This is scary for those with tree nut allergies. I'm surprised that they didn't already have a "may contain peanuts, tree nuts etc." label on the product. I am "allergic" to peanuts (its actually a deadly anaphylaxis, but most people don't know what that is), and its hard to find ANYTHING chocolate that doesn't say "may contain peanuts" just to cover their butt in case some get into their product (they don't clean equipment between different candies). My reaction to peanuts was off the charts when I was diagnosed back when I was 3. I'm 25 now. Basically eating a tiny speck of peanut co

Dept. Store in Hiram Checking IDs on all CC Purchases
jsbeagle replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
In most cases, asking for an ID is actually against the agreement the store has with the different credit card companies. They also are not allowed to offer different prices for cash or credit sales (like a cash discount, or credit card markup). Lastly, they can't make you purchase a minimum amount of stuff to be able to use a card. With that said, it sucks to be a merchant, because they always get the short end of the stick. If a charge is disputed, they don't get paid. On my cards, along with a signature, I also write in "please check id". You are required to sign your card (and it -
If you hired your own inspector, you signed something that made them not liable if they missed something. Inspectors that work for a county or city cannot be held responsible and only serve to ensure the builders are following building codes (International Building Code 2006 or International Residential Code here in Georgia, with the Georgia amendments and any local amendments). If a government building inspector misses something major, I'm sure the municipality would like to hear about it because it could mean their job, but ultimately it is the contractors job to fix the problem. From what I just read about a Bubba Keg Grill, they are made out of steel. http://www.bubbakeg.com/Bubba_Keg_home.aspx Whatever that is that Sams is selling is ceramic like a BGE and not steel.
-
I'm not sure if I've seen them in Hiram, but the one in Marietta (across from the Big Chicken) has one just inside the door and more with the other grills. There seems to only be one size.

Sams has a very impressive knockoff. It seems to be just like a BGE, only its black. The price is much better: $500 to 700 for a big one. I can't remember exactly how much it is, but it does come with a stand.

We went into the Taco Bell at 278 and 92 Sunday around 6 and it was packed! I didn't think that many people actually ate there.

Merriam-webster racism: a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race I don't see how what she said is racist. She didn't say that caucasians were superior. She should be free to choose what children she keeps. She obviously shouldn't have stated that in the ad judging by the reactions it got, but who really cares? Its not like the miss black usa pageant actually has to say it outright, but everybody knows that blacks are the only ones welcome to compete.

I've got basic versions of both Tomtom and Garmin. The Garmin has better maps and more points of interest. The Tomtom has a better user interface.

I've gone through Atlantix before. They mostly sell tickets to things like plays and events at a discounted rate on the day of the event. You have to actually go to one of their ticket booths (Underground Atl), but they have Zoo Tickets for $15.04. http://www.atlantaperforms.com/Discount-Tickets/Cultural-Attractions.html

Depends on where it is. I've seen similar looking plugs for things like trolling motors. I'm sure its in the manual if it wasn't added by a previous owner. You might try checking it with a voltmeter - try all pairs of combinations of the pins. I bet you'll find ~12v or so somewhere on it. It could also be for a fish finder/depth finder.

Oh Man, I just got rear-ended in my truck on Ridge Rd!
jsbeagle replied to subby1's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I usually leave a hitch on my 4runner just as added protection, but I've worried that if I got hit, it could do damage to the frame/towing guts that I wouldn't notice right away. I'd love to know if ya'll noticed any problems after getting your hitch hit. A similar thing happened to us in Dec 08, only much worse... We were sitting at a red light in my wife's civic on Barrett Pkwy near Chuck E Cheese. We had no notice until we got plowed into and the car that hit us (another civic) went flying over our car and ended up hitting a truck while in the air before ending up upside down in -

With those big thick ends on it, I think it would have to be something that is intended to get heated and remain hot for a while. Straightener actually makes some sense.

I was eating some crackers one time and had one come up behind me and put its paw on my shoulder. It scared me, but my reaction was to immediately turn and knock the $$$$ out of it. This was in St. Andrews State Park in PCB. Anyway, they'll eat just about anything, and do anything to get it.

Homemade business signs banned in county
jsbeagle replied to AustinPlantation's topic in RECENT TOPICS
If there is an exception for temporary signs, I would think window markers would be ok. Here's an interesting question.... Can a sign company legally make their own sign?? If the law reads like its explained here, then technically if a sign company manufacturers their own sign it would be "homemade" and thus, illegal. -

There is no reason for them to come to the door twice. If they were there to notify you then they could leave a note. I've heard stories from mostly up north about utility resellers doing hardcore marketing. This could be happening with our crazy natural gas market in Georgia. Why on earth did we decide to add a "middle man" to the process?!? Deregulation only makes sense if all the marketing companies weren't getting their gas from AGL in the first place! With suspicious people that show up like that I'm always tempted to answer the door wearing a holstered firearm.... I usually ju

No more Friday night seafood buffet. I actually preferred the Sunday brunch buffet. I prefer my crawfish, clams, and mussels hot rather than cold, but they use peanut oil so I have to limit myself to non fried stuff if I want to live. The lamb on sundays is good though. Its a shame that government is so bloated that it can't fund things like state parks. I've dealt with the DOT enough to know how government entities are run.

ARE YOU REGISTERED TO VOTE? DO YOU KNOW WHERE TO GO
jsbeagle replied to lowrider's topic in RECENT TOPICS
We moved into Paulding last year and haven't registered to vote yet. I also haven't updated my driver's license (shhhhh). Should I just go change my address with the DMV and be registered to vote that way, or should I actually register to vote separately? -
What are the most abundant gas stations across the U.S.?
jsbeagle replied to aberdeen's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I've never been to a station that didn't accept discover except Costco and thats because they have an exclusive deal with Amex. -
I bet they'd microwave or toast the meat before they stuck it in the sandwich. The sweet onion chicken teriyaki is good and has actual pieces of chicken.
