Absolutely GET A SURVEY. My brother did not bother to do that about 25 years ago when he purchased land. He knew the seller, so he saw no reason to get a survey. He paid for (and I'm doing this from memory so the exact numbers may be wrong) 25 acres but when he went to sell it found out he only had something like 19. Yes, the person he sold it to wanted a survey. We're actually in the offer stage of buying a house and won't get a survey but there are reasons other than money for our decision.

couldn't agree more. I have a checking account and a savings account with Suntrust, one of the megabanks. I also have a checking account and a money market account at a credit union. This past week I saw how nice it would have been to have an account containing the majority of our money at a megabank. That convenience would have been worth $5 to use their debit card.

Each individual's priorities. Do you make a priority to spend your money, even a mere $5 a month, to have a great banking relationship with a stable bank or do you want to yank your money out of a stable bank and go get a tattoo, or buy a pack of cigarettes? I agree. I was merely pointing out that people spend much more on other things without blinking an eye. It's all about priorities.

$5 a month is a drop in the bucket. I know people who pay more than that for a pack of cigarettes. Of course, to pay that $5 a month one might have to give up their new tattoo.

A lot of businesses won't accept AMEX because of the fees. I understand that completely. When the merchant sells a service for say $35.00 and pays almost $2 of that in fees, that hurts THEIR bottom line, not the banks bottom line. Interesting article in today's AJC about the banking fees and how community banks and credit unions are booming because of the fees that the megabanks can, and do, impose.

I have a client who is paying something like 2.75% fee for accepting credit cards. That adds up. In a hurry!

Overtime is paid for hours actually **worked* in excess of 40 hours per week. Vacation, sick pay, holiday, etc are not worked, so therefore, any "overtime" hours would not (likely) be greater than the 40 hours. It doesn't depend on the employer. That's how the FLSA works. An employer is free to pay overtime in that situation but they don't have to and most do not. I can't get to my payroll course book right now, but I can post the exact reference I read just two weeks ago about this a little later. stranger abductions are rare. Something like 6% of missing children are taken by non-family or acquaintances. It is extremely unlikely that this baby was taken by a stranger. And the question that begs to be asked is why take cell phones, too? Did these people not have ANY other method of contacting the police? And why did the husband not have one with him? But then again, if he did have one with him, what were they doing with FOUR FREAKING cell phones???

That baby isn't "missing". The mom knows exactly where she is.

Makes two of us. Apparently there is one Climara that ISN'T a bioidentical. I never had heard of it before. It wasn't what I used, that's for sure.

Climara is a bioidentical hormone, just not a compound purchased at a compounding pharamcy. It is also from natural sources unlike Premarin. And there are "brand name" bioidenticals available at compounding pharmacies.

My doc prescribed them. I don't think they are a "secret" or hard to find. Just ask your GYN or PCP for them. What I used was Climara. It was a patch. If you have any sensitivity to adhesives, you will want the brand name. BTW, my GYN who prescribed them is Suzanne Lowry. She's on Bob Arnold Drive in Lithia Springs. You can Google her contact info or PM me and I'll give it to you. And my PCP gave me refills when needed.

That year sounds about right. All of that coincided with my 18th birthday and my senior year in high school. At that time, it was legal to buy alcohol at 18. I bought my first mixed drink at a school Christmas party at the American Legion in Smyrna and my first "loose" alcohol at some store in Cumberland Mall. It was 3 miniature bottles of wine. I finally threw one of them away in June 2010. It had to be vinegar by that time. It was pretty lousy in 1974.

I could live as long as there is Martin's and Wallace. but seriously, yes, we would have food if there was no Kroger. I've dressed a deer before, right on my kitchen table during the World Series. While I hate the weeding part of gardening, I don't mind the planting or the picking. Grew up on fresh veggies in the summer and the frozen/canned bounty during the winter. Hubby would love the chance to fish and hunt. And I might enjoy that as well. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it and could do it without blinking an eye. I even bait my own hook. Not if Christmas is a Sunday. I, too, have purchased beer on Christmas. In Austell. But it wasn't a Sunday.

I don't look for it in southwest Cobb for quite some time. I seriously doubt Powder Springs will have it. They have darn little alcohol sales as it is. Must be like dancing or something. Austell won't have it either. Marietta and Smyrna definitely will as will Kennesaw. Acworth, maybe. :drinks:

My uncle used to go somewhere around Lost Mountain Store and get his liquor. Not sure if he went to a moonshiner, bootlegger or what. In fact, can't remember exactly what his drink of choice was but it wasn't beer.

I can remember when Cobb was still a dry county and you had to go to Fulton County to buy liquor. It was referred to as "going down to the river". I also remember when Douglas was still a dry county. That was part of the point of Joe's on Bankhead Highway right at the Cobb/Douglas line. The place hubby and I are trying to buy a house is a semi-dry county. They have beer and wine sales, even on Sunday, but no liquor except by the drink in certain areas (bars and hotels). Even there, in order to buy tequila you have to go to a neighboring county. And just try carrying a 12 pack
