GA 30% income tax withholding increase?
Mama Carol replied to The Sound Guy's topic in Paulding County NEWS
They must have some educated idiot at ADP. Or maybe they have the people who did the payroll course I took. I pointed out an error to them (verified by three other accountants with a combined 70+ years of payroll & tax experience that what they had was incorrect) and they still told me I was wrong. I even showed them in the IRS Pub 15 (I think that's the payroll one, really can't remember the numbers for them) what was correct. They simply told me that I, along with the other accountants AND the IRS were wrong. -
Call and ask WHICH iron levels they checked. If they did not check ferritin and percent saturation, ask if they can run those with the blood already drawn (usually they can). BTW, having too high iron can also make you weak, tired, listless, etc.

GA 30% income tax withholding increase?
Mama Carol replied to The Sound Guy's topic in Paulding County NEWS
WTF? It's not up to ADP to determine what you're entitled to claim! Maybe it's because I've done payroll for more years than I care to remember, but Georgia does a pretty good job of making an easy to understand withholding tax guide. They modeled it after the IRS withholding tax guide. Besides, your company's payroll department should know what is what and ADP should know what is what. And why did ADP "magically" decide this on April 1? Tax withholding guide for Georgia hasn't changed in several years. Actually, any money deducted by ADP likely would not be submitted to the S -
GA 30% income tax withholding increase?

Pretty sure state withholding did not go up to 36%. The paychecks I generated for April for my clients were no different than the ones I generated for March. The withholding tax has remained the same. I'd ask the payroll department to check into this. Something is bad wrong here. If your payroll department isn't any more help than they already have been, call ADP again. Tell them your payroll department has not been any help and you would prefer talking to them before talking to the state Department of Revenue. -
I wasn't even thinking LOW iron. When you say they checked your iron levels, do you mean they checked hemoglobin and hematocrit? If so, that's not checking iron levels. A ferritin and a percentage saturation are not part of the routine tests done and must be ordered specifically. They ARE the iron tests.

Ask for an iron panel with your lab work.

Might want to have those doors checked out. There shouldn't be enough vibration in them to break the filaments in the bulbs every few days. Also, you might try getting bulbs specifically for garage door use (I think they are called something like "rough duty" bulbs).

They only told me after I was in the hospital room and asked them about it. I wondered who they were talking about while I was in recovery when I heard one of the nurses say to the other "I really thought we had lost her there" I was awake enough at that point to see I was the only one in recovery. When the cardiologist came by the next morning he said it was rare he ever had to go to the OR for someone having minor, outpatient surgery.

YIKES!!! Not me. I almost did that.

JJ was one of the dearest souls I have ever met. He had a special twinkle in his eyes that just about melted my heart every time I saw him. He and I always said that the other one looked familiar but we never figured out where we had met before Pcom. And we were SURE it was well before Pcom. I truly miss him, every single day. He left us way too soon.

My youngest daughter, I tell "I love you" almost every time I talk to her. I tell my husband several times a day. My two youngest granddaughters, I have told them I love them every single time I've seen them since they were born, including at birth! I would love the chance to tell my mom and dad I loved them. They knew, though. I have several friends who I always tell "I love you". And how do I want to go out? Killed by a jealous wife when I'm in my late 90s. And she needs to be a college student as does her husband.

Silly me, I thought she was a teal member because NOBODY has ever posted more on here than Lady Raider. I mean, really, Pubby needs to come up with a new membership level for her. Not that she's too talkative. She IS one of the nicest people I've ever met, though.

I think the best ones would be Lowrider and Stradial. But then again, who wants the hassle of being a mod? I'm not sure I'd want to wish that on someone I like.

Anyone selling or thinking about selling

Tell her to be patient with the process. Short sales, foreclosures and out and out dumps are the norm now. Prices for decent houses are not cheap. And by "decent" I mean livable without having to completely reconstruct them. BTW, you had me beat with a contract in 2 days. Took mine 3 days to get to contract. -
I never got over to see him before I left town.

With a VA loan there are certain costs the buyer CANNOT pay and there are certain costs the VA CANNOT pay. I'd have to look back at the offer we made on the house owned by the VA to see what they were to tell you positively. But $5500 in closing costs sounds about right. That should include inspections, loan origination fees, doc fees, etc. And you should be able to Google "standard real estate closing costs in Alabama" and get a good idea what is usual and customary in that area. It varies from real estate market to real estate market. We paid $0 (zero) in closing costs on the hou

We had a dog who went missing on New Year's Day 1988. During that year, our oldest daughter got married and moved away and our middle daughter decided to go live with her mom. At the end of January 1989, one year and 28 days after he went missing, we found our dog. He knew exactly who we were, knew the truck my husband drove, knew our place of business. He was ecstatic to be back with his people. That night when we brought him home, he went upstairs to the girls bedrooms. He walked into one, put his front paws on the bed and looked it over. Looked a bit concerned that he didn't see anyo

They have ads on Facebook? Really? I never noticed them. Guess I'm the one in a million who can't be swayed by advertising. Maybe that Mass Media class back all those years ago in high school did teach me something after all. Besides, WHO CARES what ads Facebook has? I certainly don't. Oh, and I love the anonymous browsing available on Chrome.

About 25 miles east of Pensacola. Little town called Milton. It wasn't really a dream. It was what we wanted and worked to get. It was beginning to look like a pipe dream. We kept at it and finally everything fell into place rather quickly. We just made the offer two months ago and started moving in a month ago when we closed. Still have a few odds and ends to come back to get but otherwise, we're all settled in. We were ready for it. -

I feel like I have died and gone to heaven. I have Winn Dixie within walking distance and within 2 miles there is a Pik n' Save and a Food Outlet (both the cost plus 10% format). About 4 miles away is Piggly Wiggly (The Pig) and then about 6 miles west are Publix, Target and Walmart. There's a Tom Thumb on almost every corner and they have milk cheaper than the grocery stores do. On the discount store side, there is a Dollar General just across the 4 lane road from me, almost within sight. There is Fred's, Big Lots, Family Dollar all within two miles of myhouse. On the discount dep -

What's confusing about 10%?. If an item is priced 91 cents, after the 10% it is $1.00. Easy enough. Now, if the percentage was 8.75% that might be confusing to anyone but a math major but 10% is simple. My daughter routinely takes a calculator with her to keep track of what she is spending. She adds the 10% to know what she is actually paying and generally she even adds the sales tax. I guess when you have limited funds with which to shop, you have to know to the penny what you're spending. I love their roasts. $3.54 a pound plus the 10% comes out to $3.89 which is cheaper than -

My daughter lives within walking distance of the Food Depot in Austell/Lithia Springs. It's a good 5 miles to the nearest Walmart. She gets much better prices at Walmart. But there are some things they use she can't get at Walmart and Food Depot is the ONLY place around she has found those items. They have some kind of kick-ass marinara sauce! Their barbecue sauce is really good, too. I gave up finding the diced tomatoes with sweet onions at other stores and would stock up when I'd go to Food Depot. We have two cost plus 10% stores here in Milton. I plan to check them out even thoug -
I paid less out of pocket, cash, for a mammogram in 2011 than I did for the "free" one in 2012. You read that right--I paid LESS when **I** paid for the entire thing than when I used my insurance. Go figure.
-
It's been a long time since I did one of those but I seem to recall that you can only claim what insurance did not pay. IOW, if you had $40,000 in damage and insurance paid $39,000 you could only claim $1,000 in casualty loss. Furthermore, if you had $40,000 in damage and insurance paid $41,000 you would not have a claim at all. PM me and I'll try to help you.

Not yet. That doesn't happen until 1/1/14. And yes, most offices will work with you if you don't have insurance. Talk to either the office manager or the practice manager. Forget talking to the receptionist or the appointment maker. They don't have the power to help you.
