Here's my proposal. Tort reform by capping monetary awards for malpractice suits; if the person who files the suit loses, they become responsible for the attorney fees for the party they sued. Provide all businesses and the self-employed a 50% tax credit towards the costs of providing health care insurance for their employees and employees dependents. Let people purchase health care insurance across state lines. This is pretty much the same proposal the Republicans were offering.

ObamaCare was not a means to provide everyone with "affordable" health care insurance. It was a ruse to raise TAXES by creating a penalty equaling 1% of an uninsured person's gross income the first year, 2% the second year, and 2.5% every year after. Also note if you are uninsured for 3 consecutive months in a year, but insured the other 9, you will have to pay the penalty. This is unfair because if a person loses their health care insurance because they lost their job, they won't be able to afford to pay COBRA or buy on the exchange because of what the little financial amount they ge

Question: International Flight into Hartsfield-Jackson?

You can blame Dems as well for problems in Medicare. I do not want health care managed by the government as it will always be screwed up.

They have lower admin costs because they are not required to have corporate offices in 50 different states to comply with the regulations of 50 different states. Just because they have lower admin costs does not mean they provide better services. I have friends who have used the services at VA. For the most part they hated it and only used it because they had no choice. My parents have Tricare because my father retired from the Army in 1973. They also have BC/BS because he retired from a civilian company he worked for after his career in the Army. They also have Medicare because the

What would happen if the government shut down?
Foxmeister replied to barrycdog's topic in RECENT TOPICS
There's absolutely no logic in increasing debt to get out of debt. The government will never decrease it's debt with that kind of thinking. Sure there is always going to be a national debt, but it should never be to the point where the country has to continuously borrow money or increase taxes to function. There's a lot of wasteful spending that needs to be eliminated. -

You're the first Democrat I've heard call it a depression. All the others have been calling it a recession. I can't understand why the Democrats keep pushing for a debt ceiling increase so the country can borrow more money it can't afford to pay back. -
House passes Continuing Res. to Defund Obamacare
Foxmeister replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Do you really think ObamaCare is good for the economy? The majority of jobs being created now are part-time jobs. How's that going to make it affordable for those people to purchase health care coverage? ObamaCare is a jobs killer and bad for the country. I suspect you know that, but are unwilling to admit it because you supported it by believing what the Left was telling you. Though it's the "law of the land," it's a bad law and should be repealed. I think the Republicans are right to fight ObamaCare. The mistake I think they are making right now is they waited too long to pass this -

If the CR isn't passed and signed by Obama, the government will not shut down. The military will still get paid, those receiving Social Security will still get their checks, and government offices will be open with essential only personnel coming to work. -
Stradial, here's some interesting info on "No Time For Sergeants." The book was written in 1954 and then turned into a television anthology series in 1955 starring Andy Griffith as Will Stockdale. Also in 1955, it became a broadway play starring Andy Griffith as Will Stockdale. Don Knotts made his Broadway debut in the play as Corporal Manual Dexterity. The play ran until 1957 and Griffith was nominated for a Tony Award. During the play's three year run, Griffith and Knotts developed a strong friendship. The movie was produced in 1958 with most of the broadway cast in it, except Nick Ada

What the heck is a speed hump? Are you really referring to a speed bump, the raised strip of asphalt found in parking lots to keep cars from going to fast? If that's it, we guys call them speed bumps. Some woman must have changed it to speed hump.

What would happen if the government shut down?

What the House did was pass a continuing resolution that would keep government spending at the current level, but without any funding for ObamaCare. The CR would keep government open and operating. If Harry Reid chooses to keep this CR from a vote on the Senate floor, then it's the Democrats who in fact are shutting down the government. If he decides to (very unlikely) to put it on the floor for a vote and it passes, but Obama vetos it, then it would be Obama who would be shutting down the government. A few of you always want to project the Republicans as the "party of no," but it's rea -

I went to the rodeo one time in Cobb County and there were animal rights activists there protesting how the rodeo was abusive treatment of the cows. One of the activists was handing out literature and as she approached me, I noticed she was wearing leather shoes. I said very loudly so others around me could hear, "Hey lady, are those leather shoes on your feet?" Next thing you know, others are looking at her feet and start asking her the same thing. She became very embarrassed and left the park in a hurry. We all had a good laugh. -
Active Shooter at US Navy Yard In Washington DC

Most military installations are open installations, meaning they will let civilians on who don't work there. At Fort Gordon, they allowed civilians who didn't work for the military on base so they could play golf on the 27-hole golf course. It was one of those things that helped to fund the course and keep the costs down to play for military personnel. They also allow civilians on to visit their family members and friends who are stationed there or live on base. All they have to do is show any kind of ID like a drivers license to get on. I thought it was pretty idiotic each time they -

Most of them are doing 100% ID checks, but once they check your ID, they wave you through. The point is, if you have an ID card or base sticker they don't search your car. I've tested the system several times by giving them my drivers license and because I had a base sticker, they waved me through without searching my car. If a car doesn't have a base sticker, they most likely will search it. They need to do random vehicle searches regardless if you have an ID card or base sticker. The shooter bought the shotgun in VA. He got it on base by having it in his car. If they were doin -

To get a base sticker requires you to have a military ID card or an ID card issued to civilian employees to include contractors who work on the base. The base sticker really doesn't help with the security of the installation. A terrorist could steal a car with a base sticker, load the trunk with explosives and drive onto a military installation without being checked to see if they have a military ID card. Now how much security does that provide the installation? There have been plenty of times I have driven my vehicle with a base sticker on it and was just waved through the gate witho -

You'll get no argument from me about repealing the ethanol mandate. It's caused an increase in prices for not only gasoline, but most retail and grocery goods. I read an article a couple of weeks ago that the ethanol mandate costs us 60 cents a gallon at the pumps. -
