him who was funding Protect Paulding, (not savepauldingco, different group), he did say it was NOT Delta. I guess you missed that article by Kelly. I will say it again, thank goodness someone outside Paulding saw the plight of the helpless, penniless citizens and have stepped up to the plate to help us, least we end up like the Pips, sick and broke. Perhaps that letter sent to Delta's CEO raised some eyebrows.
