  1. groupon has discount tix online -- $12 for air show only and $49 for airshow and the concert https://www.groupon.com/deals/gl-wings-over-north-georgia-1-9?utm_campaign=1029&utm_medium=afl&utm_source=GPN&tsToken=US_AFF_0_1029_1327_0&sid=723a122c671711e584636ee79744c2150000
  2. Whether it is MS Office or the the antivirus that comes with a "free" trial with that new laptop, be aware of the subscription fees that come later. They will auto bill your credit card after the trial period. Everyone has their own opinion about the extended warrantys on laptops. You have to decide whether you want to buy the insurance or assume the risk. However, if you read the small print on some store extended warrantys, it does not cover the laptop screen (which is the most common area to fail crack/break) If you are not afraid of slightly used laptops, you can get good deals
  3. Similar to tree cutting, if you only have 1 or 2, then it is much cheaper to do yourself than call a company. Most all tool rental places will rent a stump grinder for 4 hours or a whole day. They have small ones and large grinders. Some rental stores will deliver and pick it up and others you will have to pull it home with a trailer hitch. Home depot rents a small one really cheap for 4hours
  4. meanwhile, back to the original topic....... The city of Denver has changed its policy this month on police shooting into vehicles: "Denver police said Tuesday they have changed use of force guidelines following deadly encounters between officers and drivers, saying police can no longer fire on moving vehicles unless the driver is shooting at officers or civilians. "We want the first reaction to be get out of the way versus pull your firearm," Police Chief Robert White said at a news conference.Under the previous guidelines, police could fire on a car if it was simply bea
  5. Good eye on ya! Most people do not check the credit card statements each month for accuracy. I would not so sure about it being and honest mistake -- i mean really, are the buttons for $5 and $30 that close together?
  6. the jail is over-crowded with all the marijuana possession arrests...
  7. We bought directly from north georgia turf and installed a couple of pallets of zoysia ourselves. Their farm is off hwy5 between douglasville and whitesburg. I thought the delivery was kind of high considering they were about 20 miles away, so we got 2 pickup trucks and they loaded a pallet in each. About +-1500 pounds. Using the kids, both pallets were done in an hour or so. We did alot of prep beforehand to spray / eliminate weeds and filling in holes and low spots, but it really was not bad of a job. If you till up the soil ahead of time, it will bring up alot of seed and they will sprout
  8. Since the burn ban starts next week, there will probably be alot of burning the next few days and over the weekend.
  9. Like i said earlier ----- who pays for the usage of the paulding county patrol cars that are located at these "private security" contract / employment at banks and greystone power offices every day? I am not saying that i am against the practice, just making sure everyone takes off their rose colored glasses and realizes that the little wink wink stuff like this and going to grocery stores, etc is going on, no matter what the "official policy" is.
  10. who pays for the officers time and the use of the patrol cars that are located at greystone power and several private banks in paulding every day monday thru friday 8 to 5 ?
  11. here is their web site with prices: http://www.westgeorgiaspayneuter.com/wgservices.html neuter cat: $35 neuter dog $55
  12. I took my dogs (and cat) to west ga spay and neuter clinic, near downtown villa rica. It has been about 5 years, but it cost $45 for neuter plus $10 for rabies shot if you are not current. They are an assembly line clinic and do 30-50 a day This week i saw a so called "free" clinic advertising in the paper for only residents of zip 30132
  13. No, he is an ass because he thinks the rules do not apply to him. As for a couple of the many examples, he would be burning each summer during the burn ban and when i call, the fire dept comes out and tells him to put the fire out -- no ticket, just a warning. When i file a written complaint about a junk car to the marshals office, they come out and give him a warning, etc. He just turns the car around where the license plate cannot be seen, and the car is still there 3 years later.
  14. I got 3 tickets in 2012 courtesy of the marshals office and the ass next door. Cost me almost $500 in "late" permits and fines for a 16x16 wood shed. I went to court and got out of 2 of the 3 tickets I was told that any shed (even plastic or metal or prebuilt or bought at home depot) larger than 100 sq ft must have a permit. Electricity and plumbing require separate permits. Part of the inspection process is the tax assessor comes out, measures it and takes a picture so it will show up on next year tax roll
  15. recently went through this issue --- you must get a permit if it is bigger than 10x10 ----- 100 square feet you have to get a separate electrical permit for ANY shed with power going to it the shed / building cannot be further forward than the front of the house has to be more than 15 feet from side property line everything was fine until the neighbor made a call.........
  16. Since you are a credit union member, you automatically get minimum $1500 life insurance policy ---- so, that penny in the account would be well worth keeping the account open
  17. Hey, i wonder if he was an Organ Donor ?
  18. how far far do you want to go ? for a $50 bus ticket, you can go and get this 2005 g3500 that has only 23k miles and drive it back : http://www.govdeals.com/index.cfm?fa=Main.Item&itemid=236&acctid=5534
  19. here are both sides of the fence: policed officers are allowed to use lethal force involving a fleeing felon in this case, the officers were expecting trouble --- due to the fact there were 6 officers dispatched to serve a probation violation warrant the only windows that were shot on the car --- the rear window and the passenger side windows (none at windshield) if this were a "celebrity", would the probation have been revoked due to traffic tickets?
  20. i would imagine it has something to do with him singing -- you ain't nothin but a hound dog......
  21. and you would need invisibility too, because finding out the truth about the grassy knoll, roswell, etc could put a target on your back
  22. why of course, Priester's Pecans --- the best pies and divinity around (I-65 exit 142)
  23. It is only an issue of storage --- if you are going camping, etc, then leave the bloom on and you will not have to refrigerate them to protect from spoilage. They will be good for a few days and do not need to be cold. As a side note, once you wash off the bloom, they tend to absorb any smells surrounding them. So if you want to freshest, most natural version, then wait to wash, even if you do put them in the refrigerator
  24. the weather was nice, you should of went this year -- it is only a 7 hour drive sunset on bourbon street:
  25. We have been both north and south on PCH. If you like mountains, cliffs and amazing views and bridges with very little traffic, then at least spend some time north of San Francisco. Also, the sequoia trees are closer to the coast in that area. Nothing like standing next to a tree that is 30feet wide and 250feet tall. If you have time, go as far north as eureka. It is cooler up there, but since you are going in sept, just need a light jacket typically. Before you leave town, walking across the golden gate bridge is pretty neat. Heading south, you will see less of the mountains and scen
