I have a great idea! I need someone to give me the money to buy the seed, plow the garden, plant the seed, water and fertilize the seed, hoe the garden and if it doesn't produce anything, they're SOL. -

Why do you refuse to admit it was the residents of Paulding County, not Delta, not Lawyers, not outside influence. The more things change, the more they remain the same. They didn't want this airport in 1972, they didn't want it in 1998 and they don't want it now. It's not about Politics it's about People. Oh and I really, really, really would like to know who won? -

Just SMH I have never made the assertion what they did was illegal, you didn't go door to door with me............I assure you they could have opted to not even open the door. Go ahead and keep calling people liars, it's just doing your site here so much good. People care, people want to be engaged. They feel there is not use since elected officials do what they want to instead of listening to the people. A government OF the PEOPLE, BY the PEOPLE and FOR the PEOPLE begins at a local level. It doesn't mean ignore, chastise and tell lies about who's supporting the opposition to fur -

I went door to door from March to May, now I couldn't possibly hit every house in Paulding County. I will tell you some people didn't know about the airport, most did and expressed their disapproval at least 3 to 1. No, I didn't just knock on registered voters doors, I knocked on all of them I could. I didn't know there was such a thing as a registered voter walking list, I went on Google Earth, looked up subdivisions and we split them among the many door knockers we had. Armed with a pencil and paper with a printed excel spread sheet I can tell you many of the residents in one candida -

Except the majority of the citizens don't want it...........those made up numbers you guys keep spewing don't exist. People opposed showed up to vote, many stayed home. We won, get over it. You might want to remind those commissioners that are still seated their election cycle is coming up real soon. -

We just went through this in another thread. It doesn't matter how many show up, it's who wins in the end. Your side was all over me for saying David Austin only got 10% of the vote in the primary. They said it didn't matter, he got 52% of the vote.........so make up your minds and get your stories togethers. 5000+ people showed up to vote against the airport and those that support it. That's more than a handful. Sorry your people that you claim are for this didn't bother to show up. -

Holland and Knight have also handled cases for Delta, are they Delta's lawyers? Get off that broken horsie, repsenting someone in a case does not make them "their" lawyers for eternity. -

No this is not the same Paulding county of 30 years ago. We now have a stronger base of educated people that didn't grow up in Austinland. They don't give a flying flip how long anyone has lived here. And you can bet your bippy it's a few more than a handful. I can count at least 5,000+ that showed up to vote for the candidates that opposed commercial service at the airport. This airport has sat unmarketed for 6 years, and now you want us to believe commercial flights are going to make it all better? It's okay, the same Authority now has the reins, no commercial flights will be flyin -

I never said it was illegal, in fact I've said they are very, very good at skirting the law. Don't put words in my mouth. They themselves proved the measly income that would happen to the school system. I'm tired of trying to get you to open your eyes about how this has been handled. You are oblivious to the underhandedness of all this because you can't find a good job. Have a good day Fox Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Tell me who is not listening to the voters now. -

Look you really, really need to do your homework. That airport will not generate but about $100.00 per school if it is successful ( a BIG IF). This whole argument has been debunked over and over. That "industrial park" would be in a federally secured location. I'm all about jobs and manufacturing, those are the same promises made when this airport was built. NONE of it is true, now the same people that couldn't bring in not ONE interested job maker in EIGHT YEARS has complete control over the airport, with no input from our BOC. As a conservative you should be very concerned abou -

Open question, What will be the next crisis in Paulding?

This is not in the same building as the court house. It's the administrative building, totally separate from the courtrooms. -

The only polling place you have to go through security is at the courthouse. It's not because voters are being threatening, they can close off that section of the courthouse, easily. Yes it will become an issue. I agree with MsGaStorm, too many people only think about today. Oh, they say they are thinking about the future but they don't have any plans related to the actual needs of residents, only their grandiose schemes. -

Thank you Mojo!! Yes I too will up my contributions toward the billboard account. I have never seen so much disgust and hatred from elected officials toward the citizens of their community. -

Who cares about election results? Obviously the lame duck BOC doesn't, well at least three of them. A must read: http://ponytailpatriot.com/section-blog/291-paulding-boc-shenanigans-continue&Itemid=82 -

Oh what a wicked web we weave. Don't like the election results, go around them. Kick the citizens and that citizens steering committee to the curb, heck who needs citizen input? This is not a win for Paulding County, this is a win for an unelected board to have control over a county asset the citizens have spent 13 million dollars of taxpayer money on. Well, that's what we know about. It's a power grab, one that will have far reaching consequences. They now have to pay their bill own bills, including legal expenses. Wonder how long that $400,000 is going to last? Yes they should -
You're right it has to be 50%+1. Thanks for making my point. We are on the same page with this, others aren't. I'm not whining, I was using the same logic as the losers are. It's a bit ridiculous isn't it? Vernon Collett got 61.57% of the votes cast...........against TWO challengers clearly more than 50% + 1 = Winner Tony Crowe got 58.70% of the votes cast, again clearly more than 50% + 1 = Winner So the "real whiners" are the ones saying this vote didn't count because of low voter turn out.
-
^^^^ Exactly my point. If you win with 75% of the votes, you win. If you win with 25% of the votes, you win. Someone needs to tell the sore losers it doesn't really matter how many show up to the polls, a win is a win.

I was the President of my Student Council for 6th, 7th and 8th grade. It was an awesome experience. I had to campaign and get people to vote based on my speeches. Taught me all about Public Speaking I learned Parliamentary Procedures and Roberts Rule of Order. You'll be proud!! -
Pretty sure the PCAA gets to keep all the revenue generated by Propeller. But the taxpayers still get to back the bonds, we just can't have anything to do with the actual airport. Oh and that citizens steering committee? The BOC and Blake just told them to go screw themselves.
-
Look, I'm just following the leader. Several of the candidates that lost and those that supported them said this didn't really count because of the low voter turn out. Just sayin'.............

Right after David Austin was elected in 2008, after he ran on Jerry not listening to the people, they rewrote the ethics ordinance. It was passed unanimously. I'm thinking when some elected officials enter office, their intentions are good. After a couple of years, they too slide right in to the same patterns as past elected officials. There is a common denominator in the past 20+ years. It has to do with the law firm that represents the BOC, the IBA, the PCAA and the BOE. Now tell us again who really runs this county.
