Welcome to Paulding! I moved here from Maine myself 3 1/2 years ago to be closer to my boyfriend's family, and hoping for work. Although I have to drive at least 45 minutes to work, I feel fortunate that I have a job. I was working 2 months after arriving. I am also fortunate that I landed in a good place like Paulding as well. I was so clueless, I could have moved to Fulton Ind. Blvd and not had a clue!!

Did they change the traffic lights in Hiram--?
MaineGal replied to MaineGal's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I did think that, but it happened rather suddenly. -
Okay, for 3 years I have hated driving through Hiram. I go through every evening around 5 o'clock, and traffic is horrible. I swear it took me longer to get through Hiram, than it took to get from Thornton Road. Anyway, for the past week or two, it has been great!! I have even gone straight through a few times without having to stop. So, did something change? Please dont tell me that I cant tell Green from Red because that would be disturbing!

As fast as I can!!!! I am the only one who drinks it, so I just make instant. I have 1 cup when I get up, and take 2 with me. One spoon of coffee, add water, then French Vanilla Creamer. I HAVE to have my french vanilla. I do like it from a coffee pot better...but the hassle is not worth it. I really would like to try some good expensive coffee someday...I just buy the cheapo Kroger brand. I love my coffee strong.

I'm pretty sure you can go online and request a copy of his DD214. I helped a coworker get his a while back. It seemed pretty simple. Happy Veterans Day!

I am very sorry. Prayers for the friends and family.

Thank you for your service..Happy Veterans Day!

I'm sure you struggle with this decision. Especially how even jurors are not allowed to hear all of the information. Remember, you were called upon by your fellow man to make this decision. Like LPPT said, jurors do not make the decision, the person that committed the crime did. Thank you for your service.

I have no problem with parents doing what they have to in order to teach them and I would myself. However you must understand that any loud outbursts will cause people to look. It is human nature. And if I was to say something about someone elses child it would probably be something along the lines of how grateful I was to be shopping without mine! If you are that comfortable with the way you handle your children then you shouldn't care what others think. I don't!

Wow! Were you riding with me this morning? I was thinking the same thing.

Do you do this every day? How much baking soda? I want to try it. I have to switch between Pantene and Garnier Fructisse because if I use the same kind for too long, it makes my hair feel gross for some reason.

I agree, if they are in prison, they should be working...BUT then you would have all the bleeding hearts saying it was cruel and inhumane.

I couldnt agree more. A while back there was discussion about bringing the death penalty back to Maine and it was being said that it actually costs more to execute them. The reason being is because of all the appeals they are given and the time and money it costs to fight the appeals. If there is no doubt that they committed the crime, I believe in getting it done fast. I was discussing this the other day at work and was asked if it was one of my children on death row..how would I feel. Well, I would be sad, but, I couldnt justify someone else getting hurt. Didnt the mother of the man wh

I think my biggest pet peeve is having to wait for my bill. When I'm ready to go...I'm ready!!

I understand what you are saying. I will not tip, just because it is expected. If the person was down right lousy--the tip will reflect it. I just think different people have different expectations. Would it be right for me to short a tip because a server hovered over me? No, because many people expect to be hovered over. If they walk by my table and dont even glance my way to see if I need something..that is bad. Their attentiveness, like you say, is very good way to judge.

Give me a break. Obviously I wouldnt buy an extra car because someone works on commission. Some of you can be so absurd--I never said anything about "extra"--please explain how "extra" pertains to anything I said. Anyway, to answer your question..if I cant find someone to help me with shoes for example, I leave without purchasing anything, resulting in no commission. If I purchase the product the salesperson gets whatever commission their employer has decided. Really quite different circumstances that arent relevent to one another. Do you ever expect a car salesman to lower the price of

HOW RUDE!! Coming on here talking about homemade chocolate chip cookies!!! Do you have enough for everyone?? We had rotisserie roast, mashed taters, corn.

I look at it this way--I know the way the pay system works for servers. I did not create it...but I know how it works. When I enter an establishment..I know my tip is considered part of their income. Many of them are young people trying to make their way through school. I personally, dont like being hovered around when trying to enjoy a meal with my family. Others want the server to stop by every 5 minutes. Will I give less of a tip for hovering..no. How is the server to know what exactly everyone prefers? If they are busy and understaffed, it is not the servers fault, as they do not mak

Thats why I tip well!! We were always told the average tip was double the tax amount. I do that, plus add on for good service!
-
I'm so sorry to hear this. God Bless you and the family in this difficult time. It must be hard for you, but remember you are making a difference by being there for them.
-
I always tip above the normal amount, if they are deserving of it. If the food is wrong..it is not always the servers fault. If you ask them for something, and they forget, yes, I get irritated, but they will still always get the normal tip. So, basically, they start out with a "fair" tip, and with good service it increases! I owned my own restaurant, and I know how tough it is for them to make a living.

In case I haven't mentioned it recently ... I HATE drunks

I hope this officer is doing well and has no long term injuries. I also hope the suspected drunk driver is well enough to answer for what he has done. I dont just hate drunk drivers....it is ALL irresponsible people that choose to get behind the wheel of a car and endanger the lives of others. -
I dont know of any cooking classes, but there is a show, I think it is "Good Eats" that is very entertaining and educational. He tells about HOW different foods work, as well as the cooking. I really enjoy watching it, and it is far more entertaining than most cooking shows.
