  1. Just saw this on twitter, and I am stunned. Herb Emory died suddenly today of a heart attack. He will be greatly missed. http://www.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/captain-herb-emory-passes-away-saturday/nfYgk/ Mods, if someone already posted this topic, please delete this. Thanks.
  2. Rodney did my house last summer. He's a professional, did a great job and was very reasonably priced.
  3. I heard the Russian team was cheating with a Roomba.
  4. I use my water spray bottle as a mist, not directly in my cat's faces, more just towards them. They get just enough of the mist of their face to get the hint. I'd be leery about using a stream, because you may accidentally hit her eyes or ears and that would hurt. You may need some antibiotics for your scratches, I'd go to the doctor, for real.
  5. I got a 7-quart crockpot and a can of cream of mushroom soup in the pantry. Mr. Groundhog better get it right.
  6. +1 to all of that. At her age, a lot of this is probably play-aggression. Think about it, she's still a very young kitten who would normally be with her mom and siblings to play and learn how to hunt with. Catnip toys, balls, laser pointers, vertical scratching post are all good ideas. Kitty's got a lot of energy to burn off. A non-catnip lovey toy like a small stuffed animal (no small parts that can be swallowed) is good too as a comfort toy. If the kitty is alone all day, it's probably lonely too. A second kitty is a good idea, around the same age or a bit older (still young enough to play b

Just liked you on Facebook and now following y'all on twitter. I'm a huge Indycar fan, I love it. I have several twitter followers who are also Indycar fans, so get to tweeting so I can retweet your stuff!
  8. Phil Everly has died at the age of 74. He & his brother Don had the most beautiful harmonies in songs that are still good today. This makes me sad. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/music/posts/la-et-ms-phil-everly-of-the-everly-brothers-dies-at-74-20140103,7923212,2278153.story#axzz2pOaLAtZj
  9. I LOVE the Barret-Jackson auctions. I watch it every year.
  10. From Britain's Got Talent: Some senior citizens pulled a good one on ole Simon Cowell. The world's oldest choir rocks out. http://talent.itv.com/2013/videos/
  11. I'm an insomniac and had just gone to bed when at 1:25AM I heard what I thought was a gunshot. I called 911 (very nice lady) and the Hiram police did a drive thru in my subdivision off Bill Carruth, but I never heard any sirens or anything after the strange sound. I thought maybe a car wreck, because we don't hear hunters out here and it didn't sound like a hunting rifle. It really sounded more like a gunshot of some sort instead of a wreck or tire back-firing. Did anybody else hear something that sounded like a gunshot in Hiram? I checked the cats and nothing new was knocked down to the
  12. Do people really pay much attention to car alarms anymore? I've heard them go off in store parking lots and people don't even turn around.
  13. Well, crap. I'm sorry you had that happen, especially at the holidays. Just inexcusable the kind of stuff that happens in Paulding anymore. I used to feel safe here, it was one of the reasons I moved here instead of Cobb or Douglas County. Guess I'll have to burn up the extra gas to go to the other Walmart on Dallas Hwy to be safe. Sucks.
  14. It was more of a "I'm shocked" statement than a question. I go to that Walmart probably twice a week (only during the day) and have never seen or had a problem.
  15. Other break-ins today? At the Hiram Walmart?
  16. I'm not watching the awards, but have you seen Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton lately? OMG. Sad, how plastic surgery or botox just ruined their faces.
  17. We had this woman who had 6 kids (1 set of twins) with, no lie...4 different fathers. She was scared to death of me so when her kids got so loud that I could hear them in my back office, I just went right up to her when nobody else would. All she needed was somebody to tell her in a blunt but polite manner that her kids' behavior was unacceptable in our office full of sick people. For some reason, it worked.
  18. When I did medical billing in private practice, the worst was brat kids and people who didn't bathe. Ugh. I don't miss it.
  19. I'm gonna get crap for this, but here goes: I don't blame you for despising the woman. It is not you who should have to make compromises, but her. You are the real mother, the real grandmother. She's the one who should back away from functions involving your children and grandchildren. Your feelings and relationship with your grandchildren takes precedent over hers. You are under no obligation to accommodate her little bitty feelings. You're not on your children's facebook but she is? That's bull. You can block her and be on your children's facebook so that you can participate on it and m
  20. Omg, that is the truth. My aunt & uncle in Hiawassee had one up the mountain behind their house. First time I heard it, I thought a woman was being brutally attacked and almost called 911. My uncle said it was a panther. Weirdest thing I ever heard, just spine-chilling to hear at night.
  21. There is no bottom of the page on Pinterest!
  22. Oh, Pinterest is the most awesome time-waster on the internet, ever! If I ever get on that site, my whole night is shot.
  23. So Hasseldingbat likens sexual assault victims to those who don't want to work? She's an idiot, and a callous one at that.
  24. I'm familiar with what you are talking about. I remember some things like a PET scan would be broken down into several different charges because of different steps in the procedure, with the insurance paying some of the individual charges but not always all of them. I hated those, they are a miserable pain in the butt to bill. It's ridiculous. The last two years I was working, I just said the hell with it and did the Health Savings Account thing.
