Ken Thigpen thinks anyone that wouldn't accept 40 million from the Feds is dumb. ~~shrug~~ -
Here's what his daughter posted on his Facebook page:

Sending prayers, he's strong, he's not going to let this get him down. Surepip, you and your family are soooo special. Let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do.

Know what? We have winter every year, cold one's too. Sure it is going to show growth, until it's adjusted downward, then the media will ignore it.

No it was a scare tactic used to build the General Aviation Airport. One our home grown politicians used, this group just picked up the same ball and ran with it. Atlanta was never going to put a landfill in there, but now............after this, I think the gloves are off. -

Without seeing the actual documents, I will refrain on commenting on the legalities of the contract and/or the wording. HJIA drives the economy in Atlanta, even in the state. Of course the City of Atlanta would be upset by using the property Paulding purchased for reasons other than discussed. I don't think the City will be selling any more land to the County. Keep acting like we have nothing to lose in this debacle. Atlanta still owns almost 10,000 acres and can do with it what it wants. Do you want to see a landfill from the city out here? Keep pushing them and telling them i -

Is this the future of our airport? 50 kilometers is equal to 31.0686 miles http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/mirabel-airport-terminal-trudeau-s-white-elephant-to-be-torn-down-1.2628421 -

All they have to do is take commercial service off the table and all this goes away. No more law suits, it will stop. Let's make this the best general aviation airport in Georgia and build that industrial park. What's wrong with that concept? Why couldn't they make that work? Wasn't this the original intention for this airport? They never even tried to market it as such. No commercial service, what's so hard about this? -

So sorry surepip. I know you want to go home. I had a similar problem with my breathing after my surgery. Once I got up and got moving around everything worked much better. Being tethered to that bed with the oxygen wouldn't let me get up and move around like I wanted/needed to. -

Have you checked with the pool company? They usually have a couple of recommendations.

Hmmm, now I'm not a mathematician or even claim to be good at simple addition and subtraction, but I would hope those sponsor fees, the lowest being $1,000 went directly to the military, past, present and future. Because this was a "private" event with absolutely "no cost to the county", will we ever really know? I hope a list of sponsors and a check presentation to Post 111 will be in the papers soon.

I was there from about 11:00 til 1:00. The line to test the BBQ for the cook off was pretty long, but it seems that's all who was there. After searching for about 30 minutes I finally found the Legion Hall tent, bought BBQ from them, it was awesome, and got a coke next door from the East Paulding ROTC. They were wayyyyy back in the corner to the right of the stage, which had no one performing while I was there. If this was for the military, it was a little hard to find their presence except for the helicopter that was working with the training. It was pretty cool to watch it once or t

Thinking about you today as you hopefully get some much needed relief with your hip. Whoops, forgot the "e" in surepip, sorry. Still sending prayers to surepip!

Many people are opposed to this airport expansion for various reasons, some which may seem silly to others. However, they are very real to them. Every single person opposed has one thing in common, the way this deal was handled from the beginning. We were told they didn't need any citizen input for a project that has indeed cost taxpayers millions of dollars. Everyone keeps saying there aren't many homes near the airport. Poole Elementary, Ragdale Elementary, Union Elementary and Scoggins Middle School families will be impacted by this airport. Allgood Elementary is directly in the f

I Shepherd's Rest. Sure wish it was around when I was a wee little girl, sure could have used it. Those were the good ole days rockster!! One year there were so many donations, we couldn't fit them all on the float.

I have no words! You are indeed unique, so much so I find it hard to describe. LOL PS, you're okay, just stubborn and have a one track mind when it comes to politics (like most of us are any different lol)..................((hugs)) -

Let me just say one more thing, if I have typed something you don't agree with let's have a good, honest debate about it. If I have offended anyone with my typed words, I apologize. Let's move forward and put this past behind us. I mean that sincerely. -

Okay, okay...........this like most threads has morphed into the negative things about Pcom. So much negativity it makes it painful to visit. I tend to believe thanking people for what they do instead of whining about how hard things are sets the tone for a positive experience. Not everyone agrees on everything, I often laugh at TP's posts. They don't "irritate" me, they are distracting, keep the front page filled up with useless topics and most of them are not something I'm interested in reading. I find it more irritating when someone that "has a grudge" uses the board to try to -
TP is right on this. Everyone wants to take out the windows when in fact it costs more in labor to go around the openings. If you're doing it yourself it "might" save you money on material but when you're paying for labor, it's more work. Measure length x height of each surface and you will get your square footage.

Hiram is now requiring everyone to pay for a business license, even scout troops doing car washes. Boy Scouts is one of the few organizations that still expects their kids to "earn" their way to camp. Paying for a business license can keep 1 or 2 from accomplishing that goal. Sad!
