  1. I have found the "average student" is not prepared for college (or the SAT/ACT/ COMPASS) when they come from south paulding high school. --- we have 3 grads, 2011, 2013, 2014 and they all flunked out of regular college in the first year (kennesaw and univ west georgia). Their SPHS gpa for all my were all above 3.0, so supposedly A/B average students. They are now at tech schools/ community college (chatt tech & west ga tech) after they barely passed the compass/entrance exam. So, i would say the high school is in a balance situation where they currently "give away" A's and B's
  2. i recommend McTyre Lock & Safe on bankhead highway lithia springs for either automotive or residential
  3. and in savannah, you can be restrained and cuffed in the jail --- and the deputies will still get some payback http://www.policeone.com/corrections/articles/8545270-Sheriff-9-deputies-fired-over-death-at-Ga-jail/?utm_source=8544430&utm_medium=email&utm_content=TopNewsRight5Title&utm_campaign=P1Member&nlid=8544430
  4. i have a couple of older computers with 3.5" floppy drives, if you want to test the disks or copy the files over to a USB drive, etc south paulding area
  5. I ride marta alot and i am in atlanta daily, i have seen this sort of thing happen many times. The young black kid will always have an excuse to get close to you, like: "can i get a light" or "what time is it" or "are you getting a (cell) signal here" then comes the robbery, attack, etc Racist or not, bottom line is, if the punk is getting friendly, that means they want something from you. You best be on guard for that sucker punch or worse
  6. has the county changed the 5 acre rule yet?
  7. Sooooooo, slightly off topic, but i am a curious sort ---- who pays for the damage to the maserati? is goodyear responsible since it was one of their techs on duty operating the vehicle before his death? i am sure just the windows will be a couple thousand
  8. near downtown douglasville --- dr. tina caudill and assoc
  9. I don't see where the issue is, having personally used several of these $19.95 background check companies, i can say that all of them EMAIL you the report as an attachment, and there is an additional fee for them to physically print it out and mail it to you. Is he saying the emails were deleted? is he saying the email account is no longer being used / doesn't have access? Were they sent his personal email account or his county email?
  10. ever thought she may be here illegally or in an indentured servant situation?
  11. Sorry to hear about the roomate issues. I could not imagine the stress. I have been in tanner hospitals (carrollton and villa rica) 3 times in the last 5 years and had private rooms each time
  12. on wsb-tv " The boy was found just after 9 a.m. and deputies said the boy is in good health. Astrachan said his 4-wheeler overturned late Wednesday afternoon and was unable to get it working again. He spent the night in woods because he was unable to make it back home. “I just sat on my 4-wheeler and hoped no coyotes came,” Astrachan said. Astrachan said he tried to make a fire but it didn't work. He said he waited until daylight to start walking."
  13. had a hipaa question, but it was answered. never mind.......
  14. perhaps it is another example of those "shovel-ready" jobs
  15. Sorry, i guess i missed your 2nd post related to it. It just pisses me off when this crap is not related to public safety......
  16. So, you are saying i imagined the 8 paulding deputy cars with a speed trap at 11:30pm on the small piece (1000 FEET) of east hiram parkway that is designated a 35mph construction zone? (one laser and 7 deputies making stops) Since each ticket was written in a designated "construction zone", that means the revenue at that moment i drove by there was 7x a minmum of $250 each ticket. Looks like quite a revenue producer. And no, it was not Hiram PD or GSP
  17. I recommend Dr Woodhams, near 285/400 interchange. Approx $1000 per eye or less, depending on the exam results (free exam). You will be able to see 20/20 on the way home from laser (through the eye screen patch). 2 days with a sore eye, so best to do it on a friday. It may only last 10-20 years before you will need glasses again as your eyes continue to degrade. Some docs are performing laser again on patients that had it done in the late 1990s
  18. he should consider himself lucky that they didn't wait until darkness, bust down his door, cuff him and shoot his dog..... they are busy trying to catch as many as they can --- before it is legalized in georgia
  19. Don't be in a hurry to settle. If you are in another accident, even 20 years from now, this one will come up again.
  20. ----- and we can't ride ATVs in the designated "paulding forest" because it will disrupt the wildlife
  21. and this is another example why the average citizens fear any interaction with police
  22. Insurance claims have changed in the last few years. Today, even if you are a passenger in a MVA, it goes into the national datbase and is used against you in any future injury claims In my case i had state farm and the at-fault had liberty mutual. They both still gave me (and attorney) the run around for 18 months before paying and trying to deny almost every receipt along the way -- for the car value and medical bills (and even disputing clark ambulance fees) I don't know your SIL situation, but in my case, just the multiple MRIs over 18 months were almost $6000. Maybe
  23. Here is some advice from my recent accident (with injuries) where the other guy ran a red light : If you do not go by ambulance to the emergency room from the accident scene, then you can forget about medical injury coverage -- they will pay very little if anything. Do not got to a chiro unless you want to pay it yourself --- the insurance company will take those docs on the same level as physical therapists and will only pay you pennies on the dollar, leaving you stuck with the bill. Physical therapy won't be paid unless prescribed by a medical doctor (the P.T. won't tell you that, but
  24. I have a better question --- where are the cars and other "seized" assets from drug dealers in this county ? Other georgia counties and other states have public auctions (in person or online) for police seized property. I have lived in paulding since sheriff grogan and have never heard of any auctions in Paulding. Douglas has one auction a year as well as Cobb, etc. and they are well advertised.
