  1. I do believe that the coroner drives a white Suburban????
  2. My son's friend is opening it and he has been helping him get it ready. I think it's going to be a nicer place when they are finished!!
  3. Not going this weekend!!! Beaches are double red flags and the beach patrol was giving tickets yesterday if they caught anybody in the water except for surfers. Friend said they were expecting at least 20 mph winds today and supposed to get worse as the weekend goes--and rain into next weekend. So, I will just save my self from driving 6 hrs to sit inside another house and wait and go in a few weeks--when we can be on the beach!!!
  4. Looking at weather.com---they have rain until later next week--and not just scattered showers!! Think I will just stay home and go down in a couple of weeks when it clears up. Not much into driving 6 hrs to sit in the house and watch it rain!!!
  5. Can't make my mind up. Supposed to be headed to PCB tomorrow, but my friend that lives down there says they are predicting 80 and 90% chance of rain all weekend. All the beaches have double red flags and they are only letting the surfers in the water. The beach patrol was all over folks today for just barely walking out in the water. But since a good friend of ours (big 6'4" 250 lb guy) got caught in a rip tide a few years ago and drowned---we never get in the water on double reds. You have to respect that water!! Guess I will go ahead and load the car and make my mind up tomorrow. The who
  6. And where are these chickens in Cobb County???
  7. Exactly why I will not post vehicles. My mother drives a van like that and we don't live too far from there---took me a few to get in touch with her--all the while I am sitting in Vinings. Don't like those kind of feelings at all.
  8. I am planning the same thing (just going by myself to visit a friend)---hoping that storm in the gulf goes the other direction. My friend in PCB is keeping me posted.
  9. I was there early this morning. Seven nameplates out and only 2 working the counter??? And neither was friendly at all. And they have signs posted all over the courthouse about the furlough days--not another one until January. So at least folks won't be complaining about not having money for christmas because of the furloughs. Geez--if $100 to $150 a month is gonna put you overboard--newsflash--you were already there!!!
  10. Glad I saw this--will have to go in the morning to get my tag!!! Was gonna wait til Fiday--but don't guess I will now!! And the county employees will get a nice longer weekend!!
  11. Yep--that little $280 donation to the State of Alabama taught me a lesson!!! The sad thing was, I was in a bunch of traffic and everybody was going about the same speed, but that was when I had the Mustang--and of course he pulls over the Mustang!!
  12. I have only been driving EW connector for a month and have seen them several times!!!
  13. And of course you can't forget the good ole city of Powder Springs. It has been a speed trap for as long as I can remember and I started driving in 1975!!!
  14. Oh gosh---I hate all those little "towns". Headed that way Friday. Never had a problem in those little towns, but you better watch that highway coming out of Phoenix City--I know several folks that have got tickets there--including myself!! Heading home, kindof in a curve, where that little building sits that he sells ice cream!!
  15. You should be able to endorse it with "Not used for intended purpose" and the bank will either deposit for you or issue another. If it is a joint account, they may or may not let you do it without your husband.
  16. I know Jimmy 's brother, Dean and his wife Marianne. Crazy folks!! He plays with Jimmy a good bit at the Tilted Kilt in Kennesaw.
  17. I have had GEICO for over 20 years and yes--if you drop a car--you loose your discount. Same thing happened to me, but I have not been able to beat their price. And just the fact that I have been with them for so long (had 3 teenagers added to my policy in 3 years and had several claims over the years), I am afraid to change. Now days, if you are new with a comoany and have a good sized claim--they will drop you like a hot rag!!!!
  18. Win it---sell it--buy reasonable home in PCB (Inlet Beach Heights)--and retire.
  19. Thanks for the update. As I said before--I never heard them say the ages or extent of the injuries. Saying a prayer for everybody involved. Please keep us updated.
  20. And just in case it is anybody's business--I do have a scanner in my home(as do a lot of folks in this county). It belonged to my son and he left it here when he moved out many years ago. My dad always had a police scanner and it started from his employer, back when you could actually listen to the Cobb COunty calls because they were having schools broken into. And yes--when I hear 5 or 6 cars flying down Hiram Sudie with sirens blasting---I will turn the scanner on to see what is going on--just like most folks would do if they had one. Do I listen to it all the time--NO. And even if I
  21. The Luci tote. I have to have a bigger bag--can't stand a small purse!!
  22. And that was my sole purpose in posting. Having lived right on Hiram Sudie (not in one of the subdivisions off the main road) since 1964---I know how heavily this road is traveled. Heck, at times--I can hardly get out of my driveway for folks flying down the road. Even my son had to go down Hiram Parkway (refuse to call it the real name) and circle around Nebo and 61 to get home because they had Hiram Sudie shut down from the parkway to McClung.
  23. I do know that if they get to an accident and it is a confirmed death--they NEVER put any info on the scanner. I guess they are just doing it for any type of serious injuries also. With the age of computers and the fact that most law enforcement have them in their cars---scanners will probably be useless in a few years.
  24. And see---I never even heaard them say any ages of the patients over the scanner. They are telling less and less on there these days.

    Food Stamps

Yep. And just remember--all these gals you see on the news when their "baby daddy" gets killed in drug deals, drive by's or by the police--are drawing a big ole check within a couple of months!! And they probably never recieved the first penny of child support while he was alive. We used to have all kinds of folks come in at my former job to fight for disability. The ones that were really disabled or injured in some way--had to fight the hardest.
