  1. I only have cats so I don't know much about hip dysplasia, is there much pain involved for the dog with that? What about any meds, could they be causing her to act this way? Poor baby (and you.)
  2. If this behavior is fairly new, I would agree with SushiBoofay that there may be some underlying physical cause for this. It's not always obvious that an aging dog or cat has vision or hearing problems. Dogs & cats both can get separation anxiety (one of my cats has it to a degree, I suspect from her less than ideal life prior to me adopting her.) It's always possible something happened while you were on one of your trips away from home that may not seem like anything to you, but did to the dog. I'd take her to the vet to rule out any physical cause to be sure. To my knowledge, a 7-year ol
  3. My concern about people shooting off fireworks in subdivisions and residential areas is the danger of fire, if anything hits a house or dry grass or trees. I'm probably more paranoid than most because as a child, our house burned down (heater fire suspected.) Even though I like to watch fireworks at a proper show, these home-grown firework shows just make me nervous. So far so good with my cats, the sounds aren't as loud as last summer so they're calm this time. So far.

    Cat in Tree

This reminds me of back in 1981 when I was a college girl in NC, living in a small apt building full of women and only one man...my boyfriend. There was an outdoor apartment complex cat named Max, who got himself stuck way up in a pine tree. So all of us girls started begging my boyfriend, please go get the cat. He didn't want to do it, but I guess between the other coeds batting their eyes at him and me giving him my best "Come Hither Look," my boyfriend puffs out his chest and decides to impress us girls and stop our whining. He goes out to his car trunk, where, inexplicably, he kept his dee
  5. Thanks, CitizenCain. With this new message board software or whatever you call it, I never know if my links or pics show up.
  6. I can't stop watching this, it's so funny. Just a short little video about 2 dogs and some McDonalds ice cream. http://blog.theanimalrescuesite.com/dogs-icecream/?utm_source=jg&utm_medium=fb&utm_term=20140606&utm_campaign=dogs-icecream

    Snail Mail

Well, I wish the bills wouldn't come in so soon then.

    Snail Mail

I still get most of my bills through snail mail with an email backup. I'm old school, I need a piece of paper to remember stuff. And then there's junk mail, one out of thousand pieces actually has something useful.

    Snail Mail

5 pm today before my mail is delivered. This isn't unusual at all and it drives me nuts. I can understand it when it's Monday, or the first day after a holiday or during the Christmas season, but my mail can come finally anytime between noon and as late as 5 pm. There's been times I'm waiting on something that needs to go to the bank and not getting it until after the bank is closed just annoys me to no end. I live in a subdivision in Hiram off Bill Carruth.
  10. Maybe Pubby's got all of y'all on Ignore.
  11. Sunday is Christmas Day for Race Fans. All Racing. All Day. Formula One Grand Prix of Monaco for breakfast Indy 500 at lunchtime NASCAR's Coca Cola 600 for supper.
  12. I'm reading on twitter that there's a possible run-off between Kingston and Perdue.
  13. You know, it's gotten to where that when competing politicians for the same office from the same party are so nasty about each other, I just end up not wanting to vote for either one of them.
  14. Didn't see any surprises, overall. Kingston vs Perdue looks pretty close but it's still early.
  15. This just breaks my heart, it really does. If you don't mind disclosing, what neighborhood do you live in? This is not only heartbreaking but it is also very frightening.
  16. Wow, that makes me feel old. LOL I got Blazing Saddles & Young Frankenstein dvds for Christmas. Classics, both of them!
  17. A hospitialist is an MD who is an actual employee of the hospital, instead of the usual way of doing things, which is when your doctor is credentialed (authorized, basically) to see patients at a certain hospital but is an independent physician who has his own practice and office.
