My middle daughter was contacted by one of the courtroom shows about her lawsuit. She refused, too. They told her it would be a guaranteed X amount of money but she said she would take her chances with Fulton County courts, thank you very much. She ended up with a bit more money, and didn't have to take as much time off work.

Strangest real estate story E-V-E-R..........
Mama Carol replied to dawneykids's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I still think about taking the course here and getting my license. The agent who helped us buy this house is just about ready to retire. I'd love for her to teach me the ropes. BTW, I appreciate you getting me names of agents in Jacksonville when we were looking there. That was a HUGE help to us. We ended up not moving there but believe it or not, I'm still in occasional contact with one of them. He has touched base from time to time to make sure we found something, even though it wasn't in that side of the state. -
Strangest real estate story E-V-E-R..........

Funny story about buying a house before an agent listed it. The house had been for sale by the owner (family members) for quite some time. We looked at the house, called the number on the flyer and made an offer. What the person handling the estate at that point didn't know was that another family member was getting ready to list the house with an agent. The agent had been by with a sign WHICH WAS NOT YET IN THE YARD and the house had not been listed nor had a contract been signed. Our offer was accepted. The agent got PISSED and I mean big time but she had not yet gotten a signed contra -

This is true. I know quite a few real estate agents and brokers. Almost without exception, they are a nice bunch of people. -
Only liberals believe it is the stadium's fault that these girls drank, drove drunk and got killed. I seriously doubt that anyone held them down and forced them to drink to excess. Or held a gun to their heads and told them to drive. But hey, the stadium owners had money, were willing to settle and the parents get a nice little nest egg. Won't replace a daughter, for sure, but it will make them "feel better" about the stupid choices their daughters made.

I'd rather wait two months to have any imaging done at Paulding than have it done next day at Cobb. I hate Cobb. Wait, I did that! Actually it was two weeks I had to wait. But when I needed an MRI, it was scheduled next day.

Parents charged in the murder of 10-year-old Girl

In fact, the case managers will likely get promotions. -
Every time I watch one of those shows I shake my head and say "I bet their mama is proud of this". Why two women fight over a sorry POS man is something I just can't understand. That's all they do on Jerry Springer. And all the idiots on the Judge Judy (or the other courtroom shows) is file lawsuits against their ex-live-in lover who won't pay them back what they spent. Hookers don't refund either, folks.

Parents charged in the murder of 10-year-old Girl

Perhaps it would help if there were more advocates for abused children. It would be nice to see DFCS work with the court system and not against it. You know, work FOR the children and not take what parents tell you at face value. Surprise visits would be great except they can't do that. I have a friend who has told me several times that they knew when their neighbors were about to get a visit from DFCS because the kids would be clean and so would the house. After the visit, things went back to the way they were until time for the next SCHEDULED and ANNOUNCED visit. I understan -

20 years or so ago the house next door to ours sold. The buyer was a classmate of my husband's and they used to ride the school bus together. Last month we sold that house to someone who went to the same high school I did. The house behind us was owned by the son of a classmate, and friend, of mine from high school. I'm thinking in my old neighborhood all you have to do is find someone from Pebblebrook or Wills and you're done. Oh, my agent went to the same high school that my husband did. Which really makes the fact that the buyer went to the same high school I did that mu -
sounds about right in this age of no personal responsibility.

Way to go MIL! These are the kind of real estate stories that warm my heart. Pretty much the same thing happened to a friend of mine recently. -
I can relate to that. First time we saw our youngest daughter's boyfriend-now-husband, he was dressed like Marilyn Manson. I don't know that she took him to see my mom dressed that way. Probably not. My mom would have told him what she thought about his attire.

Is that the one where they send you home with rose? I don't watch much TV at all. If it's not golf or 2 1/2 Men, I rarely watch. Maybe the weather during hurricane season. And I hate reality shows with a passion. I mean, what's "real" about them other than real stupid.

She tells it like it is. She doesn't mince words. What's The Bachelorette?

T-45 Crashes Aboard NAS Pensacola
Mama Carol replied to rednekkhikkchikk's topic in Paulding County NEWS
Updated about an hour ago: One of the crew members is in fair condition, and the other is in serious but stable condition, according to officials. -
FYI, just got a copy of the claim that was filed for my last ortho visit last month. New patient visit, 4 views of the knee and 5 views of the hand. Total billed to the insurance: $390.00 Yep, three hundred and ninety dollars. If they worked out the same deal with that as they have with the injections, they would give a 25% discount if I paid at the time of visit. That would have brought it down to under $300. The sad thing is I may end up paying close to that anyway.

She's brutally honest. I like that in a person.

T-45 Crashes Aboard NAS Pensacola

One crew member was transported by Lifeflight. Apparently the other one was not serious enough for that. Both are at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola. This information was updated at 2:35 p.m. central time on the local news channels. -
I communicate with people in Ireland who are having a difficult, next to impossible, time getting testing and treatment. One is talking about they CAN'T get further testing or treatment because their lab values aren't high enough. With the number they are talking about, they should be getting AGGRESSIVE treatment and not the run around. They would be getting that here without a doubt, insurance or not. But hey, every country does it better than we do.

They CAN be VERY painful. They can also impact fertility. What I had was an ovarian cyst. Actually cysts, because I had at least three rupture that I remember. They were not follicular cysts, they were not hemorrhagic cysts. They were cysts in my ovaries likely due to endometriosis and complicated by fibroids. Yes, mine were benign. They are also quite painful. I had to laugh at the doctor when he examined me following the rupture of the one when I was 19. He said he could tell I was better because I didn't almost jump straight up in the air when he went to do the pelvic exam.
-
Yes, really. I had several rupture through the years. Like I said, the pain was worse than any other pain I'd experienced except labor. I had one rupture when I was about 19. Kept having pain, kept having pain, kept having pain. Went to the doctor, he said I had a cyst. Apparently a rather large one, too. Sometime in the following two weeks that sucker ruptured and I seriously thought about going to the ER. I had no insurance, I was 19 years old and scared. I got through it. When I went back for a recheck, the cyst was gone. He asked if I had any pelvic pain since the last visit
-
Yours obviously did not rupture. You would have known it if they had. The worst pain I've ever felt other than labor. The last one I had rupture did so the day after my sister passed away. I was at my mom's and just sitting in the chair I felt the cyst rupture. I stood up, almost passed out and my husband and nephew had to help me to the truck. I barely made it to the couch at home before I passed out. My husband kept asking me if I wanted him to take me to Cobb Hospital and I told him no. Take me home. I thought my nephew's wife was going to have a cow when she saw me. She told

I heard it mentioned that something was changing at Pensacola, too. Not sure what. Had to do with security, though. I don't fly, don't have much reason to fly, so it didn't get my interest enough for me to pay attention to what they said.

You're 1000% correct. At least 50% of every dollar spent on health care goes to the insurance companies. So what do we do? We (meaning our elected officials) pass a law stating that you MUST have insurance. Does something sound wrong about this being the way to fix the health care situation? There are a lot of problems with the way our health care is run here in the US. To start with, drug companies and insurance companies dictate what you can and cannot do or have. That's WRONG! That should be between the patient and the doctor. Then, we have the fraud that is rampant. Cut t
