Maersk Alabama repels 2nd pirate attack with guns
MaineGal replied to NewsJunky's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I agree. I'm just glad they had protection. My brother spent years in the merchant marines going to 3rd world countries and a close friend is currently out. Neither of them have been on ships with any sort of protection. You would think it would be mandatory seeings how they can carry high dollar stuff. They go through fire training among others and should go through defense training as well. -
Honest people! Lol!

This makes me SICK!!! I pray for this baby, and I'm happy (in a sad sort of way), that she is not hurting anymore. I wish it could have been different.

I'm not replying to any "one" post, but thank you LTD, BeachBum, Praise Thee..(and I know theres a couple more) for your posts. Depression is an illness that is VERY difficult to control. Often times you dont even know you are depressed. Mr. Richardson evidently hit rock bottom, and realized his. My heart goes out to him. AtlantaBry---if I knew someone that was battling depression--why wouldnt I want them looking up to him?? He is a public figure who is taking the strides to admit his illness and seek help. Would it had been better if he didnt speak out?? Just a public figure admitting a p

Keep in your thoughts all your LEO that are away from THEIR families on the holidays, keeping US safe!! Holidays are a time for family, not a time for tragedy. -
Oh, lets see. One step son is coming from Maine, and the other is coming home from Fort Stewart Youth Challenge. The in-laws are coming from Florida and Roswell. We are excited because we havnt been together with our 4 children for quite some time. There will be 9 of us..and I'm cooking. I work Wed and a part-day Friday, so we will be having dinner on Saturday. We have many things to be thankful for, and are really looking forward to a nice day with FAMILY!!

Yah I agree. These guys dont have it easy, and its good they can find some humor. There was just an article about what horrible things officers see and how they deal with it. I think its healthy. As well as our troops. They cannot be expected to live life like they have a stick up their.....

Yes, only one of them I think. Evidently there was a hidden agenda.

Wal Mart has an advertisement on the desk in their photo department where you can get laser imaged gifts from a photo. I have a picture of the in laws' dog that I want to do this with for a little Christmas gift. The gifts are the picture etched in glass like a frame, keychain, etc. Do any commerce members do this? I would rather keep it local...before resorting to Wal Mart. I'm open to other suggestions as well...something that will have a picture of Henri in/on it.

How will it get overturned? Isnt it public knowledge when prosecutors are seeking the death penalty? I think the execution could possibly come a little quicker than 20 years. The DC Sniper was, what, 7 years? How long would it take the military to execute after being found guilty?

Born and raised in Maine. Stayed there until moving to Paulding May, 2006. And I love it here...so please dont tell me to go back where I came from-- My boyfriends father had a stroke (Florida) so we drove down to help out for a couple weeks. Stopped in Yorkville at his sister's on the way home...and decided to move to the area...was packed and on the road 1 month later!

I thought some of you may enjoy this. These officers duct taped another officer to a chair and rolled him into an elevator a while back. The video was just released. One officer lost his job. Is this what y'all do in your spare time?? JK. It is on the front page of www.sunjournal.com and unfortunately, I havnt figured out how to attach the video.
