We plan to take tomorrow off and go to the beach. We need a break from the packing, loading, driving, unloading, etc. Hope it's a nice day. BTW, I don't live at the beach. I'm a good, HARD 30 minute drive to the nearest one. I'm a good 5 minutes to the river. We go over there almost every day.

I'll be back up there from time to time because my grandbabies still live there. For now. We drove down yesterday, hubby in the 20 ft U-Haul and me in the car behind him. Great trip down. Traffic was heavy but moved well. Even coming through Montgomery, which is usually a headache, wasn't bad. But it sure felt good to pull into the driveway! Most of our things spent the night on the truck but they have been unloaded at least now. A few things have been set up, like the furniture, but for the most part, everything is in the garage. Where it will stay until Monday. We're taking to

Mildew could be the cause especially since you said the smell is more in the rooms with water. Mold could also be the cause for the same reason. A septic tank back up could be the cause but you would likely have the smell around drains (kitchen and bathtub particularly). And yes, you could have two dead mice or a dead squirrel. If the rooms are adjacent, it could be a dead animal in the wall or even in the attic or crawlspace. Like someone else said, it could also be milk or formula and/or a soured piece of clothing that fell behind something.

How "local"? Atlanta or closer?

Thanks Tess. It has been an experience thus far. I think I've aged 10 years since the 11th of March when we found out we got the house. Cleaning out a house where you've lived since Carter was President is a daunting task. Yes, you read that right. Carter was President when we moved here in December 1978. We never dreamed we would be here 34 years. In some ways, we thought we would be here until they bagged and tagged us. Going up and down the stairs just got to be too much for both of us. I think it's called being elderly.

I will definitely not be a stranger on here. Already got my Internet connection thingie for down there so I won't be without my Pcom this time. Trust me, you don't want pictures of me in a bikini. The good thing from yesterday was seeing 2 of my 3 daughters and 4 of my 7 grandchildren all at the same time! That was totally awesome. Pubby is going to do fine. I saw enough of my replacement yesterday to know that give her a time or two of coming in and she will get the hang of it. Might even get Pubby straightened out a bit.

It was a very sad day for me today because I had to say goodbye to someone with whom I have worked for almost two years. He makes me think, challenges me in my beliefs and is an all-around pleasure to work with. I believe my replacement is going to come out of the gate gangbusters and do an outstanding job! I couldn't be happier for everyone involved. I just wish I'd been able to get a LPPT bewbie hug as well as the Pubby hug. I'm going to miss you guys. My week just won't be the same now. I'll no longer know what day of the week it is! I'll still be on here but it will be

I'm looking at $30 a month for service. No downloaded movies, no streaming video, why pay more?
-
The "roadside box" has my street address on it, so I'm guessing I'm pretty close to it. oh well, another 3 or 4 days and I can say adios to Bellsouth DSL.
-
So I rebooted again. So, now it's slower than 98% of the US.
-
Because you are living in a fantasy land about timing. You're looking at nine months MINIMUM to buy the lot, get the permits, break ground and build. That's if everything goes well. You could be waiting in June for the bank to make a decision. Then there is the time required for permits, financing, finalized plans. Have you ever remodeled or built? If you have, you know that the time frame you're looking at is unreasonable. I'd get a six month rental with an option to rent for another six months. You will need it. Trust us who have been there. Our remodel that was going to

If it were me, I'd rent while I built and not rush it. Look around, you're sure to find short term rentals. Or maybe do a sublet. The houses in Brooke Chase are very nice. You might send a PM to Media Man. I think he lives in that subdivision and could tell you what's available. If Oak Grove is the subdivision just across from East Paulding, those are very nice as well.

Isn't what you posted the same thing I said? That the insurer WILL issue a card and the that drive WILL keep a copy of it in their vehicle? And that's even though the card isn't proof of insurance?
-
I used to keep all the tag slips in the car, too. I stopped that a few years ago. But those insurance cards still go in there every six months. We loaned our truck to our daughter while we were out of town for a month. I made a point of telling her that the insurance cards were in there just in case she ever needed them. And I made sure the current one was on top of the stack. Coming from the job backgrounds I do, I believe in documenting EVERYTHING. I am also a tactile person, so I don't trust electronic records and I want the paper record in my hand. Besides, won't the insuranc

TP, please keep up. The deputy DID run the tag and it came back with no insurance. Then the driver could not produce an insurance card. Had they had a card in the car with them, this whole ugly ordeal would likely have been avoided. Yes, that's true, a card is easy to forge. BUT the officer would have likely taken a card FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY, written them a ticket and they would have been on their merry way. Then when the driver went to court, all they had to do was produce a statement from the insurance company that they had valid insurance on the day they were stopped. All charg

I started using Outlook when my Outlook Express crashed and I could never get it back going. I stopped using Outlook when my computer crashed and I lost hundreds of e-mails. I switched to webmail after that. I still have Outlook but I only use it to send on occasion. Like when I was a "read receipt". I just checked Outlook and didn't have a problem with the password.

What's really strange is that some of the time when I sign on it comes up with the same old Bellsouth look and format and sometimes it comes up with the new look and format. Usually when it has the new format, I can't open an e-mail until I refresh the page and then I can open them.
-
They are changing the format. I chalked up the problems I was having to that.
-
Good gracious Media Man!! That's blazing fast. BTW, how you doing??
-
I'm sure Pcom would love to have you as a paying member.
-
You must not play the same ones I do as they don't require that. In fact, anything on there that requires you to add people you don't know, I block.
-
Thank you!! That was the OP who edited his posts to say that.

You have some great points! You're right. It's fall in New Zealand. That baby is bundled up so it's obviously not hot outside. If it's a newborn, it's not going to get too cold bundled up like that. Perhaps where this happened (IF it happened), people are not of the same mindset as many are here in the US where I'll shoot you for your sneakers, I'll kill you for your ride and if there happens to be a baby in the way, well, too bad. Some parts of the world people still watch out for each other and show respect for one another. I've even hear dof places where neighbors will help you
