  1. Hubby and I got married 35 years ago (35 years ago tomorrow, in fact). It was cold as a mother in law's heart that day. And raining! There was snow on the ground the previous weekend.
  2. So I believe in enforcing the law. Sue me. I forgot to mention the other members of my family. The car thief. The drug addicts. The child molester.
  3. I knew we were in for a rough time when I heard we were going to have an early spring. Seems as though that was what was said 20 years ago, about a month or five weeks before the Blizzard.
  4. My paternal great-grandfather was a revenue agent. My paternal grandfather was a revenue agent. One of my paternal uncles was a police officer. My father was a sworn deputy when needed (Cobb County was too small to have a paid police force back then). I have several cousins who are state troopers. I have a good friend who is a 25 year LEO. I don't give cops an automatic pass. I do expect them to enforce and abide by the laws that our elected officials have passed. However, I do know that they don't "throw" a two year old to the curb in 40 degree weather. They also don't repeatedl
  5. I've been around a lot of cops. I've seen a lot of cops at work. I've never seen one who put a child on the side of the road in 40 degree weather. Where do you draw the line on crime? It's "just" an insurance card. It's "just" speeding. It's "just" abusing a child. It's "just" murdering a homeless person. A crime is a crime is a crime. Enforce them all or take them off the books!
  6. And could the OP have meant to say GEICS (Georgia Electronic Insurance Compliance System) instead of GCIS (Georgia Career Information System)?
  7. https://mvd.dor.ga.gov/vincheck/VinCheck.aspx Proof of Insurance and Financial Responsibility Insurance Card Although insurance cards are no longer valid as sole proofs of insurance for any vehicle other than those that are self-insured or under the International Registration Plan (IRP) or a fleet policy, the state still requires carriers to issue them and owners to keep them in their vehicles at all times.
  8. He posted to his page and then numbers and numbers of people shared it.
  9. I fail to see what he did that was wrong. He did what any police officer is sworn to do when they encounter someone who cannot provide proof of insurance. There's a reason you should carry your insurance card with you in your car. There are generally three sides to every story. BTW, they will have to pry my firearm out of my cold dead hands.
  10. Kudos to the officer for doing his job.
  11. There go my Seagrams Jamaican Me Happy coolers! And worst of all, there go my Kahlua and creams.
  12. At some point you're going to have to get someone in who can help. It might mean paying them more or it might mean training them to do things YOUR way. It generally can be done though. I don't mean this to offend but at least you CAN find someone to train and who is willing to do the job. We tried for two years to find someone to take over for my husband when we found out his working days were almost over. We simply could not find anyone who could do the work or anyone who WOULD do the work or anyone who would take the job. The one we felt best could do the work was single and had a p
  13. It would be smaller, too.
  14. Not just pizza. Also clothes. And no, it's not me. I ordered an IDENTICAL pair of shoes as the ones I had on. Identical. Same style number, same size, everything was the same. Except they don't fit because they're too small. WTF??? I have shirts that are made the same, same manufacturer, purchased two years apart. The newer ones just simply don't fit unless they are at least one if not two sizes larger. How can an XL shirt fit and a XXXL be barely large enough when they are the same STYLE shirt by the SAME manufacturer? Tuna is no longer a 7 1/2 oz can. Really messes with you
  15. It's very difficult to find someone who will run it like it's theirs and that it's THEIR butt on the line. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Hope you find someone who can help you out. I know what it's like to do it all yourself.
  16. Laurie, things just aren't the same around Pcom without you in the office. It's quiet. And lonely. I knew you were having problems. I just hate to see it to this point. I've been concerned about you since you PMd me about the shot you had. I want and need a bewbie hug from you before I leave town. We need to get together! And we need to stay in touch!!!!
  17. Interesting article but there are a LOT of misconceptions about being eligible for Social Security disability. One is particularly if you have back pain, just a claim of "back pain" isn't enough to qualify you. You MUST have evidence of a condition that is disabling. Just a doctor's say-so isn't enough. The radiographic evidence needs to be there. Age has a lot to do with whether or not you qualify as well. If you're 30 something and have some college and some "sit down" job skills, forget it. You won't qualify. The type of work you did in the past has a lot to do with it. I
  18. It depends on what type of page and post it is. I reported some as spam this morning. I thought I was just going to hide it from the news feed. On group feeds, you can't hide the post. You can only report as spam. On your individual page, you can hide items from your newsfeed.
  19. You took the words out of my mouth. On that note, my husband's nephew was killed in an auto accident in 1996. He was allegedly drag racing on I-285. In a Tempo. Nope, something didn't sound right about that story. Wow, yet another thing you and I have in common! Ours was a white 1990 Tempo. Great car once it passed 150 miles. Transmission went out at 100 miles. Kept having little nit-pick things go wrong until we hit a black cat and after that the car ran like a top and gave great service for the 11 years we owned it.
  20. I don't know who reported it or why but it could have been an innocent mistake. They may have intended to hide the update. Instead of "hiding" the post, it could have reported it as spam.
  21. At least that page is only locked for 24 hours. Mine was locked for a week.
  22. I see disclaimers all the time that say something to the effect of "information is believed to be correct but buyer should verify all information to their satisfaction". I do know for a fact that a seller can be sued if they agree to provide something such as a refrigerator and then that item is removed prior to closing. Just ask the listing agent for the house we just bought. And ask the seller. Yep, the agent put that it was included, we put it in the offer, the seller agreed to it. While we didn't get the item (it had been sold at an estate sale), we did get compensated for it.
  23. Interesting. Not true. But interesting. I'm quite sure all those listings I see NOW on Realtor.com that are through FMLS and MLS and have square footage listed are there because they are allowed. What would be the reason for not listing it? It's readily available online through the country records.
  24. We've been here five days and it's still wonderful. Really hate to have to get in the car and go back up there to pack. If we had the money to buy all new, I'd say to heck with it and get all new stuff. Unfortunately, we're so broke now we can't afford to pay attention.
  25. That's nothing legal stopping them from listing it. That's simply a lazy listing agent. MOST of the houses we have seen have not only square footage listed but also room dimensions.
