  1. Elizabeth Tabhecihian. She is absolutely wonderful. She has an office in West Cobb just past the Avenues and one at Kennestone. http://www.mariettaobgyn.com/elizabeth-r-taghechian-md.html

  3. The only thing on the democratic voting page was the Presidential primary
  4. We recently switched (in September) from AT&T high speed DSL to U-verse. It was a disaster. It never worked, was slow, etc. It took 3 separate visits and 3 different routers for the service to finally work. I think one of the technicians told us that AT&T uses refurbished routers. After the 3rd router, it finally worked and we haven't had any problems since November. :-) Be careful about the speed that any company tells you they can give you out here. The woman at AT&T told us she could give us 44 mb speed and we ordered that. Turns out, due to where our house is and the
  5. There are so many good places to eat in Midtown. Do you want to be able to park your car and walk to the restaurant and then walk to the High Museum? If so, TAP is right there. It's a gastropub. A short walk away is South City Kitchen. Nan Thai is across the street- very good Thai Food. Pasta di Pucinella is close too. Very good Italian food. If you want to go very upscale, STK is across the street - excellent steaks.
  6. We were going to have leftover turkey chili, but I forgot to put the leftovers in the fridge, and I ended up leaving the container out on the counter overnight - so, to the garbage it went :-( We ended up having meat sauce served over roasted spaghetti squash. tonight, we are finally going to grill again - grilled bone in ribeye, sautéed mushrooms and steamed broccoli
  7. We are having turkey vegetable chili for dinner. Right now my husband are I are sitting in our sweatpants and watching the Avengers movie.
  8. The motorcycle driver did get cited for crossing the double yellow line. In another interview he gave, the driver said he would apologize to the woman, but not the motorcycle driver. It was road rage on the driver's part. He got upset that the motorcycle passed him and wanted to do something about it.
  9. Clark Howard was just talking about this site on his show on Thursday. He recommended it, and said the more you buy, the more you save.
  10. there is a farmers market at Paulding County high school on Thursdays from 3-7
  11. Jennifer's pet rescue is at the Hiram pet smart on weekends. We just got a lab mix puppy (6 mths old) in January. I just stopped by there last weekend and she had a lot of puppies there
  12. Just came back from Kroger on 61/278. Plenty of bread and milk, but running low on Wavy Lays. Lol
  13. Drove from Hiram to downtown Dallas - Hiram Sudie, 61 and Business 6 were fine. Tried to go to the Dallas post office and the parking lot was icy (and thepost office was closed) but that was the only trouble spot.
  14. Happy Birthday! This is a little farther from West Cobb, but its delicious (its in Marietta). It is true authentic Chinese food. There are also regular American/Chinese dishes as well. I am addicted to the green beans with olives and pork http://www.tastychina.net/
  15. This is so sad and just reinforces the fact that life is so short. I don't know why this hit home so hard for me. Probably because she was such a young girl, probably just driving to or home from work, and in one second, her life is over. Prayers for the family.
  16. If you are going to eat out, I would definitely eat at a place that takes reservations. It's just easier. If you look at www.opentable.com, it will give you a list of restaurants that are open on THanksgiving and you can make a reservation.
  17. April, that will never happen. Lol. Believe it or not, Porn is not allowed to be sold in paulding county. That's why The Gift Spot doesn't sell adult videos or realistic looking toys. It's sad that I actually know this, but my friends and I went in there one night after too much wine, and this is what we found out. I think I hear the soundtrack from footloose starting up...
  18. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good place to get alterations in the area? Nothing too complicated, just some shirts taken in and pants shortened. Thanks!
  19. This is my go to crocipot recipe from skinnytaste. I usually use two cans of beans, and a lot more corn, and a little less chicken broth. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2009/02/crock-pot-santa-fe-chicken-425-pts.html
  20. My husband and I are Jewish. We are both from New York. I was raised in NYC and where I grew up, you were either Jewish or Catholic. That's it. I've learned a lot about other religions since moving down here (the whole concept of "being saved" was new to me, because in the Catholic religion, babies are baptized when they are infants). We are not very religious at all, so the lack of temples in the area doesn't really affect us (I think the closest one is East Cobb). I've been to two Church funerals for young people since I moved down here, whose families were very religious, and during bo
  21. We recently bought a Samsung HE top loader - it doesn't have the agitator, so it is like a front loader. Home Depot will price match anything they sell, that you find cheaper someplace else. I hated my front loader, b/c it always collected mildew on the door. This is like a front loader except I can open the door mid cycle if I forget something :-) The only think I really don't like about it is that the clothes on the regular cycle come out very wrinkly. But, the washer is HUGE and I can easily fit my king size comforter in it.
  22. Thank you!! I don't post a lot on here, but this site is how I met April and Scott. :-)
  23. I just went by there and picked up two bone in ribyeyes. They are on sale for $8.99/lb. I also picked up 4 of their delicious thick cut pork chops. I grilled some last night and they were fantastic.
