Since when has the president, regardless of his race or party, had anything remotely to do with consumer prices? If you think he does or has, then you're part of the problem.

What Can We As a Society Do About These Horrible Tragedies?

Guns do not have to registered in Georgia. You can give someone a gun here, too. Even if a person walks into a gun dealer to buy a firearm, it's not registered. No process set up for that in Georgia. Ahhh, the last time I looked shooting was a sport. It only makes sense that firearms be sold at a SPORTING GOODS store. Why should it make any difference if the seller is making $8 an hour or if they are making $100 a hour. If the seller follows the law, they follow the law. If the buyer follows the law, they follow the law. And no, the shooter yesterday did not obtain the weapons -
I was kinda kidding about the banana peel. I realize that anything organic will decompose. Small pieces of paper are fine as they will decompose but that does not mean hamburger wrappers or newspapers. More like a gum wrapper is OK. But definitely, trash and cigarette butts.

The last time I looked you did have to show some kind of ID to buy a weapon. Fill out a form for a background check, show your carry permit, SOMETHING when you buy from ANY FFL holder whether it be Walmart, Academy Sports, a pawn/gun store or a local firing range/gun shop. What you apparently have forgotten is that it was reported that this kid in Connecticut had weapons that had been legally obtained by his mother. They weren't his weapons which means, guess what, he STOLE THEM! The law is working as it is supposed to. He stole the guns from the legal owner. The guy in Aurora, -
If the cause of the problem is a virus, nothing will work. If the problem is become of inflammation, what the first person said (Theraflu) would definitely help. Maybe Mucinex or a decongestant.

I will always remember the bumper sticker one of my friends had on his car. It read "when guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". He was a cop. Killed in the line of duty at the age of 22 on December 14, 1980 by a CRIMINAL with a stolen gun. Once law-abiding citizens turn in their firearms, the crime will increase because the criminals will KNOW the odds of them being confronted by a person carrying a weapon would be nearly zero. And more people will die. -

I can hardly wait for you to make it to the Mississippi line, TP. You ever heard the song by Charlie Daniels called "Uneasy Rider"? A conservative state that allows medical pot? Isn't that like a contradiction in doctrine? -

Isn't blame what Democrats did during the Bush years? Said HE controlled the prices? Goose, meet gander.

The Scarlet Letter was fiction. It was written about adultery, which has been around since Biblical times. However, I get what Stradial is saying. Our (society) way of thinking about these things has changed. It's no longer scandalous for a teenage girl to have a baby out of wedlock. It's no longer taboo to live together without the benefit of marriage. It's not that the morals have changed. Our acceptance of them is what has changed. I had a cousin who got married when she was in the 12th grade. She had to quit school. My sister in law got married in 10th grade, lived with -

We need to stop glamorizing murder. Stop the crime shows that in some cases show you how to do things. Teach firearm safety in the public schools. Put armed officers in schools and not just the inner city schools. To be honest, it does nothing to bolster my confidence that a person couldn't just walk in a school and take a child if a person can just walk in and start shooting. I had to check in and show ID when I went to pick up a friend's daughter at school. That's all well and good but apparently a person CAN just walk in and start shooting. You have to pass security to get on an airp -
That is completely true for me, too.

I can't wait to hug my two little granddaughters. Already my daughter and son in law were having a really difficult time deciding whether to home school the girls or send them to public school. They were definitely leaning toward home schooling. They might have finalized that decision today. Soooooooo heartbreaking. They were showing photos taken of some of the students, teachers, first responders and it was all I could do not to burst into tears. I've actually had to stop watching the news.

Yes, you speak from experience. I'm hoping things have settled down for you since that.

I highly recommend my dear friend Tina Drummond. http://anddrum.com 110 Evans Mill Dr Ste 605 Dallas, GA 30157 770-505-0370 She is located behind the BP station that is on Dallas Highway at Macland. All the way in the back. If I didn't do my own tax return, she would!

You're 1000% correct. Things like this will continue to happen as long as people who get it in their heads to do things like this KNOW FOR A FACT that nobody will be able to defend themselves against the shooter. Instead of stopping gun sales, there needs to be more armed people in places like this. Walk in there knowing that you are likely going to come face to face with an armed guard of some kind and you might think twice. Might not but you might.

Yeah, next week. Just in time for the "winter" holidays from school and a lot of travel. Crude is hovering around $100 a barrel so the price drop is really a surprise.

I wish I could have waited until I got there!! I filled up at the one in Dallas because I was afraid I wouldn't make it back to Brownsville! FYI, it said $3.12 this morning around 10 and when I came back by there around 1:30 it said $3.04. Oh, and the one in Dallas said $3.12 on the sign right there at the QT sign but the pump said $3.04. First time in FOREVER that I filled up my car for under $50!

When my son in law drove a taxi, some of his best and most frequent customers were the hookers who worked down there. They generally were great tippers (and in cash!!). He hated going down there, though. Hated it. I understand that. I went for a job interview down there and took my pepper spray into the interview. It was *too* close to the motels just off I-20.

We never got our Thanksgiving dinner together. Something always happened. One year it was labor. Yours, not mine. And thank you my sweet friend! I agree with you!! Yep, when my daughter worked there that was the only day of the year they were closed. She worked at one in either Athens or Winder. I can't keep up with the places she has lived, much less the places she has worked. We don't do Atlanta. For anything. If we were going to volunteer, we would do so in Cobb, Paulding or Douglas.
