This goes along with our discussion this morning.

We told the real estate agents we have dealt with that we are looking at this from a business standpoint. We aren't going to fall in love with a house and then do whatever it takes to get it. If things work out FOR US, great. If not, oh well. Just really wish things would work out sooner rather than later. But we have walked away from at least two houses. Said, nope, not gonna do it. Likely will do that again, too. We used that strategy to buy at least two cars. Just turned and walked out the door. I didn't know car salesmen could run THAT fast!

Are they trying to buy a house from Fannie Mae, HUD, Freddie Mae or a short sale? If so, they may not be there yet for quite some time. We have been told that short sales may take 12-18 months to complete. And not directed toward you, but how long exactly do people think it takes to buy a house these days? Come March, we will have been trying for THREE FRIGGIN' YEARS! Yes, years not months. If their contract stated that if they could not obtain financing then the deal was null and void, they should be able to get their EM back. BTW, a "pre-approval" does not mean the mortga

But "they" say that a sharp knife is a safe knife. -
Sounds typical to me. Buying a house is not an easy thing to do right now. BELIEVE ME! Since mortgage brokers deal with a lot of different mortgage lenders and therefore underwriters, there is likely to be multiple requests for the same information. Pre-approval doesn't mean the loan was approved. Just that the amount requested was approved. Likely nothing the mortgage broker can do. Really. I know, it sucks.

There were 26 (or 28) victims who had no way to defend themselves. Wouldn't have mattered if he had a steak knife set if they could not defend themselves. -
I'd love to see Frank's face when he sees that.

WOW!!! He has grown sooooooo much. He's handsome, too.

Is that the little bitty guy you held in your lap one day at lunch????

It was both of us who read it that way initially! Do you need new glasses. Too? Note to OP: is there any reason your daughter can't "fire" the mortgage broker? Did she sign a contract of some kind that prevents her from engaging the services of someone else?
-
Mortgage brokers are regulated by the Department of Banking and Finance and not the Georgia Real Estate Board. http://dbf.georgia.gov/ Your daughter may also want to talk to her real estate agent and possibly the agent's broker about the mortgage broker, PARTICULARLY if the agent recommended the broker.

Not just no but hell no. -
I like to compare prices. I'm likely going to look at several places and then look online. I've found a few online that were cheaper even when you pay the transfer fee, than buying from the dealer locally. And the amount the dealers charge for the transfer varies.

I really liked the people at Stoddards. Haven't been to the new place yet. Keep meaning to stop by there.

I just heard a helicopter go over. Not sure if it was Lifeflight or not. Didn't go out to look. We are generally on the flight path from Paulding to Atlanta Medical or Grady.

That's the gun I REALLY want--the Glock 19. We must be twins, except for the carpal tunnel part. That's one problem I don't have with my hand and wrist.
-
Must be at the site of the new hospital. It's not like there is a lot of construction going on these days. Hope all is well.
-
Thank you!! I will. Ooooooooo. I love the stainless model they have. Really partial to stainless steel. I like that!! Especially the price. Much better than the Ruger and it's a S&W.

As a matter of fact, I have looked at the CZ. Also the Glock, Kel-Tec, Beretta. You name it, it's all on the table for consideration. Really would like a 9 mm. Really would like a Glock but not sure I can justify the cost. We're going to have to wait until after Christmas and all the hospital bills come in to see what I can afford.

On the rare occasions I ask my husband to get my purse for me, he handles it like it's a dirty diaper. And how did someone like myself who loves purses like some women love shoes manage to have three daughters who don't carry a purse?

We had no explanation for why it fired. Hubby thought the chamber was empty. He has since gotten rid of that revolver. I can think of at least a dozen things drunks shouldn't be allowed to touch and that doesn't include the obvious things of cars, knives and firearms.

I would LOVE to go to Adventure Outdoors, now that I know where they are. I was really confused about their location until I drove by there one day. I originally looked at a Kel-Tec (can't remember the model) and it was too small to be comfortable. They showed me the SR9C and I fell in love. It does feel right. Just have to make sure that the trigger isn't too stiff. I have basically no strength in my fingers.
