  1. So they could tell BEFORE they pulled him over that he was a Delta employee? Wow, they must have had xray vision. But really, you would not BELIEVE the number of times I have read police reports in the Powder Springs Messenger where it said the person was pulled over for a taillight that was out (or a tag light, or not using a turn signal or some other fabricated reason) and drugs WERE found. More than once they have arrested someone on an outstanding warrant. Thank goodness some police officer somewhere used a "fabricated" reason to pull over the person who robbed my neighbor. Wh
  2. Exactly. BTW, anyone want to buy a 3/2.5 on half acre NEAR Powder Springs??? I have one that I'd love to sell to someone so I can move to Florida.
  3. In all truthfulness, was the search more than he would have been subjected to at the airport by TSA?
  4. No problem. I would have liked to had a picture of it, too.
  5. I had my cell phone this time but couldn't drive and get a good picture. I'll try to do better next time.
  6. it was a landscape trailer full of PIANOS! No joke, the trailer was crammed full of dismantled pianos. Upright grands, baby grands. The keyboards were separate from the strings and it really looked like there were more strings and harps than keyboards. I had to wonder if my hubby's grandparents upright grand was among them. I sure hope so. I was never so glad to get rid of something as I was that piano.
  7. I'm sure there are a few of my FB friends who wondered where the heck my posts went. I found the correct setting and now almost nobody sees my status updates unless I include them. IMO, privacy settings on FB are the most underutilized feature. Most people are wide open on there. I went to a job interview a couple of months ago and was told they checked out everyone on FB. I was tempted to ask "how'd that work for you?" because I have my settings so strict that even some of my friends can't find me.
  8. I find it interesting that this happened/came to light within weeks of the new chief coming on board.
  9. We have said for years that it is just a matter of time until one of the neighboring cities gets us. It's between Powder Springs and Austell, both of whom have city limits within 1/5 of a mile from us. We are SO hoping it is Austell. Even considered moving to our house in Austell at one point just so people wouldn't think we live in Powder Springs proper.
  10. Having lived in Powder Springs since 1978, yes, I can believe that. Happens ALL-THE-TIME. Edited to add: is he from Powder Springs? I can't imagine anyone FROM Powder Springs and who goes THROUGH Powder Springs saying a word about it. You gotta know you're a marked man from then on.
  11. I could have kicked myself for leaving my cell phone at home!! And it was moving fast enough I didn't have time to run back home and get the camera, which is who knows where.
  12. I agree. I think this is my favorite fall/winter scent.
  13. Not sure the name would help. House is in Florida. :yahoo: I have heard good things about BB&T though. I just hope they are very helpful and give a fast approval on the short sale.
  14. considering it was new, I'd say the developer lost everything and then bought a yacht.
  15. My daughter and son in law used Magic Jack for about a year. They loved it. They ended up getting phone service through Comcast as part of a package. They didn't do that until the Magic Jack thingie broke.
  16. Might be rare, but it still happened. New thermostat did nothing to fix my problem. And then when the thing completely broke, Lord have mercy at the mess. Apparently common on Altimas.
  17. Since we haven't made an offer yet, not time to get discouraged. Just trying to gather info about how BB&T is to deal with. We know short sales take a long, long time to complete. Just wondering if BB&T is as a general rule easy to deal with. We've dealt with Fannie Mae, BOA and the VA thus far. Almost anything would be easier to deal with than Fannie Mae. Apparently there is only one mortgage on this house, so that should make the process a little quicker and a little smoother.
  18. We made an offer on one on February 17. The seller accepted a higher offer the same day. They finally closed in mid-July. I know they can take a long, long time. That's why our agent has said we are the perfect people to buy a short sale. We don't have to move and are patient. Just wondering how fast or slow and how easy or difficult that particular bank is to deal with. FYI, this will be our fourth attempt to buy a house since June 2010. While we're patient, we're ready to get it over with.
  19. Anyone ever have any experience with a short sale, buying or selling, when the mortgage holder is BB&T? Hubby and I found a house, a short sale with the mortgage being with BB&T. Wondering how fast they approve, how easy to deal with, etc.
  20. That thing really looked like it needed something bigger. Like the Atlantic Ocean.
  21. I couldn't afford the gas for that thing!
  22. It doesn't show up on their website. The closest one is either in Peachtree City or Lithonia.
  23. Gotta correct myself. It wasn't a bushing. It was an idler pulley. My temperature gauge would do the EXACT thing you're talking about. And a new thermostat did nothing to change it.
