  1. FYI~ y'all... They want to 'sell' their dog, not give it away. They just want a 'free 'place to list the add.
  2. The same time 'funner', 'nucUlar', 'susposedly' 'suposably', and (as Blondie mentioned) 'irregardless' became words.
  3. Thank you, Ma'am. That actually clarifies a lot. Even with this, the sentence is too harsh. I hope somehow she can get it reduced significantly.
  4. Wowzers, some people are just plain old crazy, too. I worked for the Cobb County sheriff's dept under Sheriff Bill Hutson many, many moons ago when we were in the Public Health and Safety building on the square. I was in the Records and I.D dept. in the basement and the jail was upstairs. People had to be fingerprinted downstairs where we were and then taken wherever...we used to see some serious nutcases coming through there, and the stories some of the deputies related were sometimes incredible if I had not known them to be fact. People really do some really crazy things, sometimes in th
  5. Gotcha. Obviously I need to research this some more.
  6. I didn't say I knew what happened. I started the thread to ask 'why', because I did not know the situation. I'm asking questions based on what I have read. Where did you get all of your information, because I'm not seeing that in what I linked to. I'm asking because I actually want to know, not being a smartass.
  7. The abusive man violated a protective order. Is domestic abuse not often an attempted murder? I still want to know where her child was when this happened because that makes a huge difference to me. If the abusive man who was breaking the law by violating the protective order came onto her property forcing her to go outside to retrieve a weapon to protect her child , the abusive man should be shot. I don't get it. He is the criminal, not her. For 20 years its too bad she missed. I agree, mandatory sentencing is just stupid.
  8. I get that, Mr. Dis but Trayvon is dead. This woman did not kill anyone, she fired warning shots. She also had a protective order, and the other person was in violation of that order~THEY were breaking the law, not her. If she legally owned the weapon and he was on her property, she fired a warning shot. No death. The sentence is crazy. There is just no way around that.
  9. That may well be. Stand your ground or not, as a defense. The sentence is so far past ridiculous, and no one is talking about this. The man violated a protective order and if he was on her property she had a right to defend it, I would think..with my internet law degree and all . But seriously, does it mention if her child was inside when she went out to retrieve the weapon? Because I don't know any mother that wouldn't level the playing field in that way. I sure as hell would. No one was shot. This is crazy.
  10. I know. I just do not understand, I read about it last night when a cousin brought it to my attention. Granted, I try to avoid the news outlets and their hype and utter crap. I was appalled by this. My husband called it "Outrageous Bulls*t". Why? Why aren't more people talking about this? She has a child to raise, no criminal record. She was defending herself against an abusive person who she had a protective order against. No one was killed. I'm really distressed over this. This took place in Jacksonville. I wish someone would help this woman.
  11. Why, why, WHY???? This is outrageous, and it pisses me off to no end. Woman given 20 years for firing warning shots...
  12. I certainly never insinuated that it had anything to do with race. I objected to the word thug. Someone's son is dead. Nobody wins. With the influence of music and certain cultures, children white AND black AND brown and every color of the rainbow adopt a gangsta persona. It doesn't make them a thug, in most cases it makes them stupid kids. My friends all had mohawks and safety pins in their cheeks. We were just kids and we did things that made adults look at us crosseyed. Stupid kids do stupid things. In the absence of a criminal record, thug is the wrong word. I hate everythin
  13. Apparently she thinks so. Disgusting.
  14. Disgusting. And I'm not saying it was an incorrect verdict given the evidence presented. I agree with Jenilyn on that 100%. 17 years old is a child to me. Someone lost their child. That's 12 years older than my grandson, and that hurts my heart. Don't say you're sorry on one hand and call him a thug on the next breath. You my dear, are full of crap. You aren't a bit sorry..but your comment is disgusting.
  15. Great work! I rated her at 5 .
  16. Unnecessary. Fixed it for you.

Can't we all just hug it out? Welcome back, Dallas Red .
  18. I thought of you specifically when I read this, lol. You'd would just fall straight down dead, I'm sure .
  19. Ohhhh, purdy. Thank you for not killing him .
  20. Yes. The use of the word 'instigate' really bothered me in that post. I also thought 'Klan'. They used to ride into neighborhoods and 'instigate'. I'm not saying that this was the intended gist of that post, but that is definitely the image that popped into my head. Two wrongs never make a right. This barbaric murder was tragic and disgusting on so many levels. My husband is a semi driver. It's how he makes a living, and I can tell you that for any good driver with a CDL this is their nightmare. Ray says it would haunt him for the rest of his life . My heart hurts for all of
