  1. praying for her and the family. Bless you and your husband for trying to help this family. If there is anything we can do collectively, please ler us know. It's amazing what is possible when lots of people contribute even the smallest amount whether it's time, money, etc.
  2. Thank you for posting!!!! My Mother was a native Mariettian(graduated MHS in 1954)and so am I. We loved this show. I sent her and Dad to see it a few years as a gift. Im gonna get tickets for us to take Dad now when Im there to visit next. So excited!
  3. CB, I miss you around here, you 'ol blockhead. I will do my best on the due date. You know, one of the first thoughts that came to me when they said its a girl was "how can I keep my eyes on here 24/7"...."those jeans are too tight....you arent wearing a skirt that short"..."no dating til shes 30....no, 35"....."ugh, bathing suit shopping with a teenage daughter"...."you want to go where with who?!". I can only imagine you've been there, Chuck. Lord, give me strength! That means a lot coming from one classy lady, BB . Thank you so much. And, yes, I bought my first pink, frilly thi
  4. haha! My Mom and, believe it or not, used to giggle about names like 'Rory' and "Roy" b/c neither of us could say them. Her name really is beautiful-a differnt first name and a classic sencond name is a perfect combination to me. When we first heard "girl" my mind started rushing with everything "girl" for her entire life. The nurse left the room, Will gave me his "I told you so's" then it hit me that all this time Moms name was the only thing we had settled on(not that we were at odds about a name, we just have almost NO ideas at all) and then the tears came....like a faucet. I told Dad nad
  5. hehe....thats how people react often with me . Before my Mother was kosher(although she was ALWAYS very devout)she LOVED bacon. Says she ate it almost daily. She gave it up first them ended up completely kosher. Since she was Messianic, a kosher diet was never imposed but a personal choice. For her, it was a personal conviction between her and the God she loved and served and never brought more attention to it than she had to out of not wanting to "use" it. I followed in the kosher life but we are not as stringent as orthodox or Hasidic Judaism. It's more of a "personal life fast" for us th
  6. You can use yogurt instead of cream cheese or sour cream in some recipes. Healthier and has a yummy new flavor.
  7. ROFL! Yall are GREAT! Thank you so much. You should know I cant do anything the "normal" way. Being a Messianic Jew has it's benefits . We get BOTH holidays! :yahoo: No bacon though.
  8. Holy moly Lady! Sounds unpleasant(the process) but I hope it works for you. You've been through so much. You should splurge on yourself and go get the best spa pedicure after any soreness is gone. You cannt beat a pedi at Natural Body at the West Cobb Avenue. Heaven!!!
  9. I can see that. My Mom and I were always best friends. Even when she had to break it down and be "mean mama" for a while, I knew she had to and I was glad she was that way. But, we always preferred each others company and I am looking forward to that. I hope I can have the same with my daughter. I know, the hardest moments in raising my son were really all about me trying to understand his thinking. No 2 people think a like totally but the girl/boy thing is huge. My Mom could basically read my mind. She filled in the gaps, if that makes sense. I never noticed it as much until she was gone.
  10. agreed! Great thread . Copying!
  11. You are such a great Santa! LGM, I especially love the 2nd pic of the three of them where Santa's laughing.
  12. that is very sweet and I DO covet your prayers. I am much better. I have had an extrememly hard time in battlling insomnia. Ive never been a great sleeper but since Ive been pregnant, it has multiplied. I never would have though it was possible to go so long on little to zero sleep. Grrrrr.....I had an ER doctor look at me and say, "well, when people are tired they go to sleep". Gaaah! That was one of those "come here you little.....! Let a hormonal, nauseus, insomniac, middle aged pregnant woman show you a thing or two!". But, I bit my tongue as well as I could. Thankfully, my Ob dr came t
  13. Raelynn. What a pretty name! I've always liked names that could either go either way-girl/boy or feminized male names. My Mom and I always thought I should have a little girl named Charley . Thank you for the wishes and the compliment. Its kinda funny not to agonize about whether or not this or that is the right name. The thought of naming a boy was looming over me. Had a few that I like a lot but I really wanted a name that MEANT something or a name sake. I am excited about a girl. Just bought my very first "girl" things today and it was so much fun! I do vividly remember though when
  14. Haha! Great idea. Reminds me of Bill Cosby saying never name your child a one syllable name. Two syllables carry much better when you're yelling.
  15. not a "dip" but REALLY good and easy with party type food. People cant stay out of this stuff.... 2 bags oyster crackers(little round soup crackers) 2 envelopes dry ranch dressing I tsp dry dill weed Drizzle crackers with olive oil in a large bowl or baking dish. Not enough to drown them in oil, but enough to lightly coat. Fold in ranch dressing(dry)and dill weed. Bake at 350 for 8-10 mins then stir so that they brown evenly and bake a few more mins til brown. Easy and everybody loves it with a veggie tray, dip, cheese tray, etc, Wow this looks great for a party! Copied
  16. I have! I had a poker/dinner party and thought it would go well with the theme. I have a really good and easy oreo cheesecake recipe I made. Then, I made the tried and true pineapple cool whip cake and alternated glasses(topped the pineapple with a cherry in each glass). I served them with old fashioned, mis-matched, long teaspoons that I bought at a thrift store. The color contrasts were great and people that were watching their weight LOVED having a smaller portion. Since then, I went to PF Changs web site to get other dessert shooter ideas. No recipes there but good ideas.
  17. I took a couple days for me to get invited. It IS crack like everyone else is saying. I have found ideas there that I would NEVER EVER have thought of and most of them are super economical and your neighbors won't have the same thing!
  18. That'd be fun....'cept I got a bump and not as "skinny" a cow as I was a few months ago.
  19. it CAN be arranged, ya know.... . You are a wonderful mamma. The boys will call you "blessed" one day when they look back and realize the value you've been in their lives. Birthing is NOT what makes a woman a MOTHER. Will is hoping for that... . Thank you, TC.
  20. Thank you all. I am feeling better and I think they're gonna send me home tonight. Ugh...there is nowhere like your own shower and your own bed! I appreciate the compliments on the name, too. It was the only name I had picked for a girl(it was easy )and no boy names, except Pubby, so it'll work.
  21. LOL you are not gonna like this but I dont know . I SOOOOOO wish I did but by the time I was old enough to appreciate the story, neither my grandmother or her sister even remembered. I think they had a few guesses at what it was and Mom didnt know either. I wish I knew!
  22. Really? We have no April or May birthdays in our family so it should be a fun time of year. Thank you. I love the name, too. My grandmother misunderstood the name her sister yelled after her to name my mom as she and my Grandfather were leaving for the hosptial back in 1936. Grandmother thought she said "Virginia Fay." When my Aunt Eunice met them later at the hospital, she said, "Well, Florence, did you use the name I told you to?". When Grandmother said "yes, Virginia Fay", Aunt saud , "ugh! Thats not what I said AT ALL!". LOL We've laughed about it my entire life and of course, the nam
