  1. Did you go to the hospital or the lab in the medical building on Bill Carruth? I LOVE, love, love the imaging center and the lab there. They are all awesome and really know their business. Plus they are just all-around nice people.
  2. I've lived in Powder Springs, in the same house for 34 years next week. and I have NEVER had a problem with them or Austell. But I know they both are famous for being tough on speeders (and actually anyone who gets on their hit list) and I have always watched it. The muffler on one of our cars went out years ago and until I could get it repaired, I did NOT drive through Powder Springs or Austell. No way in hades was I going to risk a ticket on top of the repair that we could barely afford. Hubby got pulled over on Six Flags Dr a couple of years ago. He was in his red convertible but h
  3. I'm not a fish eater. Can't stand catfish. Perch is OK and so is cod but if it comes from the water it better have an exoskeleton and legs.
  4. Let me guess. Powder Springs or Austell???
  5. We went to Bay Breeze in Mableton a few years ago. My food was INCREDIBLE! It was like being at the beach and having fresh seafood. I loved it! Hubby ordered some kind of fried fish which turned out to be filets instead of whole fish, like he was expecting. He wasn't happy about that but he was OK with it. Just misunderstood how it would be served. He said the food was really good and the service was good BUT he hated the noise in there. He won't go back! I love seafood but don't eat fish. Scallops, crab legs, lobster are fine but don't get a catfish near me. He doesn't want t
  6. WHOOO HOO!!! We may have a winner! LOVE Ruby Tuesday. Love it, love it, love it!
  7. I rarely get spam at my main e-mail address. RARELY. I screen like an Olympic drug tester. And I don't give that e-mail address to everyone. When I sign up for different things online, I use one of several other e-mail addresses I have. The one I get 20 or 25 spam a DAY is my aol addy. That's the one I replied to the people through but I have ALWAYS gotten dozens of spam e-mails at that one. I just scan those and hit delete. I don't care how many times someone sends me something on there, if they aren't in my contact list, it goes to spam and after a quick glance to make sure it is spa
  8. That sounds good!! Wouldn't mind the drive over there either. Haven't been to Villa Rica in several years. The last time we went to Waffle House for Christmas morning we still had all three girls living at home. The last year we had all three at home was 1987. We went to the one on South Cobb Drive at Austell Road. We were going to my mom's for lunch and she lived off South Cobb Drive, so we were in the area anyway.
  9. I've wanted to try the Marietta Diner. Might be a good opportunity. We don't eat at fast food places except when we go to Florida and then we eat at KFC and Taco Bell (and Whataburger).
  10. The last Christmas our youngest lived at home she was working at Huddle House. I understand what you're saying. I don't think Cracker Barrel is open on Christmas. They didn't used to be when we would go every Friday night. I'll have to check to see if our favorite Chinese restaurant is open. That's a great idea. Love some hot and sour soup with some Phoenix and Dragon for Christmas dinner. Waffle House not so much. We used to like Shoney's real well. Last time we went it wasn't really fit to eat. Swore we would never go back. Hate to break that streak.
  11. I just really don't think I want to cook a big dinner for just myself and my husband. I did that for Thanksgiving and we still have turkey in the freezer and dressing to be made. I want someone else to cook and clean up, and preferably to bring what I want to the table for me. We ate at IHOP last year or the year before and it was really good. Any ideas about other places that will be open Christmas Day?
  12. The traditional holiday meal (either Thanksgiving or Christmas) for my best friend and her family has always been steaks on the grill, baked potatoes with all the trimmings, salad and rolls. This past Thanksgiving was the first year in many, many years they broke from that tradition and went to Golden Corral. I think steaks are back on the menu for Christmas dinner. Can't wait for the Mardi Gras parade and some red beans and rice and gumbo. Yum, yum!!
  13. A word of warning, NEVER use an auto-unsubscriber service. You will get triple the spam. When I did that, I also put them on the block list. The domain AND the e-mail address.
  14. To me, Pubby looks like he's lost a few pounds in the last two months or so. I found it, I think.
  15. The face many people put on hides a very ugly reality. I can think of one or two others on Pcom who many people on here think very highly of but I would cross the street in order to avoid them because I don't want to be associated with them. I NEVER post in their threads. I have seen the beautiful, hard-working, Christian face they put on and I have seen the reality of the lying and the abuse.
  16. ABSOLUTELY!! Carbs are the problem, not the fat. BTW, Pubby, did you go on Atkins or another low carb diet or a homegrown low carb diet? Hubby and I have been on Atkins twice and it has worked beautifully for us. Lipids reduced, blood sugar reduced, weight reduced (yeah, I know we're both still too big but neither of us are where we were in 2006). Now I'm doing a modified, LOWER carb diet. Still want to talk to you about iron.
  17. I second that about the diabetes educational session at Wellstar. I went with my mom back about 15 years ago and while I studied nutrition in school, things had changed a bit over the years. I learned a tremendous amount in that session.
  18. There's also a difference between being an ass and being a SOB. It's a fine line but there IS a difference. Hubby is a first class SOB. In 35 years of being together I have only seen him be an ass once.
  19. When I was growing up my parents told me I could be anything I wanted to be. I chose bitch. Might want to look up the definition of "hypocrite".
  20. I can tell you from personal experience that when my grandsons passed away I was a crying baby for seven months. Grant a news interview? I couldn't put two words together. Posting on a message board? No way. I couldn't see the keyboard through the tears. I understand Stiff's anger. I really do. You have to blame someone.
  21. My, my, my. We do have some unmannerly deputies around here, don't we? Now, what position is it you said you hold in government?
  22. Glad to hear the car is fine. It was a good car for me. Hope it does as well for you, too. I don't know about you, but I don't need the password to THAT forum!
  23. Password protected, on an as-needed basis? BTW, hi!!! How's the car?
