  1. This is the 6th anniversary of my dad's passing. He suffered with alcoholism his entire adult life and he got really bad at the beginning of 04 when my step-mom filed for divorce. I was pregnant with my second daughter at the time and having him call and say goodbye as if he was going to commit suicide was more than I could handle. After he refused help, for what seemed like the millionth time, I decided that the best thing I could do was distance myself from him. We didn't speak for 8 months but I though about and prayed for him everyday. On the evening of Dec. 20 I got a call from
  2. My husband is in the process of transferring from Phoenix to Liberty. He hasn't had problems with Phoenix, Liberty just seems like it will be a better fit.
  3. Have you looked at the Tassimo Brewbot? I have been looking at that one and am not that familiar with the Keurig. Might be worth comparing the cost of Tassimo's coffee.
  4. MMmmm, spaghetti for breakfast! Gotta love pregnancy cravings! I think I took care of the menu for most of the week, except for veggies and some pork chops I have in the fridge. At least I know if they call me for surgery my family won't live on fast food while I am in the hospital!
  5. I went overboard...It all started with a pot of 15 bean soup then I made a meatloaf (boiling potatoes to mash now) then I made turkey spaghetti. I think I will use the rest of my turkey for some white chili. When my meatloaf comes out of the oven I am making cornbread for the 15 bean soup. I am "on call" to have surgery, so maybe the reason I went overboard is b/c they are going to call with an available OR this week
  6. YES! Santa & Mrs. Claus were awesome!! My 3 girls thought is was very special that Mrs. Clause was there since they have never seen her before! My 3yr old didn't want to get out of her lap! And she actually sat in Santa's lap, something she has never wanted to do before! They were all convinced he was not a helper, but the real deal!!
  7. I will keep an eye out for you! I live near Poole and have 2 kids that go there.
  8. It drives me crazy! I walk on egg shells everytime they come b/c I know something I do will offend them. Thankfully, their visits are short & sweet!
  9. My in-laws were visiting when my son was about 4 months old and my youngest daughter had just turned 2. They love Buffalo's and always want to go there when they come into town. They also eat very slow and like to talk too much...not a good combination when you are taking little kids out to eat. The baby needed to be nursed and 2yr old was DONE! I excused myself and took them out to the van so my in-laws, husband and 2 oldest girls could finish eating and talk a little more. Well, I found out 6 MONTHS LATER that they thought it was rude of me to take the kids out of the restaurant and they cri
  10. I have a friend that used to work at Cobb Peds. As of right now, she isn't sure where he is going, if anywhere. She suggested I send him a friend request on fb, so I did. If I hear anything form either of them I will let you all know!
  11. Tonight we are having breakfast for dinner. Last night was chicken & dumplings. Night before last we had maple glazed salmon, wild rice & steamed veggies. I would LOVE a good white chili recipe, I can't eat regular anymore b/c of the tomatoes...
  12. First Dr. Loventhal, and now Dr. Cantrell?!? All of the dr.'s are great, but Loventhal and Cantrell were my 2 favorites. I was just there yesterday and didn't notice he was gone since my kids saw one of the nurse practioners. If anyone finds him, please let us know!
  13. The movie "Elf" & Will Farrell aka "BUDDY"!
  14. I was going to suggest gall bladder, as well. I had TERRIBLE pain on my right side, front & back. I had an ultrasound that determined I did not have any stones so my GI dr sent me for a HIDA scan. It tests the function of the gall bladder. Mine had basically stopped functioning and was removed the same week! I didn't realize all of the symptoms I was having that were related to my gb until it was gone. I hope you feel better SOON!!
  15. They're already sold out I was going to buy 4 to take my oldest girls...maybe if there is enough demand they will add more. I am hoping they will add the show the day after Christmas!
  16. CE, I missed hearing your friends. I have a very hard time listening to the radiothon anyway, I can't drive & cry at the same time. Those stories always get me...and make me so thankful that my 4 kiddos are healthy!! We are miracle makers for CHOA and have been for sometime. We have had kids admitted to Children's (thankfully for nothing major) and see the amazing care they give. It really wouldn't be possible without all of the donations.
  17. We introduced our elf to our kids last year. It was so much fun!! Here are a few things our's did: *He forgot to flush the toilet one night...did you know elves pee green (food coloring) and poop chocolate sprinkles? *I have a ribbon rack with about 50 rolls of ribbon on it, he unrolled them and there was ribbon everywhere! *We found him in the freezer one morning b/c, ya know, elves DO prefer COLD weather *One morning we thought he was MIA, he had apparently gone for a drive and fell asleep in the car. He was on a stack of pillows and the seat was as close to the steering wheel as
  18. West Ridge Church West Campus @ Poole Elementary. Smaller setting with the great WR worship experience!! Best of both worlds My family attends the Dallas campus (not "small") and we LOVE it! We felt welcome from day one and have met SO many wonderful people!! I hope you find a church you love!!
  19. YAY!! I know you were relieved! You can see that I am STILL sleep deprived b/c I spelled "him" wrong in my first post! I have kids, 3 girls and 1 boy. ALL of my girls were great sleepers, 8pm-8am from 8weeks old. My son STILL does not sleep thru the night. He ends up in my bed most of the time just so I can get a little sleep. Last night he was SO restless. I see a nap in my future!!
  20. If he is colicy, his tummy may be upset. This is what worked for me...lay hime on the floor on his back and rub his tummy downward from his ribcage to his below his belly button. Alternate this with doing bicycle legs and/or taking both legs together and push them up toward his tummy. I used to do this with mine and they would just fart & fart! Next thing you know, they were ASLEEP!! I have calmed LOTS of babies this way and I hope it works for you!! I know how it feels to be sleep deprived and it is no fun.
  21. Farmers Market Baskets has an organic only option! I just signed up for this and got my first basket yesterday. I got a small, non-organic basket, I got 3 ears of white corn, 4 sweet potatoes, 1 red onion, 1 green pepper, 3 naval oranges, 4 gala apples, a head of cabbage, a head of romaine lettuce, 2 kiwis and 4 bananas...for $12!! There are bigger baskets available and you can sign up for a pick up location that is local. If you have 10 people interested, you can have it delivered to your house or business and distribute from there! The only down side is that you don't know what will be
  22. Happy birthday, Marines!! Thank you for laying your life on the line to protect and serve our great nation!!
  23. The 2 you posted looked like Frye's but the pics were a little different than on the Frye site...CRAP! Too bad they don't come in the color you want, they are SO cute!! Have you been to Horsetown or High Plains? They have great boot selections and the Frye's are less in the store than online, at least the harness boots were when I was there. ETA: There is a store at the Avenues called Charming Charlie, they have several different rain boots that are really cute! Awesome accessories, too!!
  24. Have you looked at Frye boots? These are cute!
  25. Mine was AWEFUL! I had to tell myself to eat slower. It would feel like food was just stuck with no where to go. He is in the newish medical building at 278 & Bill Carruth and also has an office near Douglas Hospital.
