  1. Something must have been seriously wrong with your service. I have a 12 meg package from Comcast, far from their highest of 50 megs, and yet I can pull 28 megs on speedtests consistently. I work with cable modem support, and I can tell you that very few areas of the country have cable internet providers that have 12 meg packages that pull 28 megs. I went online, and found a few tech forums where people had posted their speedtests with your dsl package. The highest I saw on those sites was about 6.5 megs. Typically DSL has quite a bit of trouble getting that high. That's the reason DSL is
  2. WalMart is not cheap anymore. Compare apples to apples at Kroger for groceries, and you'll find that Walmart is more expensive. Compare the same product at Target and Walmart, and you'll likely find the prices are the same, or you'll be shocked to find that Target may even be cheaper. I've seen several articles tracking the increasing prices at Walmart. I've got one listed below. The basics it's showing are that prices raised 1.9% between January and February, and 2.3% since then. That's a 4.2% increase this year. Prices rose last year as well. Meanwhile, some of the high end retailers, s
  3. What city or county did the accident occur in? Near Orlando could mean quite a few different jurisdictions.
  4. The problem with allowing drug addicts to have public assistance is that you are making their druggy lifestyle sustainable. Drug users often have to hit rock bottom before they turn around their lives. Giving them all sorts of assistance prevents this from happening. I've dealt with this with a family member, and until everyone stopped helping him, and he was homeless, and in horrible shape, he couldn't kick the habit. But once he hit rock bottom, squatting in a shack, not having eaten for a week, and close to death, he managed to get someone to give him enough money to call his parents,
  5. I'm very happy about this. Now I just hope the drug tests are or become random.
  6. I think the actual hiram store is worse than the Cartersville store, but the traffic at Cartersville may be worse. Frankly, I wish Target would upgrade to a Super Target in Cartersville, because right now there really isn't much in the way of competition for Walmart in Cartersville.
  7. There must have been an issue with your modem or wiring if dsl is faster than comcast... or else you had the lowest package comcast offered...
  8. The thing with comcast is that you've got to keep at them about the discounts. If they try to make you pay full price, tell them you got a quote of x dollars from a certain company for internet, and tell them you don't want to switch, so you're willing to let them match that. If they still won't give you a good price, talk to customer retention. If they won't help, tell them to schedule a disconnect in a week. The reps with customer retention get tracked by corporate on the amount of customers they retain vs losing. If they have some way to get the price down, they will almost certainly call y
  9. Call comcast, tell them you need a discount, or you are cancelling. If they don't give you one, cancel, and the next day they will probably call you back. That's what has always worked for me.
  10. I want to be on this jury too. Charges should be filed against the body guards even if what they and the limo driver say is true, and he did punch someone. As a body guard, or security officer, you can restrain, or stop someone from doing something harmful, but once that person is stopped, you can't go on beating the guy. With several body guards there, no blood should have been drawn restraining him. Frankly, LaBelle didn't look upset about the incident at all. I'd bankrupt the nasty female dog in a heartbeat.
  11. I don't remember all of the specifics, I worked with DJJ for a while, but it's been several years now, but I'll give you a real life example that may answer your question. During my senior prom, a car heading back from our prom location, which was somewhere in Cobb county (I skipped the mess), was stopped by police (not sure which dept, this was in 05) at a road block. The kids weren't loitering, where they stopped was directly between the interstate and the home of the first teen that was being dropped off. It was about 12:15 on a Friday night. The driver was 18, as was one other passeng
  12. I've always understood that you cannot be out past midnight without parental supervision until you are 18. I found the following on a website with some info, which looks about right: O.C.G.A. 15-11-2 (12) (E) states an Unruly Child is any child who Wanders or loiters about the streets of any city, or in or about any highway or any public place, between the hours of 12:00 Midnight and 5:00 A.M.
  13. This guy needs to be shot. This is blatant fraud.
  14. The justice system is completely broken. People get arrested a dozen times before they actually get prosecuted, plea deals happen much more often than trials, and pretrial diversion basically makes it so that if you don't kill someone, you have chances to get away with crime without even a mark on your permanent record. My parents figured out the same thing you did a few years ago. Our builder wasn't looking at the property lines when he built our house, and the one next door, and he built the house next door too far over, so that the edge of it was actually a little bit on our property
  15. This doesn't surprise me at all. Hockey just isn't popular in the south. I'll be honest, I only know a few people who watch hockey at all. I know more people who follow minor league baseball.
  16. Norton is a huge resource hog. I took it off my pc recently, and went with avg, because I got a virus that required a windows reinstall (not a reformat). I was shocked at how much faster my pc ran with Norton removed. I've used it for so long that I had just grown accustomed to it bogging down every application I ran. Not to mention that it blocked online gaming ports better than it prevented viruses. McAfee is just garbage. When people call into our callcenter with issues that end up being virus related, and we ask if they have antivirus, about half say that they have McAfee, and have re
  17. My mom got lyme's disease when we lived in LaGrange. Interestingly enough Sugail, she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about 6 months later. She's always thought there was a connection between the two as well.
  18. This is what you need to use. It's the best virus removal on the market, only thing I've seen close is combo fix, which can be overly aggressive, and cause issues at times.
  19. Amoxicillin is a fairly week antibiotic. That's what it doesn't work for many people.
  20. I tend to think most guys are not that retarted. They actually think that "She wants guys to look at her - why else would she dress in almost nothing, then go out where she knows other people will be?"
  21. Playing outside in a string bikini? There are plenty of bathing suits that don't look like they are made of floss. And please, don't try to tell me that teen girls don't know what guys like to look at their bodies, and that by dressing in as little as possible, that they will get attention. I swear, a few of you really must think that any girl under the age of 18 is retarted... 12 year olds have sex nowadays. I'm pretty sure they understand that flashing skin attracts guys.
  22. When I worked for the state, we got a break down of what local doctors accepted each of the available carriers. Most would not accept Kaiser, and a few other carriers had limited selection.
  23. I don't even see this as a morality issue. I see it as a common sense issue. I've never believed in advertising goods that are not available to those they are being advertised to.
  24. lol, if you don't want attention, don't dress in a way guaranteed to get every male within sight to look at you.
  25. Sometimes. More often, they were faking it, or just refusing to take their meds. Frankly, I feel like the mentally ill who are dangerous who refuse to take their meds should go straight to jail for several years. Some of them purposely go off their meds every now and again, like it's a mini vacation.
