Any educational waste is happening at levels other than the individual buildings. We're slowly smothering. -
GA Legislature to Cut $1BILLION from State Budget

Problem is, I don't know where else they *can* trim. All non-essentials are gone at the building level and we're 30-35 to a class! There simply isn't ROOM to put more kids. -
That's always my response when people talk about the future. World is ending in 2012.

None of the Paulding Educators credit unions have branches any where near me. I'm majorly bummed about that. No sense in going from Temple to east Paulding just to bank.

I'm back on track now, but I could have been saved from a lot of typical college behavior and bad decisions if I would have been able to find a church family like I have now. That church in is Villa Rica, btw.

The lead reports to the principal. The PARENTS of this child should have been the ones at the board, not the principal. It's a catch-22. Don't follow the IEP, face due process; try to follow the IEP, get your wrist slapped. The para shouldn't have been written into the IEP without prior approval from the dept. IF they approved it, then they should have provided it. If it wasn't necessary for the child to have a para, the IEP should have been amended in the proper manner. I think the county gambles on the ignorance of ESEP parents---most don't know how to fight the county and

I wish more parents knew their rights. It's a thing called "due process." If you feel your kid is getting the short end of the stick from the school, then it is the PARENT'S responsibility to do something about it. Believe it or not, the principal is the LEA...meaning it is her job to represent the interests of the LOCAL EDUCATION AGENCY (the district) when sitting in an IEP meeting. She should have been protecting the school, not the child. (It sounds harsh, but FEDERAL LAW requires certain people to attend IEP meetings and they each represent a different aspect of the student's school ex

My BIL coaches a local rec team and only had 4 kids he could rely on to make it to practice. They had to forfit a game or two because no one bothered to call the coach to say they couldn't make it and they ended up short. Had the coach known sooner, he could have rescheduled the game. He fussed out the parents and, of course, they complained to the president of the park. When they didn't get what they wanted (the volunteer coach fired ) they changed parks. I'm sure they're going to deal with the same issues at the other parks. -
I just had a little Bloodhound Gang go through my mind... You and me baby ain't nothin but mammals...

I see the impact of "everybody wins" in the schools. I teach middle school and the kids (and their parents) are having FITS because their kids are failing my class. I DON'T GIVE CREDIT FOR *DOING* THE ASSIGNMENT, YOU MUST DO IT *RIGHT*....seriously had a parent *attempt* to bitch me out over it. -
I dress up my jeans for church---nice jeans, nice blouse, dressy shoes/boots/etc. I do my hair and wear make up. As a general rule, I never do less for church than I would do for work. I started attending church where I was glared at and called out for wearing dress slacks. I told the pastor that if he bought me ankle length skirts, I'd wear them.....but I was a college student who had just started attending church for the first time in my life. I quit going a few weeks after that. It took YEARS to get over the damage that church caused.

When I spent all my moneymy parents my parents refused to give me gas money. I thought I was smarter than them and that I had enough gas to go places, however, it was before cell phones and I had to walk to the nearest payphone when the gas finally ran out. Luckily my bro came and got me. Since then, I have never run out of gas or spent my last dime

Mr. Turner wasn't insubordinate. I hope that if she takes this to Superior Court to appeal, that ONLY the facts dealing with the charge (insubordination) are presented. The relationship with Turner doesn't seem to be the issue (from the scraps of actual info I'm getting).

Aren't there several amendments that were made to the Constitution that dealt with voting? I'm sure there were 18 year old (amendment 26) black (amendment 15) females (amendment 19)that appreciate at least 3 of those 27 amendments.

No More Toys with Mickey D's Kids Meals in San Fran
workingforaliving replied to zoocrew's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Maybe they should get rid of the playgrounds too....because my kid cares more about going to play on the slides than the toy in the meal. -
There doesn't appear to be a whole lot reported, so I wouldn't put much stock in anything. I would LOVE to see a list of all the "write-in" votes

I don't mind waiting an hour or so, but 4 is obscene.

I've heard great things about BB&T and I'm thinking about moving my $ there soon.

Polling places in Paulding were reduced..... I waited an hour in Temple and I've NEVER waited in line to vote there before.

I'm doing alright. The ends meet and occasionally I can tie them into a pretty little bow. I eat out when I want to and don't stress over a trip to Target....and that's enough for me. My car pays off the same month I stop paying daycare and send the kiddo to public school....I can't hardly wait to have that $850 back!
