  1. I left when I was 17 to go to college in Alabama which was in 1997. I went back to visit up until 2003, and I haven't been back since then. We'd like to go back and visit family. I guess since it's where I grew up I just don't see it as a place to vacation.
  2. I grew up in Cincinnati, well a suburb of Cincinnati, I would have never considered it a vacation spot.
  3. I prefer non brown water, Mississippi got screwed on the gulf beaches.
  4. I love going to Seagrove Beach in Florida, right next to Seaside where the filmed the movie the Truman Show. We go about once a year to one of the little beach places between Panama City and Destin, you could go to Seagrove, Seaside, Watercolor, last year we rented a house in Blue Mountain, lots of trendy eateries, with really good food, and then if you HAD to go touristy it's not far to Destin or Panama City. The only negative to some of these beaches is that you have to go down stairs to get to the beach, so when you have small kids and all the gear it can be a little bit of a pain. We w
  5. I make a menu and shop for that...OR our local small grocery store always has a 5 for $19.99 meat section, it's usually got some sort of beef, pork and chicken, usually the lesser cuts, but I can get a weeks (or more)worth of meat made meals for $20.00 which is a pretty good meal to me. I should probably look at the specials more, but my life is pretty crazy with 2 working parents and 2 small children. I'm lucky I can come out of the store with something to make a complete meal on most days.
  6. My agenda? My agenda is for the economy to ACTUALLY improve to the point where I, my family, and the people I know can actually feel it. I don't care who reports things are improving, I don't care if its NPR or Fox News, until I see it, it ain't happening.
  7. You could call the probation office and ask for a list of places that are acceptable for community service
  8. This is stupid human, not bank. I have on-line banking with paperless statements and I can view all 4 of my accounts and see what transactions have been made daily.
  9. She is a hot girl, she will blow up to 2 bills once she hits 40...facty
  10. So at what point do you begin to live in reality and stop believing what people with an agenda want you to believe? Do you believe it's raining when you walk outside and feel rain, or do you believe it's raining when the weatherman tells you it's raining, even though you walk outside and it's dry?
  11. Reason #6 not to shop at Aldi
  12. I check my mail every day...working from home it's the only time I really get to get out of the house. It's the highlight of my day, and when the mail jeep comes by and doesn't stop I'm heartbroken. This also brings to mind a story I saw on the news not long ago, an elderly couple who didn't have phone service at their rural house, and didn't have a cell phone, put a note in their mailbox that the woman had had a stroke and asked if the mail carrier could call for an ambulance. They waited all day for the mail carrier to come and save them. What if there hadn't been mail delivery that day.
  13. I was rearended on 65 south in Birmingham, AL about 5 years ago. The guy got out of his car (during rush hour) walked to my window, asked if I was ok, and said we should pull off at the next exit and call the police. I was shaken up, and I knew we were supposed to move out of traffic. So I called the police as I was moving to the exit ramp (it was just a few feet ahead), and as I began to exit the asshole kept going. The cops came took my description of the man and the car and told me not to hold out much hope of ever finding the guy. 5 years later my rear bumper is still dented.
  14. Similar to the college students doing vodka enemas.
  15. Bend over and prepare to pay heavily....other than that, I have no advice, I haven't been, my in laws have hinted about taking the family to Disney World in the fall this year. I think the 2 almost 3 year old by that time will love it, but I think it'll be wasted on my almost 1.5 year old at that point.
  16. I used it YEARS ago to get tickets to an Alabama bowl game, no complaints from me. Got what I paid for. Sadly, the team is doing so well, and I'm so broke I can't afford to go to games anymore....Alabama Fan Problems.
  17. I saw an ad for rural carrier down here in Dothan and it said pay was from $15-$21 an hour. Not sure if that's for a full 40 hour week or not. I rarely see postal delivery anytime after 3 in the afternoon.
  18. Can you enlighten me, since I'm too poor to frequent these fine establishments, do the washrooms really smell like roses? Since people that can dine there usually believe their sheeze smells like roses, I wondered if it was true or just an old wives tale.
  19. I don't put anything on facebook that I wouldn't stand in the middle of town and show or talk about. So I'm really not worried that anyone would have access to what I have. My settings are set to friends only and I am not willy nilly about adding people I have met in person or spoken to.
  20. I'm in suburban Dothan between Columbia and Headland. But I travel to Hiram at times. I still have family there.
  21. There is one in Hiram, I just can't remember the name, they're on main street up past the city building and post office on the left if you're coming from 92
  22. No one wants to meet me?
  23. I deal with residential foreclosures in TN and GA, it's not a strictly Paulding County issue, real estate is all about location, I would say overall, it is pretty bad, but there are pockets around the state and region that were not hurt by the recession, and those places aren't suffering as much. But to look at one city or one area in a city and say things are going well is just wearing blinders. When I first got in the business in 2003 I was working for a title company that did searches for residential loan closings. We were busier than a one armed paper hanger. We couldn't get the work d
  24. I work in the foreclosure business, and business is good. VERY GOOD. Residential loan closings on new sales....not so much.
  25. I'm just trying to figure out why anyone cares.
