It is nice to know someone else understands. It isn't like I mind being short, but it is an inconvience. I have blood sugar issues, too. I refuse to say I have the d word. lol. I can just imagine you on the phone books. I am so glad most cars have seats that are can be adjusted for me now. I had a car a long time ago that my Dad put a wooden block to the the pedals so I could reach them more easily. He didn't like me having to press the gas and brake with my big toe only.

I graduated high school at 4'10" tall. Fortunately, I grew a couple of inches after that and wound up right at 5'. Not bad for a woman. I developed hypothyroidism at around 12 and it affected my growth. So, I can totally see why parent would use growth hormones if their child was going to be exceptionally short. Especially a boy. I, by no means, think anything is wrong with being short, but a few inches can help in life. I am middle aged now but still if someone isn't around to get things on the top shelf at the grocery store, I have to leave without it, or go hunt down an employee to get it f

I had my first wreck last week and I have a question or two.

I had an accident in 2007-a BAD accident. I was not able to speak to the police officer because I was so badly injured. My daughter fractured her hip and was really freaked out worried about me. She was holding my head in her hands because I hit my head so hard I bounced back over to the passenger side. The other driver came up with his version of what happened and told the officer I was in his lane-although the accident happened in the center of MY lane. I was shocked a few days later after my surgery when I woke up in the hospital and my husband told me I had been given a ticket!!!! Well, as -
Welcome! I hope you are used to driving, because around here everything is at least a short drive away. lol. Hiram is where most of the restaurants are in the area, and it is going to be about a 15-20 minute drive (I am guessing) from where you are going to live. The people here are great. The school system has some of the best teachers you will find anywhere and it is a beautiful place to live. You will be here to see the leaves change in the fall. My husband moved here to be with me 27 years ago and fell in love with the rolling hills. (He lived in South Ga and SC where it was more flat.) Th

Buy a large pag of potatoes, a bag of rice and a box of noodles. Then shop sales for cheap meats and veggies. The new store that roars (lol) has country style ribs and chicken on sale this week really cheap. You can put them in the crock pot and shred up for bbq or bake in the oven or put on the grill. I find when I keep meals basic they are cheaper. Burgers, buns, fries are cheaper than a casserole. Not exactly as healthy as veggies, but it is a meal. lol. And we have lots of tomatoes and pepppers from the garden. A chicken in the crockpot can make 2 meals. Eat chicken one night, then add ri

Squiggle really appreciates it, too! I am on here trying to figure out the differences.

Have you ever watched True Blood on hbo? I have been reading the books the series is based on. They are not as difficult a read as I usually like, but for something new I am really enjoying them. My daughter bought the first one and I read it after she did and was hooked. The author is Charlaine Harris. The first book of the series is Dead Until Dark.

It is an awful sweet thing for you to do. I have been considering a paid membership and just haven't looked it up to see how to go about it. If you haven't found your last person already, I will be glad to be that person. lol. If you have already got your 5, no big deal. I will hunt it down and find out how. Either way, I am impressed with your generosity.

I have a 20 y.o. dd and a 24 y.o. ds who both live at home, work, and go to college. I have never told them "you have a curfew" but I do tell them their Dad has to get up at 6:30 to go to work and doesn't need to be woken up by the door opening and closing, or the dog barking late at night. They are respectful to us, and we are to them. My son went bowling tonight. He just called to tell me he was running late because 2 of the girls bowling with them were drinking and he couldn't let them drive so he took them home. Both my "kids" know if they are polite and respectful to their Dad and me, we

My favorite "job" is being a wife and mother. I am good at it, the rewards are great, but the pay sucks! I have done lots of things, worked for the post office, was an admin sec for an accounting firm, managed Hickory Farms kiosks, ran my own children's consignment store, catered events, worked at Sea Pines Resort, planned weddings, and now I make baked goods...but my all time favorite job was working as a waitress at The Magic Pan at Cumberland Mall way back in the 80's. We had so much fun, before, during and after work. I met a lot of people, made good money, and everytime I was between "b

I grew up eating "goulash" although it may not be the traditonal Hungarian kind. lol. This is how I learned from my mother: brown ground beef with chopped onions and bell pepper, drain. add a can of petite diced tomatoes and a jar or two of whatever kind of marinara you like. (You can also make your own sauce by just adding tomato sauce, garlic, a bay leaf -remember to take it out before serving- oregano and basil. but I think the jarred kind like Ragu is just fine). Once that is all cooked together, add a box of cooked macaroni noodles (although I like ziti, too). Pour into a casserole d

Both my husband and I want to be cremated. I told my kids to put my ashes in a flower bed or make a cement stone for a walkway and put my ashes in it. As for a "funeral" I want everyone to bring a covered dish and their guitars or karaoke machines and laugh and sing, eat and tell stories about how wonderful (haha) or goofy or silly I was. Pass out kazoos and all play Oh When the Saints Go Marching In. I don't need anyone to "preach" a service...I know God and He knows me. I just want my family to have something to remember as a farewell to this short, round body of mine-but to know my spirit

Reading your message makes me think my daughter may have had that in her teens. She was lifting her leg up on the bed and felt the bones slip backwards. She was in so much pain I took her to the ER, but the geniuses there gave her crutches and pain pills and sent us home without an answer. Took her to an ortho, same thing. He said sprained muscle and growing pains-but I never heard of growing pains that hurt so badly you couldnt put her foot on the floor. When she didn't get any better and still felt like the bone was "out of socket" I took her to a chiropractor. After the first visit she felt

I really feel for people who live in extreme poverty, no matter where they are living. And I have no problem with anyone coming to American LEGALLY, as someone else said. But when you come, obey the laws and pay your taxes. And try to learn english. If we would ever adopt english as our legal, national language it would help to enforce that.

My daughter's bf recorded these on my dvr and we have just started watching them this past week. I am hooked. And to think, I almost deleted them. lol

OMG! How awful. Prayers for him and his family. Was anyone else hurt?

I feel for you. I know how it is. I was in the same situation, not being able to get around alone, after a car accident a couple of years ago. Thankfully, I have a grown son and my husband who were here to help me. I know there is a group called visiting angels or something like that thu McEachern Methodist Church. (I think) People who will come help for a small fee. We have a family friend who used them. And local churches sometimes have volunteers who would be glad to come help you. Maybe you could arrange your PT in the late afternoon so you husband could still take you...or at least pick y

I don't know if they are open on Sunday, but The Vision Center in Walmart was so helpful when my husband had problems with his eye. I called and they even stayed open a few minutes late until he could get there. (I called 10 minutes before they closed.) Cost us $50 bucks instead of an ER bill and the dr. actually knew what to do instead of giving him a prescription for ointment and sending him home with a referral to go to an eye dr on Monday. I hope she is ok.

My skinny, super athletic husband eats icecream and drinks coke. If we are gonna tax the "evil" fat people, it is going to affect the skinny like my hubby, too. I think diet is not the biggest problem, although it is a biggie, in our country. We are lazy. How many of us sit in front of the computer or tv everyday? We used to be out working and doing. And our kids are following in our footsteps. Hey, I know, maybe we could get a tax credit for exercising! hahaha. Personally, I think the gov needs to stay out of it. And I am one of those crazy democrats who love the word "tax." sheesh. -
I am so sorry you are going thru this. I know how you feel. My mother had an aneurysm rupture in her brain and lived over 9 years after. She was brain damaged in that she had lost reasoning ability, and her short term memory, but she still knew us and had demands of us-however, if you didn't know her she seemed to be very with it. Her health went down, month by month, year by year. She was the absolute most difficult resident in the nursing home. We even had to get an attorney to keep her from being thrown out! Between my sisters and I, we made sure one of us visited her everyday. For over 9

Feelin good was good enough for me...good enough for me and my Bobby McGee... altogether now...na na na, nana nana na na nananana.... mumble, mumble mumble Bobby McGee. I love this song. Lots of good memories attached to it. Plus, it was one of my daughter's fav songs to sing at karaoke.
