  1. Some of you people are really making me laugh with your hypocrisy. How many of you during your lifetime made a promise to someone and were not able to keep it because of things outside of your control? Does that make you a liar or unreliable? How many of you made future plans with your spouse or children, but those plans had to change because of things out of your control? Does that make you a liar or unreliable? I think when this airport was first constructed, it was done so with every intention of keeping it general aviation. Now tax revenues are down and unemployment up because of
  2. He's holding his hand out wanting more entitlements from the government. He expects the government to take more from the rich and give some of it to him.
  3. Please define the "poorly entitled" you refer to in your opening line.
  4. I work as a project manager for a very large company. I'm in charge of a contract with a school district consisting of 8 schools. The positions I hire people for require no skills. We teach them what they have to do. When I first took over this contract, it was a mess because my predecessor didn't give a crap. He just showed up for 5 hours a day and then went home. I have 57 employees who make slightly above minimum wage. Almost half of them felt all they had to do was show up and then sit around to get paid. I sat with each and every one of them and told them my expectations and l
  5. That is a good thing, but the left and lazy don't understand that with the entitlement mentality they have. I've met a lot of people on the left who believe a person who owns a business should pay themselves no more than they pay their lowest paid employee. Excuse me? The person who owns the business took the financial risks to start the business. What financial risks does an employee make for the business? I've know several people who started their own businesses who couldn't pay themselves very much for the first several years because they had to pay their employees and pay the bills
  6. Once the employer mandate is in effect, you're going to see a lot more people unhappy with their insurance.
  7. The problem with is public school education. Public school administrators falsely believe every kid is going to college or should go to college. They gear the school curriculum towards college prep, screwing over a lot of students who have no interest in going to college or can't afford to go to college. This is one reason the dropout rate in this country is so high. Why should a kid stay in school when he or she is not getting the education they really want? Everything is geared towards college and we end up with a shortage of people in skilled trades. We need more vocational trainin
  8. They were there to meet someone who was bringing them some Krispy Kreme donuts.
  9. One does not have to look far to find commercial airports without public transportation. I can name two I've used in the past; Augusta Regional Airport (Augusta, GA) and Bishop International (Flint, MI). I'm sure there are many, many more airports around the country that have no public transportation to them. I lived in a community once that had a small airport. This community also had many small light industrial manufacturing businesses at one time. Several of them were bought out by larger companies and their production left the area leaving the buildings vacant and up for sale. Sev
  10. If the government would repeal many of the stupid EPA requirements that forced manufacturing overseas, then we would see more manufacturing in the US. We would see median income rising and unemployment rates drop. Of course the government would also have to repeal ObamaCare to ensure these new jobs are full-time rather than part-time.
  11. The principal is now saying the woman who was a volunteer at the school would often wonder into areas that were out of bounds for volunteers.
  12. Obviously you didn't bother to look at the site either as his report had a link to a WRDW TV news report in Augusta that also told the story.
  13. I remember when you couldn't find a store open on Thanksgiving or Christmas.
  14. Here's another article following up on the story. The Richmond County School Board is standing behind the principal and now appears to be attributing the banning on "inappropriate comments" made by Tanya Mount. They will not elaborate on what those comments were. Apparently when they banned her from the school, they also took away her volunteer card. Now that she has transferred her daughter to another school, they mailed her back her volunteer card. Interesting.
  15. Well now that you have used a social media site to inform us all you have a permit and a gun, some around here may accuse you of being a mental case.
  16. I'm glad I have a Mac. Windows sucks.
  17. You're telling us all the military men and women serving in Afghanistan who post pictures on Facebook of themselves posing with their weapons have mental problems?
  18. They have mental problems? Really? Good grief you are such a loser.
  19. For the sake of argument, let's say the woman and the principal prior to this were not on good terms. Should that authorize the principal to ban the mother from the school because she posted her CCW permit on Facebook? What difference does it make the woman has a CCW permit? The law in this state prohibits anyone with a CCW permit to carry a weapon into a school building. If you carry, you must leave your weapon in the car. What threat to the school or the principal is a person with a CCW permit?
  20. If you had bothered to look more closely at the site, you would have seen he posted a link to WRDW's (Augusta TV station) news report.
  21. This took place in Augusta. Personally, I feel the principal exceeded her authority. Please read the article and vote. I'd like to see your opinions on this.
  22. The most memorable one for me was yesterday because it just happened. All the others seem so long ago.
