My first memory is being in the hospital with pneumonia and the nurses bringing ice cold towels to put under me in an effort to reduce my fever. I remember pointing to the bed next to me as if to say "give it to them". I was 13 months old. And what happened was verified by my mom who never told me about this. I asked her about it when I was probably 10 or so. She was stunned that I actually remembered it happening.

It's just Thursday. After all, your wife is ALWAYS mad at you, the IRS is always causing trouble and Pubby manages to piss off someone virtually every day (sorry Pubby, you know I love you). As for the gas shortage, school gets out next week and then after that is Memorial Day. Do the math.

Prayers for the family as they deal with this loss.

We had a business in the 1980s. All three of our girls were welcome to come to the shop at any time. The youngest helped out a lot. My husband and I worked out our schedules to where when she became our only one at home, she never had to go to daycare or to a sitter. One or the other of us was with her at all the time. She loved being in our shop. LOVED it!! Still talks about the fun she had and the people she met. Money we didn't have but she did ask my husband one day if we were rich. His answer:

computer won't allow change to security settings

He SAYS he has made changes to the computer since he left that company. He is running IE7, so maybe he has. He just can't download IE9 because he can't download needed updates. I could wring the neck of that IT guy. For the longest time my husband couldn't even get on OUR wifi. Finally got that one figured out. Now this. -

computer won't allow change to security settings

He's running Vista. We THINK he is the administrator on the computer. It's kinda screwy. When he was working for a local company a few years ago, he had their IT guy set up his laptop so he could get on their network. Ever since that, he has had problems with it. I'm thinking while he is the only user of the computer, he hasn't been granted admin rights by the IT guy (who IMO had no business being the IT support guy for anyone but that's another story). -
My husband has been trying all morning to update Explorer. He has run into a problem we don't know how to solve. He keeps getting the message that "security will not allow changes" or something to that effect. He cannot turn on automatic updates, even though when he goes to "automatic updates" it appears to be on. Same with anti-virus through Windows Defender. Why can't he, as the only person who uses that computer, make changes to the security settings?

I should mention that ours is set at 65, winter and summer. Or the heat is completely turned off in the winter at night. I can't stand to be too warm when I am trying to sleep.

In years past, my husband liked the temperature ice cold. Then I hit menopause. Now he's the one bundled up under the cover while I'm on top of the cover, with the ceiling fan going wide open and the a/c set at 68. Payback is hell.

Usually once we finally turn it on, we set it at 68 and leave it.

Have you checked under "got the goods"? Craigslist?

We used a guy out in Douglas County. Robert G Vansant & Associates. To be honest, I can't remember where in Douglas County he is located but I think he's on Hospital Drive. Like everyone else has said, Tibbitts also does this. They are advertisers on here and have been for quite some time. I don't personally know them but do know of them and they come HIGHLY recommended.

AKA "Fair Tax". -
Exactly what I found on one of the unmoderated forums I was a member of. They thought they were the next Donald Trump or Martha Stewart and if you didn't do things their way, you were not part of the clique. I can say one thing, when one of the members had a crisis, regardless of who it was, they all pulled together. When my newborn grandsons passed away, those ladies (and some gentlemen) were there for me. Then it was back to the backstabbing and clique.
-
What's moderated and has administrators? Certainly not the unmoderated forums I have been members of. They eventually turned into cliques and forums for every shyster trying to sell ED meds. I don't get Twitter so I don't get on there. I hate chat rooms. I can only read so fast!

But people are not going to stop buying things! Think of all the revenue that will be generated when the economy picks up again. No, everyone getting a government check every month is a liberal idea, not a conservative. We conservatives believe that one should not rely on the government to do for us what we can do for ourselves. Liberals believe in government action to achieve equal opportunity and equality for all. It is the duty of the government to alleviate social ills and to protect civil liberties and individual and human rights. Believe the role of the government should -
I just don't get Twitter. I never cared for chat rooms. Unmoderated message boards scare the crap out of me. Pcom and Facebook are great. I love being able to read other people's views on issues and have actually changed my mind about them from time to time. After problems with another poster on an unmoderated forum, I swore I would never again get on another unmoderated one. I've been a mod (not here but on a support group) and it's a tough job but one that needs to be done, even if the people on the group are all adults. Some people can get very brutal in what they say. If you have a gazillion dollars and spent $100,000 and pay sales tax on it at say a rate of 23%, you have paid 23%. If you have $10,000 and spent $1,000 and paid sales tax at say a rate of 23%, you have paid 23%. Doesn't matter how much money you have in some bank somewhere. You have paid the SAME PERCENTAGE of tax as everyone else. Here is a definition of "fair": marked by impartiality and honesty : free from self-interest, prejudice, or favoritism. The Fair Tax would be impartial. Everyone would pay the same percentage regardless of who they are, where they live in the US or if thei -

everyone will pay the sales tax. They do now. That won't change just because you don't have "wealth". You have income. Sales tax isn't paid from your net worth. Yes, the people who buy are the ones who will be paying the taxes. My hubby and I paid a grand total of $98 in tax for last year. That was self-employed income for me. But we bought things. Groceries, clothes, more light fixtures than you can imagine, household items. We would have paid a tremendous amount more than $98 in sales tax. No, the Fair Tax doesn't shift the burden to anyone but the boomers or the wealthy -

This has got to take the cake. "the boomers look so much more wealthy than the people 35 and under"? Guess what? Boomers have been in the world longer and have had longer to amass their wealth. -
LOL. Yeah, I have seldom met a person I didn't like and even less often met someone I couldn't say something nice about. He was HORRIBLE!! That's about the nicest thing I can say about him. That and I don't work for him anymore!!! I learned my lesson at a young age.

Nope. Close though. BW

Probably.
