What are you thankful for this year?
workingforaliving replied to dumbestgirlintheworld's topic in RECENT TOPICS
It has been one hell of a year. I am thankful that my friends out number my foes, that my family is not in crisis, and a job that pays well enough to cover the bills. I am most thankful for a God who has a plan....though I wish He'd let me in on it. Oh, and I'm also thankful for kickass attorneys always the bride's maid.... We're all thankful for that too. -
Unless you have a good reason for stopping....small children in the road, objects that may damage your car, car acting in a way that is unsafe to continue driving, blown out tire, etc. I would probably stop in the road before continuing in a situation that may be dangerous. Do you know WHY he stopped? Maybe the other driver wasn't wrong in this situation. Just saying.

so who is going shopping after dinner today?
workingforaliving replied to Lady Raider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Walmart has online sales today.... And most of their big sales for tomorrow are available online. I won't be out shopping...unless I'm spending someone else's money! It's not fun, but you've got to do what you've got to do. I worked at a toy store in a mall to make ends meet during ONE holiday season. Luckily the boss liked me and put me to work in the back -
I need a meal first. I'm waiting to go to my Mom's house for dinner. I hear they're cooking pot roast

Doesn't Feel Like Thanksgiving this year

It's difficult to count our blessings in times like these. Focus on the blessings and not the afflictions. -
did you lose an old person?

I googled it and it's far. Any place closer/local?

I don't even know what a ninja turtle lighter looks like. I would blame one of the other 80 million people who were there.

Too bad. I was looking for orange.

2 for 1? Hell yeah.

You got a special rate. I'm worth far more than that. I promise.

12+ hours of my time isn't worth the $150 savings.

It's not well advertised.

HHGregg seems to have a decent deal on the tv/dvd I want....I wonder how many people are going to go there...

We do have traditions. I buy my child 3 gifts each year, one of which is something that we have to do together. The baby Jesus got three gifts and does not deserve more than Him. I apologize for my moodiness. I had just listened to people (multiply families btw) talk about how their kid wanted a big item toy and how they weren't going to pay mortgage payments, cc payments, etc so that they could buy it for their kids. I also know of 2-3 people who recently bought very nice tv's and laptops for their homes while receiving food stamps and other welfare from the government. Oh, and the stude

Are you looking forward to or dreading the Holidays?
workingforaliving replied to GipperGirl's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I'm hate what the holiday season has become. -
When there's nothing left, then there's just nothing left. Christmas has lost all of its meaning.
-
OR we can remember that Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Christ and not a season of receiving presents. The earlier that children learn that they can't always get what they want, the better off society will be. The sooner that parents refuse to go in debt to give their children "wants" and instead provide for their "needs" the better off society will be. If the government pays for your "needs" so that you can buy your "wants" then shame on you.
