"E-cigarettes ... Impolite To Smoke In Public."

Hmm- a "hit", I believe, refers to smoking a marajuana cigerette!! Anything you want to tell us-LOL???? -
Just to add my 2 cents, call a contractor, then call the insurance company. They will give you an exact idea of the damage and costs involved. They will help you to deal with the insurance company, and they will walk you through the process (they have done it many times, and you have not.) I have handled MANY claims for a home owner that was told they weren't getting anything, and SURPRISE, they did get it fixed and paid for. Recently a friend had storm damage on a brick home, and the insurance sent a check for $17,000-seemed like a lot to her!! Thank God she called me before cashing the check

Do you let's your kids say "sucks"
pcs-charli replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Sorry-I'm a grandma and I wouldn't be "cool" if I tried. I am however, respected by most of the kids, and the ones who don't at least show me respect, know enough to steer clear of me. Like I said, if they know when and when not to use words such as that, then you have taught them something-we are talking about "crap", and "dang" and "sucks", aren't we??? Fact of the matter is kids are going to use those words and others before they grow up all the way,( and many of them even beyond that). The difference is how much they think they can get away with behind your back, and how much they feel t -
Do you let's your kids say "sucks"
pcs-charli replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I have to agree with you-I micro-managed my childrens upbringing, and it did no good. Now, raising a grandson, I have a different perspective. I "pick" my fights based on importance, and the word "sucks" just isn't that important to me as long as they are respectful, productive young people headed some where worth while in their lives. If they know when to use it, and where (maybe not in school to the teacher), I have no problem with it.The grandson is 10, almost 11, and uses it occaiaionally-always in context and never with an attitude. They are going to use those words anyway, so why make a -

You go girl!! Met NC-17 a few times and she is top rate with me. Brassy, helpful, loud and outspoken when she feels the need and a heart of gold all the time. I like people like that -they are real.

So none of us want to follow a guy with a plan if that plan is either unworkable or the guy with the plan is crazy!! How about starting with " lets get together and make a plan". Then we'd all feel like it would be about something important to all of us, with a plan we could all agree on. You may be making others feel like you are the leader, and we all should follow, when what we need a concensis on ideas. There are already to many people out there waving their own personal flag and wanting everyone to get on their bandwagon and join in. Just my opinion, but what we really need is a group of

I understand your concern, but maybe there is a measure of "assumption" in that comment. You see "grandma", and assume that this little old granny may be putting everyone in danger, including herself!! You see others asking about a carry permit, and again you figure that they never held a gun and now want one. I can't speak for the others, but as for myself, I've owned and used and practiced with a gun since I was 16-and that was in New York CITY!!! Never illegally. At first, it was a rifle, but when I left the city, I bought a hand gun. Still have the same one-and a few more. I took the hunt

That missing "r" would be my fault-a little light on the trigger finger I guess, but no worries-grandma's gun fires easily!!!

Ok-it's time for grandma to get a permit to carry her gun. Where do I go, and how do I go about it?

Question about cooking pintos..................
pcs-charli replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
MMM-now I'm hungry too. Thanks for the advise on baking soda-always trying to find ways to hold down the ;"music" around here after a bout with beans!! I also have a problem with the beans not cooking down to a nice softness. Which pintos would be best-didn't know there were different kinds. I rinse them, soak them overnight (not in the refrigerator), then I rinse again, bring to a full boil, and rinse again, then cook for about 4 hours. Is that to much, or not enough?????? -
-
Got to agree-please make mine with ketchup, and my hot dogs with mustard (and cooked onions too) Us New York gals have to stick together. Didn't know that was a problem for you southerners??? Thought everyone made their hamburgers with mustard and you had to ask for them to leave it off!! Even when I ask for ketchup, it seems like they think its sacreligious!!! They barely stain the bun with the ketchup-have to ask for extra packets so that I can have it the way I like it.

Thank you for the info-very helpful. I think it is a combination of the cold (although I put them up on cold nights in the hen house-they are a little dumb, and will not go in themselves no matter how cold it is!!), and the fact that they are not in their egg laying season-very sporadic laying, maybe one or two a dy from 4 chickens!! Can't wait for Ed to build my new Hen House-6' x 10' x 8' high!! It will have water and electric, and allow them to stay inside on bad days and have a heat source on cold days. Gotta wait for him to not be so busy-glad to have him working regularly!!
-
I know that chickens will lay less during the colder months, but something disturbing is happening. One of my chickens is laying eggs without shells!!! Never saw that before. The others are fine, just laying about half the usual amount. There was one who stopped laying after a disasterous run in with my retriever. She made it through the ordeal, but didn't lay for a while. I am thinking that it's her that has the problem now. There have been three days now with the oddest looking eggs-a membrane, white and yolk, but no shell. Today there was something bad looking attached to it-have no idea

I know that we do, and love to send them home with something to enjoy the summer with, but they need a hand in the middle of the year with those supplies. If we send a few of them along with the valentines for the class, it would help those kids and teachers out a lot more than hyping them up with candy, and sending the teacher a flower.
-
I like them too-nice bunch of people mainly. So glad to be a member here, and thanks to all my customers. You made last year one of the best years in a long time!! Seems that when I get Pcom customers, I rarely get any trouble with them. Nice, calm, easy going, sensible people-how refreshing!!

I also try to give something practical for the holidays-or at least something that shows I thought of the person I was gving it to!! Stop loading them up with nick-nacks,and frivoulous stuff. ?They don't need another "great teacher" ornament or sign, they don't need another coffee mug. Try giving them something they really could use at home or in school. A big carry-all for their stuff (mongramed maybe), some boxes and bins for organizing their classroom, supplies for them and the class that they would not ordinarialy buy themselves. This year I finally figured out what to get a man teacher-th

OK-I'm makinfg it official here in Paulding county-Starting this Feb 14th, we will have a LOVE and HELP the teachers day. Bring them supplies, bring them candy or flowers (to show them we do care) and load them up with the things they need to teach our children. Don't forget the clorox wipes if you don't want to see you kids getting sick all the time!!! Those things help keep down he germs during the cold and flu season!!

This was one of the 1st topics I posted about here on Pcom-got my a$$ reamed by some who felt they did enough just paying their taxes!! SSSOO-I'll give this a shot again(been here a while now and feel better about voicing my opinion since I know who the trouble makers are and can ignore their remarks) Do you realize how much of their own money and unpaid time these teachers give?? Would any of you purchase office supplies for your place of work, or go home and work hours a day off the books?? Well, they do. If they didn't, your children would not receive half the education they already do. Go

My Rossi 38 (named Rodney), has a plan for all five bullets-one in the head, one in the middle of the chest, and then two for the other little bits that are left. Number 5 is for back up-in case someone else is coming up behind him!!
