  1. Just on Facebook, no big deal, it's perfectly private.
  2. See we didn't need all those "things" until the flood gates got opened and everyone wanted those "things". Never had an emergency that wasn't handled promptly, one library was all we needed and the schools haven't really improved, no matter how many "new" ones they build. We just spend more money for less.
  3. I was with you until you said second-rate and sub-par. I've lived here for 30 years and was completely happy with the way thing were. I moved here from the city, Chicago to be exact, and didn't miss one single thing about all those "conveniences". Drove to Northside Drive and Mt Paran road for the first year and 1/2, then to Chattahoochee and Atlanta Road for the next 4. I was perfectly content to leave all that behind for my little patch of peace and quiet with some of the best people I'd ever met...........I didn't buy a house til I could afford it, did it the conventional way with 20% d
  4. Not to mention the three weeks of early voting and Saturday voting. I just can't figure out why people move to the country and want to bring the city here. Well, the cheaper taxes are appealing until they realize they just might have a commute to work.............not much for forethought, are they?
  5. Face it Pubby, DA will run it the way he wants to and won't have a job come next year. Clearly the people have had enough of bullying. You fail to realize, along with many others, I'm in control in the voting booth.
  6. Just like the promise of jobs, it's all projection. It's going to create 2000-3000 jobs but only increase traffic by 200 cars. We can do all they want without commercial service. Ditch the commercial flights, make this a great general aviation airport like McCullom, Charlie Brown and Cartersville and the law suits go away.
  7. This was brought up by citizens over the last several months. We didn't want the BOC to form this committee, they took it upon themselves to do this. We just want them to hear what we are saying, not give us another useless committee they control. If this is their answer to what we've been saying they truly haven't heard a thing we've said.
  8. The Ponytail Patriot gets it. http://ponytailpatriot.com/section-blog/248-foxes-will-watch-foxes-cooking-chicken
  9. Do you not understand we have no "transparency" with Propeller? It's a private company, our illustrious Airport Authority hasn't even seen a financial statement. They are not subject to any open records laws. We have no idea who the "investors" are. It could be China for all we know. When due diligence was started, the person doing it was threatened. She has it in writing. Check! Yes this is only 50 miles from Atlanta, they probably wouldn't need a second hub that close Hartsfield, airspace is an issue. Barrow and Dawson would be much better choices because it is further away and t
  10. That argument doesn't hold water, it's been tried before. Atlanta is not interested in a second airport here. Oh and don't forget to float the landfill rumor, that one's been floating around a long time, too. Paulding is just one site where the City of Atlanta owns 10,000 acres. Dawson County and Barrow County are other locations. We were sold on the idea lied to building a general aviation airport here in Paulding, would keep commercial service out forever. Sorry, ain't buying it..........been there, done that, now I have a t-shirt that says NO COMMERCIAL AIRPORT.
  11. Come to the meeting and let's ask those questions. There are a bunch of us going.
  12. Ha! You are so funny! I guess you are hoping instead of a citizen steering committee, you just want another arm of the government. Guess what, you don't always get what you want. Oh and BTW, I have no desire to sit on that committee, the "arranged" one. I have more important tasks at hand.
  13. Ahhhh shoot, I forgot. I'm supposed to sit down and shut up. The H*ll with the first amendment.
  14. I'm thinking some appraisers are going to be making some money this year.
  15. They raised the millage rate when property values fell so low, with a promise when the market rebounded there would be a roll back. County budget just released, almost every single department has an increase. Now they couldn't be falsely inflating values to show rising property values near an airport, would they?
  16. Ok wasn't this requested by the Citizens for months and months in speech after speech? Now look what they are doing. This isn't going to be a citizen steering committee, it's going to be another authority. Appointed by the commissioners and the chamber? Why the chamber? I guess they misunderstood or they just decided to do it their way, as usual. Lordy, Lordy, Lordy!!
  17. Without any participation from citizens? WTH? http://www.paulding.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=527
  18. Ahhh, I see. It's better for those that want to speak out to sit down and shut up, now that's a little narrow minded. Yes, everyone sees what they want to see. If exercising our first amendment rights make us hypocrites, so be it. I will continue to speak up and speak out, and I will say our coalition has grown by leaps and bounds over the past 7 months. I guess we're not doing as we've been told and not following the flock off the cliff.
  19. These are the journalists of today, they write opinion pieces and call it news. What happened to reporting news without injecting your personal mantra? The days of real journalists are long gone. The liberal media has replaced journalism with something that resembles War of the Worlds.
  20. If you can't see the insult to those that have served by those that want to use the military as a campaign tool, you have never lived with a veteran. Just as those that went over to work cushy "contractor" jobs think they are in the same category as our soldiers. It's an insult to them and their families.
  21. Yes the budget was posted yesterday. http://paulding.gov/index.aspx?NID=291 That "no tax increase" tax increase is rearing it's ugly head. You know the one some folks were saying was not a tax increase because their taxes went down. Now if you raise the interest rate on my credit card and I lower the balance a few thousand dollars, even though the interest payment will be less it's not because that interest rate went down, it's because the value decreased. It's still an increase no matter how you slice it.
  22. But, we didn't have a tax increase. How did it go up?
