Do any of you know if it's worth fixing a ceiling fan. I have one that is probably 8-10 years old. It was a nice Hunter with remote control. It was working fine this morning. Now when we turn it on, it just humms. Any one have ideas on whether it can be repaired, or who to have look at it?

Georgia Highway 92 - Public Hearing Open House
DonBrownJr replied to MillCreek's topic in Paulding County NEWS
It's my understanding that all the design work was done for these projects, only the funding for actual construction and maybe more right-of-way purchases remains. I know some right-of-way was purchased 2-3 years ago. I don't know how much of it, but it was started, and then funds were cut. That is probably the result of the state capitol trying to punish our former representative, but no real proof of that. -

Georgia Highway 92 - Public Hearing Open House
DonBrownJr replied to MillCreek's topic in Paulding County NEWS
That is a great project, and the changes in downtown Douglasville are way past needing to be done. But... What about the 2 or 3 major projects for widening 92 from Hiram to the north that have been on the books and approved for 8 -10 years? Why are we spending money designing projects when we can't pay for the ones that are already to start construction? -
Any one else having problems with pharmacy
DonBrownJr replied to DonBrownJr's topic in RECENT TOPICS
mrs g, that is always best, but our Dr. says to have the pharmacy contact them if you need refills. Again, I'm not putting the full blame on the pharmacy yet! What happened to getting a prescription and having it be good forever! Medications that you'll be taking till you die shouldn't have to have a Dr. rewrite it or re-approve it every 6 months. That's crazy, and adds how much cost to the system. Fluffy, that's why we moved to Kroger from RiteAid across the street. They were constantly miss-filling prescriptions and alway had to wait on them. Refills that were called in would -
We seem to be having a problem with the Kroger pharmacy on Ridge Road. We swapped to this pharmacy right after they opened, and were so pleased with them. Lately, we have had a time with getting prescriptions filled when the refills run out and they have to go back to the Dr. for another prescription. I'm not sure if it's them or our Dr's office, but it is getting common for it to take 4-5 days... the Dr says they send it 2 or 3 times, but the phamacy says they request it 2 or 3 times and never get it. Anyone else having this problem at this Kroger? If no one else is haveing any issue

I have to agree here... if you don't trust someone to discipline your child, then they should not be left with them. If you do, then there should always be guidelines given. A first time babysitter, I would expect that you give them directions on what to do if the child acts up. If not, then you leave it up to them to make decisions.

Which corner is this? I have lived in the area for 20 years and didn't know there were any graves.

That truly represents what this day is about! Remembering and paying respect to all those who offered and gave their lives so that we may enjoy our freedoms here.

a little garlic, worchestershire, and Jack Daniels... then a little butter as they're cooking.

Amen! Nice post. The holiday has lost so much meaning in the last several years. It's just the "start of summer" and a big day of sales.

Hearing some big booms here in SW paulding... looks like everything in N-NW of me though. Radar shows some pretty good rain falling around Dallas-Acworth. Of course, it shows that we're green (getting rain), but the sun is out!

It is one of the better shows out now. The guy playing Walter is an excellent actor... cracks me up. It's hard to see where the plot line will go next year. I hope that it doesn't become another cancellation for a mindless "reality" show. -
Mom asks deputy to scare child into behaving

At 15 or 16 my dad had me handcuffed and put in the back of a police car! I wasn't unruly or anything, but he wanted me to know what it felt like. Even though I knew it wasn't for real, I did not like it one little bit, and in my later years, I think it kept me out of some trouble that other friends got into. -
LOL... Fun times!! Typical teenager. While it doesn't seem like it now, you will look back and laugh and remember these times. Don't trade him off too cheaply!

The intersection of Swan Dr and Nebo is actually the responsibility of the City of Hiram, not the county. We do not need a stop sign there! We need people to stop acting like they own the road, and pay attention to things outside the vehicle! The only thing that would be good is for the speed limit to be enforced... but we have had people on here complain about that in the past too! Even though the traffic light is only a few hundred feet away, and we have a good sight distance, I have pulled out going east, and almost got rear ended by a car that wasn't even in sight when I pulled o

I haven't heard anything, but I can't believe they reopened the crossing without gates.

Check this link for the county parks and rec camps. http://www.paulding....ex.aspx?NID=576 I looked a little closer, and it seems most of these start at slightly older ages, 5-8. Give them a call though. There may be something available.

Mark, because you know where he is, you have not really lost him. I know it is hard to think of it that way, but we just have to wait a while to see them again. I know that is not too much comfort on the surface, but it truely is a blessing to know this when all else has failed to provide any comfort. May God bless you and your family with his Grace as only He can through this tough time. My door is always open whenever you need to come in.

Prayers said. My God hold this family close.

Yes they do, but indirectly. The property owner pays them, and then the renter will pay the owner through the rent. Then everyone pays through the SPLOST taxes.

Jacks, Dairy Queen, and TastyFreeze were all before McDonald's. The McDonald's put Jacks out of business since it was just across the street, but it took a little longer for the DQ to go under. I'm not sure when the TF closed.
